4:36 Nice video and congratulations on your awesome new device! :) Just a small correction since so many reviewers get this wrong, because they base their opinion on looks rather than facts. I'm guessing you've only seen the Nano display in UA-cam videos. At first glance, the Nano display may look a bit washed out in the videos, but in reality it is not (or at least only a tiny bit for a very few people, who are sensitive to it) ...thats due to reflections, how the light is hitting the camera lense, editing etc. Thats why many people think the color accuracy and contrast are worse, but that's actually not the case. There's a good video by a UA-camr called ArtIsRight. He measured the color accuracy and contrast of both displays in detail using "Calibrate" and the Nano display was not only just as good, but even slightly better than the glossy one. We're just used to the slightly oversaturated glossy displays. But nonetheless, both the glossy and Nano are great displays and you have a great device that you'll probably enjoy for years to come! :)
Glad you liked it! Yes, the nano texture looks washed out in videos. I also compared a normal display and a nano texture display in the Apple Store. Yes, you do get a more saturated look in the normal display, but you have reflections; in the nano texture, it looks slightly less saturated with a white tint on the display. they both have their pros and cons. At the end of the day, they are the same displays with one having an extra coating on top, so they should have the same results. But I preferred the normal glass mostly because of the price. While almost every monitor is sold has a anti reflexions coding, it hurts to pay extra for a MacBook one, that's the Apple way i guess. Color accuracy might be the same, but when you look at it normally doesnt it affect the contrast because of the defused glare you get?
@DenisDisdis25 To me, it looked like it affected the contrast maybe by a few percent, but interestingly, the measurements tell a difference story. But I guess you can't go wrong with either :)
cmd + X works only for text. I also installed that, but it was a big dilemma if I should use it or not. I am mostly on my desk, and I keep it plugged in. So I just let the macOS do its thing with the battery. Sometimes it discharges itself to 80% and very slowly charges to 100% just to keep the battery healthy. I didn’t want a 3rd-party app to control the battery. This is just my thought, how does it work for you?
@@DenisDisdis25 Generally, modern macOS algorithms are effective. You can use apps like AlDente, which might help or not, but they won’t change the fact that batteries age chemically over time. No matter the tricks, a battery will lose capacity as the years go by. Just use it as intended, and if needed, replace the battery eventually-simple as that. 😊MacBooks are for work, it's not an egg. When time comes, just replace battery if needed. 🙂 That said, here’s a tip: if your laptop serves as a desktop replacement and is constantly plugged in, take note. I’ve been there myself and ended up ruining three MacBook batteries in four years. My laptop stay connected to the charger for months, and after a year of being used as a stationary computer, the battery always have some defects. Since I wasn’t working on the go but rather stationary, a laptop wasn’t the best choice for me. So, remember to balance the time your laptop spends on the charger with time spent working on the battery. A laptop needs to run on its battery occasionally to stay healthy.
Another con on MacOS / MacBooks is the heavily increased input lag. The suspicion is, that all I/O travels through the security chip which adds processing / lag. macbooks definitely seem like they would be better for software designing, as you said you used them in a previous class. even though its not a laptop, the ipads and apple pencil’s pressure reading and fluidity feels good, especially for drawing. i do think apple is better for creative projects, just because theres so many tools at your disposal and supposed improved specs than higher-end pcs
the price does seem a bit scary, for $2000 for a laptop, but it definitely would be worth it if you’re constantly using it like you would seem to be doing. especially if youre a student, the macbook would be a pretty hefty investment, but it would definitely be worth it if you can do work and projects on the move instead of having to sit back at your dorm or wherever your abode is to complete any sort of work.

You are obviously a new macOS user. Every downside you mention is effectively just a config choice you haven’t made, and you obviously don’t know how to use macOS and the finder properly. Also your choice of software is not efficient, chrome isn’t great, the adobe suit is badly optimised and it sounds like you are using a large number of unnecessary background apps. It’s sadly discontinued now, but buy the last missing manual David Pogue book and spend some time learning how to properly use your computer. However, congrats on the switch .. more power to you…
Thanks for the feedback. The problems that I mentioned are very minor things. If I had a bigger list of major problems, I would buy it in the first place. Thanks to other people’s help in this comment section, I had some of my problems fixed. When it comes to the software choices that I made, I am aware that Chrome sucks in efficiency, but the main reason I am still using it is Adblock. Adobe might not be optimized, but it is still the industry standard. I know all of the ins and outs of Premiere Pro and Photoshop, which allows me to make these types of videos. Thanks for the book recommendations. Cheers.
Bro thought performance and battery was an issue for apple silicon and needed to see videos for it. I facepalmed so hard. How oblivious and uninformed can someone be?
@DenisDisdis25 I'm guessing not much slower than you since you've already proven that in the video and left me a question to belittle you with further. Many people who've never used Apple Silicon have at least heard that's it's much better. Did you live in isolation in that tiny PC too?
Thanks for your detailed critique. How can someone unfamiliar with a piece of hardware get information about it? Research, and that’s what I did. People who have used it also have varying opinions. You’re either a wealthy individual who enjoys spending money or an Apple fanboy. One thing they all share is a lack of research skills and common sense... (I’m also guessing not much of a writer since every comment is edited lmaoo)
Wow, it must be exhausting to know everything about Apple Silicon, especially when you’re clearly too focused on throwing shade rather than actually understanding the point of the video. He was just sharing his experience, which, unlike your comment, isn't based on assumptions. Maybe next time, save the facepalms for when you actually have a clue.
Good point. I heard that there might be a design change, and when you look at the current updates, it is most likely going to be a smaller, slimmer, and lighter MacBook. For now, they're all rumors. I'm actually curious about what they’re going to do with the M5 because this was quite the jump from the M3s. I don’t think the display will get any update since they just updated to a 1000 nit with nano texture. Not sure if they are going to do an OLED. What are your predictions?

getting kids changed my life, moving abroad changed a lot.. and so on... a new laptop is just laptop #12 or something.. they are all good/best when i bought them... not a life changer
Totally get where you're coming from! Big life events definitely put tech upgrades into perspective. What’s been your most impactful change so far?
How old are you 15?
how old do i look, i did mention i go to collage. Cheers!
@@DenisDisdis25 you look mad young my dude! It’s all good 👍 enjoy that piece of hardware
@@callmeNeno haha all good thanks! happy 2025!
insanely hot guy keep up the good work
Lmao thanks!!
Cheers.

Yup, windows has always been and will always be awful.
Now that i have used both operating systems i can agree...
Bro thought performance and battery was an issue for apple silicon and needed to see videos for it.
I facepalmed so hard. How oblivious and uninformed can someone be?
Thanks for the enlightenment! Did mentioned that this was my first macbook and first time using apple silicon. How slow can someone be?
@ArthropodSpidey Facepalm yourself again, this time extra hard, you need it 😂
Wow, it must be exhausting to know everything about Apple Silicon, especially when you’re clearly too focused on throwing shade rather than actually understanding the point of the video.
He was just sharing his experience, which, unlike your comment, isn't based on assumptions. Maybe next time, save the facepalms for when you actually have a clue.
better to wait 2026 mac book max. there will be huge update display, case design and CPU
