I see this occasion as a way of passing the touch to open up people's minds that metal is in your heart...not your age, gender and country.

I saw a comment on one their vides somewhere along the lines of: Adding a heavy band doesn't make this metal. To which I responded, "Yes it does." And that was like 3 years ago and BM is still kicking ass.

Great reactions. It was awesome to see the girls performing freestyle with Rob Halford outside of their usual choreography. Su looked like she was having a really good time singing with Rob. And how awesome was it to see Yui and Moa with those Flying-V guitars. So cool to see Su nuzzling up to them, and seeing them interacting so closely with Mikio and Taka on guitars. Great performance all around!

    7:42 Reaction start.
Welcome back to the Foxhole and BabyMetal journey.🦊🤘🔥
Glad to see you're back with this great suggestion.
Another nice reaction, and just like you saw the party on BM live concerts is wild, especially with this song becoming super fun into something like a cult.👀
Last month they started the Sabaton's Europe Tour, everyone is having a blast with them coming back to the stage in this live tour and more is coming such the Babyklok Tour in the US along with Dethklok and another return to UK and Europe for a headline tour.
Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! is one of BM fans favorite and got special meaning too. Song is about a 15 years old girl celebrating her birthday going to her first live concert, probably metal, while having melancholy for leaving her childhood behind.
Isn't about any of our girls but they embraced this song like it was made for them, you'll find many special versions of this, even when they celebrate their 20th Birthday.
15 is an important coming of age for Japanese girls, 20 is another important date.
This was at Legend 1997 (that's the title of this live concert referring to SuMetal birthyear and is the same concert you saw them performing Gimme Chocolate!!) in 2013 celebrating SuMetal 16th Birthday, and the whole concert was special, if you want to know the rest of the songs finishing this, those are:
    - "Akatsuki" Unfinished Version, a beautiful SuMetal solo version with only a piano behind, the original song is a power/speed metal balad
    - "Babymetal Death", be ready for this insane ending,
The live concert and also this song got plenty of tributes to the greatest metal bands, like Metallica and X-Japan, specially Yoshiki, the gong at the end is one of those, you'll find more and plenty of this to add to their lore.
The official MV is also creepy for some fans, I guess the organ gave that effect, you'll also see the neckbrace there for the first time which is a tribute to Yoshiki from X-Japan.
Another thing that you don't see so much here in their live performance is, when YuiMetal and MoaMetal are having fun with cryo or smoke gun, the choreography on this part is with them down on their knees and doing the "dogeza hedoban" which is like bowing down back and forth summoning the metal spirit represented by the neckbrace while SuMetal is standing with the mic rise up and her relentless death stare, that's another moment we called -NotACult-
The Kami Band here are insane set of elite musicians who were send to help with the metal sound, "kami" means roughly "god", they're wearing burial white robes and corpse face paint to represent those spiritual entities.
They rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarrists).
    They are:
    - Míkio Fujioka, god of guitar, a beloved member, sadly he passed away in 2018. (R.I.P.)
    - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums tracks.
    - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but her fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. You can see at the end (when SuMetal is crawling upstairs) his head got written "Happy Birthday".
    - Hideki Aoyama,, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japan music scene.
I would love if you can go with the rest of the songs of this special live concert but if you want another song that ranks high as a favorite you can watch:
    - _"Ijime Dame Zettai"_ live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 and you can witness a turning point in their career and a different type of live performance unlike this one with big top notch production.
The target audience of BM is anyone who loves metal and Jpop sound and is open minded, in the beginning were mainly men and since they belong to another main group called Sakura Gakuin they had a core fanbase called fukei (mostly adult men), later they started to get more wide range fans, but the girls said in a interview they targeted female audience to get in BM songs since they had songs like this talking about girls and women's feelings and everyday life, they even made live concerts exclusively for women fans. Nowadays their audience is wide range between 2 yo and over 70 yo, men and women equally.❤
They will go to the US but not with Sabaton, it'll be with Dethklok with the Babyklok Tour.
Kitsune up and see you next time!🦊🤘🔥

There's an interview you can find after this with both of them, really fun.
Rob Halford said he was so excited about this that even bought a cloth to match up with the colors of the girls. lol
And he's waiting for another chance to collaborate together on a new song.
Is all about fun and having a good time with a metal legend and the future of the metal sound.
Our girls we'll never forget Rob's kind words and support when saying: _"Stay metal."_ 🤘
Thanks for sharing this iconic fun moment on BM career. 🦊🤘🔥

