    This should HANDS DOWN be the number one result coming up when people are searching for an honest review on an F8X.
    1. The amount of crap in the Facebook groups regarding the crank hub is ridiculous.
    2. There's no better review than one in the upper range of mileage
    3. When the mileage is done by someone that beats the ever-living shit out of the car on track, #2 is multiplied exponentially.
    liked, subscribed, and even hit the fucking dinger.
    Thank you for your service fella!

    Great video and Great save! Good to hear the car holds up under serious miles and hard tracking. I have a 2016 F80 with only 38k on the clock and worry about mileage. Imagine that? Lol. Ive had to replace a right control arm bearing, and turbo coolant lines but all and all the car has been reliable. Once the crankhub was found to be a weak spot, I was deterred driving and modding for a while. Resulting in only spending time behind the wheel once a week. Keep the good videos coming as I live my race dreams thru you. There is very few road courses on the east coast.

    Very informative, thank you! I do have a question for you;
    Have you driven an E90/2 M3? And if so, how did it compare? I understand the S65 doesn’t make as much torque as the S55, but the screaming RPMs and smooth powerband makes me think it would just be a car with much more character and enjoyment on track. However, if I go with an F80 instead, I wouldn’t need to keep my 335i for the weekend shenanigans with the homies, as an F80 with bolt-ons would make plenty of straight line power and still handle like an M car in the corners.
    Please let me know your thoughts when you see this, thank you!

    1) Is this car track ready out of the box as in did you have to change brake oil to DOT 4 and upgrade pads or did your leave it stock?

    I must say that contrary to popular belief BMW's are actually quite reliable. Had two BMW's so far with virtually no issues yet I've had issues with other car brands. I'm thinking of upgrading to a used M4 with around 15 000 miles on the clock as my daily. I do 32 000 miles a year. Is it worth the buy for the mileage I do and how long should I keep it for?

    Great review, I'm deciding between a M340i and and F80 M3

    • @collingoode4321
      @collingoode4321 3 роки тому +9

      Same! I am thinking F80 M3 for me... B58 is an amazing engine, but you just can't replace the M factor without getting an M.. Also, the depreciation is certainly going to hit harder on the 340. I am thinking I will wait for the new M3 to launch, wait several months and watch the market, then get an F80.

    • @hamza4real
      @hamza4real 3 роки тому +1

      @@collingoode4321 Same, my only concern is maintenance since I will be daily driving and putting a decent amount of miles on it. Deprecation is slightly better on the F80 M3. Don't think it's worth waiting for the G20 M3 after seeing the front grill pics. The only concern is low sales of G20 M3's once they come out which will appreciate the F80 M3 value.

    • @collingoode4321
      @collingoode4321 3 роки тому

      @@hamza4real I thought the same about the G20, but so many people just want the new M car... Think about the not-super car enthusiasts who just want "the fast one" (A few people I know came to mind). I know of 2 people who will be ditching an F30 and F32 for the G20. I am not sure how it will do, and I see this as the transition from the 997 to the 991, which was a bit polarizing at first (I am a big P-car guy). I personally don't care for the G20 from the pics I've seen, though I know the numbers will be impressive, and interior will be great. I guess we shall see! I am selling my Cayenne GTS & Miata and holding the cash until the time comes.
      I know BMW will offer aggressive leasing on the G20, so maybe I can catch an F80 coming off lease. Then you know all problems were most likely addressed because it was at no consequence to the leaser. I did drive an M340i for a few days... and its a badass car. Super quick and I can only imagine how it responds to a tune. Interior is beautiful and refined, and I really like the looks- but I know I personally will regret not getting the M3.
      In my research the major maintenance players with an F80 are crank hub (but usually a non-issue if close to stock), charge pipes, oil filter housing gasket leaking, and rare but potential internal intercooler leak. BUT the car is aging so new problems could arise.

    • @hamza4real
      @hamza4real 3 роки тому +1

      @@collingoode4321 I know what you mean by the non enthusiast wanting the fast one (I live in silicon valley, see it all the time). I personally think the new grills are disruptive towards the BMW brand and take away the traditional look. There's been an abundant amount of hate but it may be coming from people who aren't near the market. On the other hand, the new grills on the 7 series/X7 were hated at first but later grew on people. Looks like it's just a "matter of time" thing.

    • @collingoode4321
      @collingoode4321 3 роки тому +1

      @@hamza4real Absolutely. Most of the time, designers get it right. People hate for a while, then come around to liking it (as a whole... not everyone). The most recently example in the car world is probably the Supra.
      I also wasn't sure about the X7 but I love it once seeing one in person!

Probably a stock alignment is what I should be going for but I have a lot of adjustability as well. I took your advice from before and put some adjustable toe arms on it and it has camber plates on the front. I was thinking a little toe out on front (not sure how much), a little toe in on the rear ( again, not sure how much) and maybe -1.5 degrees of camber on the front and -1.0 rear. I was hoping you had been thru all this before since you are a lot farther down this path than I am. Actually, you’re farther down the path than I plan to go. 👍 There isn’t a lot of conversation about this online or at least that I can find. i think you should have gotten an N54 honestly. They are issue free and my single turbo 335i E90 will gap you pushing 719whp on just an E30 blend 👍

    Is hitting 100k miles some big deal in a bmw? I would think any vehicle these days should be hitting 100k miles easily. I don’t know shit about beemers though

      There’s not many owners with 100k miles on this generation of M3 yet. It’s not a big deal because this gen is pretty reliable but the video is catered towards an audience that owns one or is considering purchasing one

      shufish86 100k miles is Big deals Nowadays In Big Brands!! Bmw , Mercedes, some of their cars dies at 80-100k !!! I know personally friend who bought brand new 0miles Mercedes 2019 He used it for 40tkm And engine died!!! Myself have M550d engine died at 150tkm, My brother had Volkswagen 1.4 Dont know exactly what but engine died at 120tkm ! So yes Its big deal especially for a car thats driven hard!

      Christian Andolini so buying a used one is a big gamble I’m guessing? Lol. Damn. I had a Jetta once and it went 250,000 miles. The guy I sold it to still had it. Not sure how long it made it after that though. I was looking at bmw but now I’m not so sure. That’s a lot of money for something that you don’t even know will make it to 100,000 miles. They sure look fun though lol

      shufish86 When i bought my car With “only 150tkm” for 26.000 euros i Was thinking man thats a new car the engine just got runned in,,,, But at 180tkm When it died Then i Realised modern engines Made to Fail!! Just think about it Bmw Or Mercedes Gives You Warranty When brand new for 3-6 years or 60tkm (100tkm) You know why? Because nothing major Will happen Within that mileage As things were built to last 100-150tkm !! It could be because long oil change intervals I mean like 24tkm wtf?? Some even 30tkm I change my oil every 8tkm Maximum 10tkm !! So Yea Keep in mind when buying especially a Performance car!! But the mercedes owner was a 350d i think he used it for Taxi Engine failed at fuckin 40tkm Mercedes Rebuilt the engine and after 5tkm it failed again Now its with lawyers!! Im not saying it will happen with every car but i could happen!! My friend has 550d same as i But he only has 120tkm Will see hope everythjng goes good for him!!

    I’m not gonna lie.. that’s pretty bad reliability for 100k miles. But you did drive the fuck outta the car, so I guess it’s reasonable. Saying it’s bad because I’m basing it off the E90 M3 which I only had to replace valve cover gasket and normal maintenance.
