I'm here for a week and stumbled upon your video. I think your dry and sometimes dark humor that your sprinkle in is hilarious! Thank you for the very helpful tips 😊
Your delivery always makes these so wonderful! "There's nothing more Swedish than fika, except--possibly--depression." I'm glad I wasn't taking a sip of anything at that moment because it would have ended up all over the living room!🤣
I have to admit that I was giggling to myself as I wrote that line! "I'm going to LOVE recording this one later" :D I took like three or four takes, just so I could choose the one that I felt had the best timing :D
@@ThreeStarVagabond ALL you do is wonderful, but it's those perfect deliveries and serious moments followed by, "Or...maybe not!" that work so well. Obviously, my wife and I love what you do. It's every bit as informative as travel shows with a crew, but more personal because it's you doing your thing!
I was told by some Swedish people at my local Scandinavian Cultural Centre to never visit Sweden in the winter because I would turn into an ice cube. I did visit back in summer of 2021 for 3 weeks. I visited Uppsala, Stockholm and Vimmerby because I loved Pippi Longstocking as a kid and wanted to visit where Astrid Lindgren grew up! Sweden really is a beautiful country and I got to practice my limited Swedish language skills with refugees who couldn’t speak English. Had some really fascinating conversations.❤️
That's really fascinating - you saw a lot of different places in Sweden, and you interacted with many people that others don't. Sounds like you really made the most out of that trip 😀
That's an interesting way to view it! Many Swedes love wintertime - and some feel like the country is "in hibernation" and just wait for spring instead. I guess tastes differ :D
I'm so glad to see you again. I'm sorry I haven't been able to visit the channel for a long time. You really made a lot of effort for this video. You must have spent days capturing the daylight. I think we need to prepare an event calendar to visit Stockholm. Because most events happen at some time of the year, and if we miss it, it is necessary to wait another year. Nobel Week, Christmas, and Semla sadly. Stockholm still offers all kinds of opportunities to have fun, no matter when we come. Thanks 3-S Vagabond, for becoming the Stockholm tour guide again for this week. See you until the next adventure. I hope I will have enough time to watch your missed episodes :)
Never feel any pressure to watch all the weirdness I upload, but thank you so much! And haha, yeah daylight is a bit hard to come by so I had to run out on lunch breaks to film some of these things during these last two weeks. Glad to see that it worked out despite that! :D One of these days I should create an event calendar for visitors, maybe :D
@@ThreeStarVagabond Yes, nothing is sad as finding Swedish event products the whole year. Such as Julmust or Glögg. I am very curious about them :D So knowing the calendar could be helpful :)

I've wanted to go to Sweden my whole life. It is the Winter that I am attracted to. I hate the heat of Australia. I finally got to visit Stockholm last year but it wasn't Winter. A dream of mine is to experience a cold Northern Hemisphere Christmas with snow. Unfortunately, no place can guarantee snow, apart from the Arctic, I guess. I am trying to figure out the most likely and picturesque places to narrow my list of possibilities.
Hope you enjoyed Stockholm even if it wasn't in winter! But yeah speaking of the Arctic - a significant part of Sweden is indeed above the Arctic Circle, so it's pretty much guaranteed snow up there. I took a road trip to Kiruna and Abisko a few years ago during Christmas, and there was definitely no risk of no snow. And plenty of cool activities there as well - snow mobile riding, dogsledding, ice fishing etc.
It can be lovely in winter, but I think most people appreciate it best if they just visit for a short time - and don't have to experience it for many months :D