I'm SOOO looking forward to this concert! I'm going to the Vancouver, BC concert. I'm not a big fan of Sabaton, but I do like Deathklok, and even enjoy watching the anime/cartoon. So This will be my first Babymetal concert as they have never performed in Vancouver, BC before. It's also a very small venue, which is both good and bad lol. The venue isn't a very good choice to be honest, but there's more of a chance of getting to meet them in person just because of where they chose, and also a good chance of getting a really good spot as well. I haven't been so excited for a concert since my first TOOL concert like 20 years ago lol

I forgot to add, you commented on their energy and stamina ... 'Headbanger' was the 12th or 13th song that night and they still had two more to go ('Akatsuki' unfinished version and 'BABYMETAL Death').
They keep that same energy up from the first second to the last in all their concerts. They appreciate people have paid a lot of money and often travelled a very long way to see them, so they never give less than 100% effort to give them the best show they possibly can.
They will be touring the US from the end of August through to October as co-headliners with Dethklok in the BABYKLOK tour. Get tickets if you can ...

haha, I think we've got 'em both ^-^ welcome to the fox hole, lads! 🦊
You chose a great couple songs to start with. BABYMETAL have a huge variety in their songs and like to challenge themselves by mixing their sound with all sorts of subgenres, so you have a fun journey ahead of you. In general their live performances are always preferable to the album tracks.
    Couple suggestions:
    - ijime,Dame,Zettai - Live at Sonisphere 2014,UK (OFFICIAL) - [safe for youtube] this was a breakthrough moment for them. Their first major performance overseas. They were added to the roster quite late on and nobody knew how the crowd would react. This is the old Donington monsters of rock festival infamous for lobbing bottles of fluid at performers they don't like, so they were very nervous going into this show
    - Rondo of Nightmare with Mischief of the Metal Gods Intro
PS: They will be playing LA next on 2023-10-11 on their dual headline tour with Dethklok (but it looks sold out, so may have to hunt around) and Sacramento as part of Aftershock festival on 2023-10-07

Great double reaction.🤘🦊🤘'Headbanger' is a great track - I was so happy it was on the set list when they played Hammersmith in 2020 so I could experience it for myself.
As it is about a girl going to her first concert on her 15th birthday, in shows on or near their own 15th birthdays in 2014 when they played 'Headbanger', about half way through Su-metal handed the mic and stand to Yuimetal (in Paris) and Moametal (in Cologne) and they took over lead vocals for the rest of the song while Su took their place in the choreo.
The same thing happened in 2019 at the Legend M concert celebrating Moa's 20th birthday (the official coming of age in Japan) ... I don't know if 'Moabanger' (as the fans call it) will be on your list, but if not and you have some spare time to yourselves it is well worth finding.
That performance with Rob Halford was special for them. In the interview afterwards Rob Halford said they were originally only going to do 'Breaking the Law', but he was enjoying rehearsing with them so much that he said "Let's do 'Painkiller' as well" and they made it work with this first ever mash up.
He also described Su, Yui and Moa as "Heavy Metal Monster Ladies" ... which made them giggle.
He also told them to "Stay Metal" - a message they took to heart.
At the end of BABYMETAL's support tour of the UK with Red Hot Chilli Peppers they performed the 'Painkiller - Breaking the Law' mash up again - this time Su did all the vocals, but Chad Smith from RHCP was on drums all dressed up as a Kami ... and it was the day before Su's 19th birthday, so Chad had a surprise for her at the end as well.

    Great double reaction, thanks!
About "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" from Legend 1997, that was a really impressive performance, really early in their career, and not only because of the girls and the Kami Band skills and precision (it's actually their thing) but also because of the crowd interaction. They are black belt in crowd control and that makes their live performances really amazing. The song was part of the encore and the total running time of the show (on BD) is around 80 minutes. It took a lot of energy and sweat.
About the Rob Halford collaboration, I'm a sucker for this performance as a livelong metalhead and BABYMETAL fan. No matter the context or the actual performance, the only fact it happened is enough for me and seeing all of them having a blast on stage just makes me happy. There is an interview with the girls and Halford and he said that they were the future of metal and also referred to them as "Wonderful heavy metal monster ladies".
    Until next time!

