This F Series M car is Biermann’s Swan Song of his career at BMW. The car is magnificent, and time will prove this car to be one of the best. Agree with a previous poster, it is a pity he left BMW M.

I loved all the F series M cars he engineered: the F80 M3, the F82 M4, the F85 X5 M, these were some of my favourite M cars of all time and Mr. Biermann’s time and effort really paid off with these vehicles.

Watching this in July 2021 and honestly I’m more impressed now than I was when I first watched it. I have a feeling the F8X generation will shine overtime. The lineage and heritage of Biermann is a link that cannot be substituted.
    In a word: Privity.
Good for him though as he’s begun a new legend over at Hyundai. In his decision to leave he said, “the key thing was that M was heading somewhere I didn’t want to go. The guys who used to do crazy projects were gone. So I was thinking maybe Hyundai isn’t a bad idea at the end of my career. Then a few things happened, like the double-clutch transmission was canceled for the M5, and I thought, “This is not my game anymore,” and I left.” This says it all. 💪

The F8x series was misunderstood for a while. But in the end, it was a great product. Especially the CS editions

BMW's M division is nothing without Albert Biermann anymore, but Hyundai hiring him was a beautiful idea. Hyundai's N division really thrived from his leadership and willingness to bring fun driving dynamics.

Biermann was a true petrolhead and above all the best BMW M engineer.

Do understand the overwhelming praise for the E92 & E46s. But after owning F80 M3 comp, I feel more and more that, despite the limitation to work around a turbo engine, it is by far the most mature and well engineered M car in almost every aspect that BMW ever produced. It will stand the test of time no doubt.

This car really responds well to left foot breaking....using the left foot brake in a bend really seems to sort the differential out. Wonderful car.

Biermann left because he was tired of fighting BMW’s upper management for money for the M Division (see motoman interview). The last straw was when they stuffed the ZF on the next M5. When he left, it signaled the end of the serious Motorsport focus in BMW M.

Yeah while I love the ZF 8-speed, the F10 M5 with the dual clutch was phenomenal. Hyundai's N division is thriving because of his leadership

I guess my question is: When is BMW going to start using the I6 turbo configuration in racing? BMW does not sell a naturally aspirated car, so why are the factory programs all running NA v-8's? time to homologate. the DTM and american and euro gt/lemans racers should be running turbo 6's. Ford is putting ecoboost to the track, BMW should be boosting all their race cars now
