Ross! I was always taught to play notes fast, wasn't always to play music, to make noise wasn't always done well or with control... That performance was probably the fastest, most controlled thing I've ever heard. You didn't let it run away from your fingers and mostly kept your pressure in check everything considered. Muso's like yourself make other people want to pick up their instruments. Well done.
‘The Sleeping Tune’ - I saw this in my inbox and I thought, I’ll play this later before bedtime. NOW I’M WIDE AWAKE! So’s my wife. And the cat as well....
Rest easy Gordie (Braemar Media typo? '...Gordon Duncan') it's been 15 years and now young Alex. Life can sometimes just be shite. Well played Ross, I'm sure i heard a celestial chanter echo.........
Anybody ever come across Ross indicating what gear he uses, specifically his chanter reeds? Without suggesting that stuff figures significantly into his virtuosity, his high-A's are strikingly sharp and clear in a way I never match. No doubt his precise pressure control and finger placement also play a big factor, but I'm just wondering.
Possibly only a piper can truly understand just how good that was ….. Normally to create such a sound you have a „band“ of 4 ot 5 That equals 40 or 50 fingers … This sound was produced with only 10 …. Amazing ❤
Brilliant. Perfect bendies & Vibrato on sleeping tune. I think I heard a taste of “Upside Down at Eden Ct”… strictly speaking you were right side up for that.. so you played it wrong lol😅
Speechless 👍🏻 just picked up my pipes after 15 years . Inspirational, now to get my fingers going’s again
Gordon is looking down on this from the heaven and I'm sure he's proud of you!

Really great well done 👍🏻
Love Gordon's music
When covid is passed on, come to "The Dayton Celtic Festival" in Dayton, Ohio the last weekend in July!!
Absolutely brilliant ross 😮
You’re amazing man! Congratulation from Portugal. 👏🏼👏🏼
mind boggling piping
I knew Gordon well but never met Ross. But I remember Gog saying he was giving this young kid lessons, which he looked forward to. I know why now.
Ross’s chanter just sounds perfect... anyone know what chanter he plays??
looks like a g1
It looks like an R T Shepherd "Orchestral" chanter, which is tuned lower than a standard band chanter (Shepherd Mk III or G1), closer to B flat :-)

very nice
I'm half expecting a wee Shetland pony to take him off the stage ....the size o' the gap between his knees! Great entertainment there RA!!
Lovely....no matter who plays Duncan....

I'd love to get the sheet music for The Sleeping Tune!
P 36 of Gordon’s Tubes Book one. I learned it by ear the day after I heard it 1996.
Why not try long way to the top?
The high reel played way too fast. Skill
😆
Blistering...
he missed all the good parts