Great double header, and good timing, guys! I'm seeing Babymetal in Sydney on 9th June. I admit that I was sceptical of the concept at first, but the sheer spectacle of their stage shows drew me in, especially tracks like Headbanger, and Road of Resistance, which I assume you will get to if your curator is on the mark. 😛
They recently played Wembley arena, although I realise we won't get anywhere near that scale performance at Sydney's venerable Hordern Pavilion. This was the venue for my first ever rock concert, a rather long time ago, which was Jethro Tull! So I've come full circle with rock and metal over almost five decades. Now if they can just bring Band-Maid and Lovebites down under - I live in hope!

Hey Hoges, it's great to see another Aussie Babymetal fan in the comments, and, commenting on the Thamesmen. If you are new to this channel, have a look at The Thamesmen's catalogue of videos. Given you're a veteran of the Jethro Tull era, I'm certain there will be many, many videos here that will float your boat. Pull up a chair and stay awhile.
I am off to see Babymetal on 8 June in Brisbane, so I am pretty excited as well. Of course, it won't be as big as their Japanese shows as they need to sell more than two or three thousand tickets a night to bring that kind of punch to one-night stands in Australia. I am just appreciative that they are coming to this distant outpost for a hit-and-run three show tour of Australia. And they are stand alone. Expect more than the eight or nine songs that they are currently playing on the Sabaton/Babymetal/Lodri tour.
If you are interested in a more realistic expectation for Babymetal's shows coming up in Australia, take a look at the 2020 performance in Brussels of BxMxC. It is a fan cam (phone footage and audio), so the audio is pretty poor (but someone has kindly cleaned it up a bit), but it looks like the girls are going to dance all over the top of you, they are so close. So, there are benefits of seeing the big shows as well as the smaller, more personal venues. If you haven't seen it, search UA-cam for: Babymetal BxMxC Live in Bruxelles 2020 v2 (Remastered Audio) - Baby Metal . However, if you are new to The Thamesmen's Channel, put that on hold and poke around here a bit. It's a fun time.

I've been following The Thamesmen since they were in You Tube short pants, nice to see them approaching 20K subs. The Aussie week features were a highlight, and there's still plenty for them to explore on that front.
I had all but given up on popular music since about the 2000s, however the renaissance of Japanese rock and metal has won me back. I'm a major fan of Lovebites, and have bought most of their CDs and blurays, with Band-Maid's Tokyo Garden Theatre concert just joining the collection. Who says YT reactors don't contribute to bands revenue potential? I never would have found them without the reaction channels.

These guys have a huge amount of energy and talent. They have had some massive names back them up through their festival tours over the years. You asked how long are there concerts about 2 hour's but Headbangya was the third of a 5 song encore and you really do need to listen to the least too of them they show the other sides to of Babymetal, all so Akatsuki (Unfinished Version) they do a (finished Version) of it as well same song but you would not think so, as for Babymetal Death "HUM" no spoilers.
Any way this concert was a special one hear is why no apologize for the wall of texted it is Babymetal.
*BABYMETAL - LEGEND 1997 APOCALYPSE CONCERT* at Makuhari Messe, Chiba Japan.
This concert was on the 21/12/2013, the concert was named (Legend 1997) because that was the year when Suzuka Nakamoto the lead singer was born on the 20/12/1997, so the show is in some way (SU-METAL's 16th birthday party) how did you celebrate your 16th birthday? I cannot remember mine, SU is not going to foget her 16th birthday.
The whole show (Legend 1997) is all about BABYMETAL's final transition from being a sub-unit of Sakura Gakuin and J-pop Idols in to an independent and a live performance metal band.
The show started with an opening performance with Yui and Moa carrying neck braces to the music of 'Ave Maria', this is telling you who the statue is of at the back of the stage 'Mary Nazareth' (Mary of Nazareth) this opening performance comes to a conclusion when Yui and Moa offer up the neck braces to the statue and descend below the stage, to be replaced bye SU waring a neck brace standing on a plinth that rises half way up the statue, Yui and Moa then reappear back on stage and they go into there first song of the show.
That song is a very techno dance remix of 'Headbanger' (Headbanger!! -Night of 15 mix-) but it was not remixed bye a fan Babymetal remixt it, if you ever watch it how you see it is how they performed it on stang, it will all so be very clear that they are lip-syncing and if you don't no anything about the world of pop ldols they nearly allwas lip-sync, now remember this concert is about there transition so this first song was entirely and unashamedly lip-synced to a backing track and they were not trying to hide it, I don't think that Yui or Moa ever tried to pretend they were singing they just smiled danced, and interacted with the fans even when they reappear back on stage at the start of this song the looks on there faces said "we are going to have fun with this", SU no the other hand loves to sing and the look on her face at the start of this song was more like "HO BOY lets get this over with", SU do's lip-sync with the mic but there are times were she moves the mic away and carries on singing and at one part the other dancers lift SU up arms outstretched mic in hand and you can hear her singing but SU's lips are sealed and the look on her face at this point is just saying "REALY", even the band that are on stage with them are fake thay are actors dressed in skeleton outfits called (The Babybones) and are pretending to play there instruments.
So now you no about the first song what about the rest of the concert and no I not going through each song individually I will put a play list up of them for you, what I will say is that the techno dance remix of 'Headbanger' was the last time you would see SU-Metal, YuiMetal or MoaMetal lip-syncing, for the rest of this concert and every concert that they have done since the girls are singing LIVE, however the rest of this concert was done to backing tracks with The Babybones pretending to play, but the fans went hard at this concert and so did the girls it was one hell of a party that I would have loved to have bean at.
Hear is the play list for this concert.

