12 years ago I was recently divorced and had to move in with some friends. I had a huge cd collection that I ended up putting on my computer and being a dumbass, gave the whole collection to my roommates cousin. Tonight I stumbled on this song on UA-cam and I knew it still wasn’t on Spotify so I decided to buy all of the fear factory albums that are not on Spotify. The prices these used cd’s were fetching was ridiculous. But that’s the price you pay for being an idiot and thinking digital music files would never become corrupted. FF was the soundtrack to a difficult upbringing for me.
Lyrics Understand, understand That I will keep you safe From every scar that bleeds I will keep you free From all that's hurting me This I promise, this I promise This I promise, this I promise I promise, I promise One more time This I swear Trust in me My faith is sincere Love is stronger When the end is near Then there will be Nothing more to fear I promise, I promise Trust in these Love life hands You need me To help you stand I can release you From your pain dear Then there will be Nothing more to fear I promise this, I promise this I promise this, I promise I promise this, I promise this I promise this, I promise Love is stronger When the end is near I can release you From your pain dear Understand, understand I promise, I promise I promise this, I promise this I promise this, I promise Promise
I wonder if the album would have been better served by moving Echo of my Scream to the end, and swapping "New Promise" and "Supernova" The transitions would have been less... jarring?
sad to hear that in 2020 Dino have been kick from the band by burton. the other original also out one by one because they didn agree anymore with him . . . (sarcasm)
100% agree. I am a diehard fan and I'm always trying to appreciate something in this album... not much. Christian, Byron and Raymond are on point but the problems lie in Burton, him using his voice weirdly, the lack of Greg and Rhys, and the album being run by Burton which never goes well. This is sad EDIT: The mixing is wonky with the vocals taking forefront
Staunchly disagree. Transgression went for a more rock influenced and down to earth approach. This album has some absolutely gorgeous melodies and Burton's vocals carry them perfectly. Hence why they are so front in the mix. The lyrics are particularly great as well.
Love this song. Great lyrics from Burton. So many hidden gems on transgression if you give it a chance.
I agree I love archetype but spinal compression couple others on this album Top that one
the guitar solo really suits fear factory, it's so pretty
Just like the song says
"Love is stronger,
When the end is near,
Then there will be,
Nothing more to fear,"
Then the epic “I can release you from your pain, dear” Burton wrote
Best song from the album. Only smart people understand how great this album is lyrically..

It only takes one for you to replay this song. It's always that special one.
What a tune New Promise is. Standout track on a very underrated album
that one person who disliked this song broke a promise...
Must admit, this one grew on me... 3:48-3:58 is fantastic. Perfect insanity.
Lyrics
Understand, understand
That I will keep you safe
From every scar that bleeds
I will keep you free
From all that's hurting me
This I promise, this I promise
This I promise, this I promise
I promise, I promise
One more time
This I swear
Trust in me
My faith is sincere
Love is stronger
When the end is near
Then there will be
Nothing more to fear
I promise, I promise
Trust in these
Love life hands
You need me
To help you stand
I can release you
From your pain dear
Then there will be
Nothing more to fear
I promise this, I promise this
I promise this, I promise
I promise this, I promise this
I promise this, I promise
Love is stronger
When the end is near
I can release you
From your pain dear
Understand, understand
I promise, I promise
I promise this, I promise this
I promise this, I promise
Promise
My favorite! :)
It is pretty awesome!
this album sure had some good stufff
That opening clean riff is awesome
187 likes? should be 187k lol
Best love song ever
Hell yes! This song is absolutely great! :D
Such a great album! Sorry Dino!!!
FF always drops an epic bomb among their albums that stands out in a very different way. Love them for that. Whole album kills, and one drags at you.
................ there are no words. it is what it is ..........
I like it because of lyrics, Not sure if Burton had anyone at this time, but it's actually good song, overall lyrically and in sound
I love it
it's true. love is the strongest when the end is near.
Yes Fear Factory
Omg...this kicks ass....BEAST
Ascension Of The Watchers New Promise
💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

FUCK YEAH.. AWESOME..
HA
Same thing can be said about pain
Huh, this is an Amon Amarth song ! I know those riffs : D
Mark Morton wrote it. That's why it sounds so unlike FF.
Ultimate Defenders : Endgame

Honestly this is weak for fear factory... they're much better than this

@@blackefeltsch7459 That would've been fine if this weren't a Fear Factory album
@@mnemic9564 Good point. It would've been better as a side project album.
