I read that you sold it, but yours is the only one talking about weather stripping. I have a 2013 Gulfstream Northern Express Hybrid and I just bought second hand. I noticed the weather stripping needs replaced around the top of the bunk ends under the gutter lip. There is a small amount of water coming on top of the tent like yours was but none on the inside. Question: Where you put the weather stripping on the door frame, was there weather stripping on that before you put it on? Because mine doesn’t have any on there, it’s just all around the actual opening on the rv where the door closes into.
Yes there was some weather stripping there and I just put a second layer beside it and it really stopped the leaking. If I were you I'd either put a wider weatherstrip since there was none of put two rows on. you could try one row and if it still leaks add another.
We just went through a torrential downpour and I found about a gallon and a half of water stuck in one of the bed ends. water has to be coming in through the seals so I’m going to use your idea and double up on the gasket material. Great idea by the way! five stars and two thumbs up.
Hi Gregg - great video thanks! We just went thru our first rainy camping experience with our 2018 FR Shamrock (which we bought used this spring), and had lots of wet ... just the one pop out side ... both the mattress & the couch ... and this water came in while we were sleeping with the pop out open. Just inspected it since we had a big rain last night, and the whole thing is parked & all closed ... more wet in same place. I'm thinking this fix of yours is needed to solve the water getting in when closed, but will it also work to keep us dry when open?
Once the stripping is applied can it be taken off again without noticing it on the edges...and is it still keeping water out for you?...thanks for the video
@@gsotak1 Sold it and bought a Winnebago Travato Class B. The trailer slept 8 people and my son and family moved away so it was usually just me wife and me, so we no longer needed all that room.

@@gregghershberger7968 good idea! Thanks for the quick response!
Thanks! I'm doing this fix!
I see this is an older video but I ran across it and it’s genius! I’m really considering getting one of these hybrid campers. Thanks for sharing!

I have a 2017 Rockwood Roo 21 ss. I am having problems with water getting into the beds after 3 years of usage. I will try your fix. Thank you!

No will not help when open, it just seals the dropdowns when closed. Thanks for watching.

James & Gina Hester it’s been two years and has kept the water out
Another viewer said he used rubber self adhesive seal and it worked also
Is weather stripping foam or rubber?
I'm having same problem on my 2019 roo
John Rutledge it was foam
Gregg Hershberger i was thinking water might get thru foam so I bought rubber seal. Would that work too?
It should, probably better than foam
Morning, is the foam still keeping the water out?
I sold it but it kept it out for as long as I had it.
@@gregghershberger7968 gotcha. If you don't mind me asking, did you get something different?
