What an amazing video Craig, I’ve supported since the start of the 71 f100 build and can truly say this was one of my favorites ever. You should totally do more road trips in unknown classics!! All respect and love!

My momma's is a EFI bored 0.30 over in a 96 Ford f250 super cab long bed aode 4speed automatic transmission with overdrive 3.55 gears and gets 10mpg that's it
I had a Ford back in the day and I traveled a lot. My mechanic rebuilt my carb and put the smallest jets possible in it and it got great mileage. Still had all the power. Nice truck.
Ok, Craig, I've always considered a road trip a real test for a relationship. You survived a lengthy ordeal in a vintage RV, with numerous issues, no A/C, and you're been together 2 years? Start looking at rings. She's a Saint!
The Adjustment you made to the Steering Box is not for reducing play in steering wheel side to side (although it will help) that Adjust is for Preload on the shaft in the box to help keep steering wheel on center. If over Adjusted it will increase effort needed to turn steering wheel or make steering stick if way over adjusted. Hope this Helps.
I have found on my 25 foot 1994 class A Winnebago Warrior Chevy 454 that if I use Chevron I get 10 to 11 miles a gallon. If I use other gas it goes from 5 to 8 gallons. Chevron makes a big difference. I have been living and traveling in my going on 5 years now filming my adventures. I have tried other gas and keep track of my mileage and Chevron is always 10 to 11 miles a gallon if I don’t go over 60 miles an hour at 75 or 80 or uphill it can go down to 8 or 9 but that is still really good! I love my happy 454 Chevy motor! Great video nice old camper!
You're in a unicorn. Back in the 70s there were a lot of small companies that took Ford 350s and built custom campers on them. I think most ended up in retirement parks or around lakes as weekend getaways. That is a beautiful restoration vehicle that's already in great shape. Gas mileage of 6.5 is great for that vehicle. My dad's 1990 f250 got about 5 pulling a boat. It had the 460 which was an awesome truck
Unless someone swapped blinker lenses, that’s a 77. Could show a late build 76 on the VIN sticker on the door jamb. I bought a truck from a guy a few years ago and he was selling it as a 76. Ended up being a 77. That’s a cherry of a truck, minus the gas mileage I would love it! Was awesome you were able to share the trip with your girl. 👌🏻
@@Thecraig909 I caught that. I’m super typing my response and like 5 minutes later you’re like, “Oh, it’s a 77”. 😂. The amber turn signals make the 77’s really easy to identify. You can see me with the 77 my dad gave me in my profile pic. Keep the videos coming. Dig the new Mustang as well.
Head up north I5 into Washington to exit 56 area is a guy name Ben Reaves. Has a beautiful ford boneyard right off the freeway. At least 50 rigs waiting for you!
Always loved the split grilles on the 76-77 fords going to buy me one day and diesel swap it. Might even swap a 76/77 front clip on a late 70s bronco when they went to match the truck design
@@davidcatlette9697 If I could find one with a 460 in my price range I would totally build it and put a zf-5 behind it. My dad has a 92 f250 with one and it shifts like butter

About 45 mins from my house is a 1971 Bump side version of this. It's been sitting in the same spot for at least 5 years that I know of. Given the age /era of this truck. I'm kinda surprised that the fog lights are not Per-Lux's. They were the in thing back when this truck was new. I always wanted a pair but could never afford some.
Is the vent on the gas tank clogged and does it have a vented gas cap if it’s unable to vent it can cause a vacuum and collapse the rubber line while freeway driving it’s happened to me before hope this helps
U give me so much motivation to go work on my truck I’m 15 and have learned so much by watching your videos I have a 1986 f150 two door short bed 5 litter 2wd and I love watching your videos thanks for helping me and I hope to meet u some day
Don't know if you will see this message but I was wondering where the guy said he got the 16.5 in tires from. Unfortunately that is the size I have on my 1985 E350 460 Ford RV I just bought. It is a beautiful RV but I wished my ex would have checked the mechanical part of it a lot better. I knew it needed the wiring harness either replaced or spiced back together and your regular oil, plugs, wires, filters and belts but not what I have ran into so far. I kinda wish I didn't buy it. I know its built better then the newer ones with the laminated siding but if I had just a bit more money I could have bought a newer one that ran and drove. But I guess even though this one is older then the one I bought ran it just shows they can break down regardless of the age. Im just afraid I won't have enough money to fix this. I mean it has been sitting for 29 years so I should have figured it would have problems but my ex said he could get it running. Guess that is a wait and see.... Lol But he just pulled the back tank and it was completely rusted through and he said you could put your finger through the steel where it was so soft. And the guy I bought it off of said it had a plastic tank. I questioned the guy about it and he swore it had a plastic gas tank and then my ex said that newer cars use plastic and I said this isn't new, it's old. But again something he should have checked before I bought it. Because if he checked it and told the guy he was a couple bubbles off that it is steal I would have walked away and not looked back because that is one thing I can't stand is a liar and a thief. But now I'm stuck with it as of now. So I'm looking at a wiring harness that I found for $100 to be safe. A rear fuel tank. A rear fuel pump, front fuel pump, fuel pump on the frame. Battery for the engine, the guy said he just put a new battery in it, so all I can figure is that he took it out and put a junk one in it. I had to buy a new starter. Even though he said it turned over and I get it to my ex's and there's nothing so he looks and the starter is being held on by one bolt. So only thing I can figure is that he took that back off also. The battery for the generator and fridge. And this is just the beginning. I just pray that it's not going to be any worse then it is already. If I could sell it for what I paid for it I would sell it except I wouldn't lie to people with what is wrong with it or take parts off of it. Now if the guy didn't take the parts off then I'm sorry for thinking and saying it. But how can it be this when it's at his place and completely different when I get it to my ex's house? Anyhow sorry for going on and on about the rv but I need to know of a cheap place to get those 16.5 tires or what size could I put on it that would work and not be an odd ball size and cost me an arm and a leg to get tires. Thank you. God bless 🙏💞🙏

that camper still looks new other than the headlight and couple of other things. It looks like the 70’s are still here I doubt whoever had it all these years used it much. they probally bought it and took their kids out when they are teenagers and they realized that their kids hate them and it got parked with only like 20k miles on it! I bought an old farm truck a 106k mile 1994 F-150 4x4 reg cab SB 5.0 5 speed. it needs a little cosmetic work cuz it was a farm truck and got used chasing cattle. its nothing too bad. trucks get used and its next to impossible to find a 30 year old truck that doesn’t have a couple of dings and dents or a scratch here or there. Good thing is its bulletproof drivetrain and low mileage plus the farmer took really good care of it too. I get 18mpg with it too!