Now that may have bean the end of the concert but it was not the end of there transition, the show was about to begin the girls would come back out on stage for a five song encore but this time The Babybones were not with them, the band that came back out on stage with SU, Yui and Moa were THE KAMI BAND and they don't have to pretend to play there instruments, The Kami Band is made up from some of the vary best musicians that there are in the world today and they were about to rock this place to it's very foundations, the five songs they were to perform are these.
    -ENCORE-
    Onedari Daisakusen
Catch Me If You Can (Extended Intro)
    Head Bangya
    Akatsuki (Unfinished Version)
    Babymetal Death
    *The Band*
The Kami Band - Aoyama Hideki (Drums), BOH (Bass), Fujioka Mikio (Guitar), Leda Cygnus (Guitar).
So now what do we have a very hyped up crowd rocking hard the girls feeding off the crowds energy and going harder and now a live band that always rock hard and heavy, Babymetal's transition from pop Idol singers into a live performance heavymetal band was complete, I said before that this was one hell of a party for these last five songs HELL would think that it was being invaded.
There was one more thing to be done and it would involve the last song BABYMETAL DEATH, but that neads a description all of it's own so we will leave that for now.
JUST AS AN EXTRA FOR YOU.
This how ever would not be the last time that The Babybones would perform with the girls, Babymetal is not just a band they refer to it as The Babymetal Family and once you are a part of the family you will allways be a part of it and The Babybones had bean a big part of Babymetal and there evolution to were they are now, so as a farewell to the fans The Babybones were given one last tour to do with the girls it would consist of five concerts two out side of Japan and three in Japan.
    These are the concerts.
    DATE: EVENT: PLACE: BAND:
28/12/2013, Live In Singapore, Scape The Ground Theatre, Singapore, Babybones.
30/12/2013, Countdown Japan 13/14, Makuhari Messe Internacional Exhibition Hall, Chiba, Babybones.
18/01/2014 All Live Nippon 2014 (Vol.2) Yoyogi National Gymnasium, Tokyo, Japan Babybones.
24/01/2014 Kinniku Shōjo Tai × Babymetal Tsutaya O-East, Tokyo, Japan Babybones.
02/02/2014 Babymetal x Chthonic ATT Shout Box, Taipei, Taiwan Babybones.
This was The Babybones last tour there was just one more thing to do, and that was to officially retire from stage and hand over to The Kami Band, this would be a performance of just one song *Ijime Dame Zettai* it means (No More, Bullying, Forever) a good song choice for this, and it would be the first and only time that The Girls, The Babybones and The Kami Band would be no stage performing together, after this performance the band with the girls has always bean The Kami Band and the performances have always bean live, that is what they wanted to be a Live Performance Band and they are, to listen to a Babymetal song is good, to watch a Babymetal music video is all so good, but to see Babyletal perform live that is somthing you just have to experience.
    Anyway this performance was at.
DATE: 06/02/2014 EVENT: Music Station Show PLACE: Makuhari Messe Event Hall, Chiba, Japan BAND: Babybones + Kami Band

My (then-) modern musical journey basically started Queen -> AC/DC -> Judas Priest, but I have three clear memories of how I discovered Priest, and none of them fit with either of the other two! I _think_ I began listening in 1979 because I remember a conversation with a friend when we met in sixth form college that year after a gap, and he was surprised I was listening to them. However, there's a small chance British Steel was my first album (I found it in Eastleigh library). They are still the band that have spent the longest time at the top of my favourites list (a spot currently held by Nightwish).
Anyway, the awards show may not be the best performance, and it certainly isn't the best crowd or videography, but it's always good to watch because Su is so obviously having a great time (no death stares possible!) and I love that Rob gave such open support to them.

    • @lencooke944
      @lencooke944 10 місяців тому +1

For sure, John. This is far from Babymetal's best work, but it was a bit of a sh*t-show from the start. The awards night was from the Alternative Press; Babymetal were picking up an award for their song Karate, which doesn't fit into alternative music at all. Then to organize a performance of an aged metal superstar with an up-and-coming metal group, must have sounded great in theory, but in practice, Su trying to reach notes that were out of her range was problematic. It was kind of set up for disaster. However, I really respect Rob Halford and Su for pushing through with their performances like the professionals they are.
I don't want to can the performance, because, superficially, it was a really good awards night performance, it's just not what we expect from Babymetal when they control the production values. Anyway, onwards and upwards.

"Headbanger" Legend 1997 Apocalypse concert is a epic show celebrating Babymetal Su-Metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) 16th Birthday 🎉 or Seitansai @ the Makuhari Messe. Spot the Pikachu in the middle of the crowd, you won't miss it!.
    Headbanger (Babymetal song):-
"Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" (ヘドバンギャー!!, Hedobangyā!!) is a single by the Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal. Released in Japan on July 4, 2012 in promotion for the album Sakura Gakuin 2012 Nendo: My Generation, the single serves as the third single from the debut album Babymetal. It is also the band's first solo audio release to be released commercially.
    •Single: Babymetal.
•Album: Babymetal and Sakura Gakuin 2012. •Nendo: My Generation.
    •Language: Japanese.
    •Released: July 4, 2012.
    •Genre: Power Metal, Heavy Metal.
    •Length: 14:44.
    •Label: Juonbu.
    •Songwriter: Edometal, Nakametal, Narasaki.
    •Producer: Kobametal.
    •Narametal: (arrangement).
    Babymetal singles chronology:-
"Babymetal / Kiba of Akiba": (2012)
    "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!": (2012)
    "Ijime, Dame, Zettai": (2013)
    Background and release:-
Unlike previous tracks released by the band, which had her vocal recorded in segments within the songs, Nakamoto had her lines recorded in a single take several times. She had been told to sing and find a story within the music. By the time she had comprehended the story behind the lyrics, she grew capable of singing the entire song naturally. When Mizuno and Kikuchi listened to her shouting "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" for the first time, they felt as if they had seen another cool side of her, surprised by the vocal power. Additionally, the single introduced the members to the whispering style of singing, with the A-side's "Kiero!" (Disappear!) and the B-side's "Uki Uki Midnight". Kobametal was inspired to Ko use it to contrast traditional death growls.
"Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" was announced as a single on April 27, 2012, with a release date set for July 7, 2012. The single was released in two versions: a standard edition, available via CD and digital formats, and a physical limited Hedo-ban ("Head edition"), which contains a CD and a "neck corset" (actually a cervical collar) for headbanging training.[5] Both editions of the single feature the songs "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" and "Uki Uki ★ Midnight" (ウ・キ・ウ・キ★ミッドナイト, "Exhilarating Midnight"), along with instrumental versions (labeled as "Air Vocal ver."). The standard version contains an enhanced CD with a bonus music video of "Babymetal Death", which can only be played on a computer. The artwork of the standard edition depicts a lyric in the song, specifically when the girl is headbanging with the corset, with the crimson-colored moon in the background, as well as the band name appearing at the top. The limited edition artwork depicts a temple scripture of the "Corset of Legend" with the song title spelled out in the middle.
Before the physical international release of the song, its title was written ambiguously as either "Head Bangya!!" or "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!", the latter of which is officially used in the international re-release of Babymetal and all future releases. The music video uploaded to the band's UA-cam channel initially had the former name, though it was switched to the latter in 2015; the version uploaded by Toy's Factory consistently retained the official title.
    Tekina Remix:-
During the live performances Legend "D" Su-metal Seitansai at Akasaka Blitz on December 20, 2012, and Legend "1997" Su-metal Seitansai at Makuhari Messe on December 21, 2012, a remix titled "Night of 15 mix." was performed, containing more elements of electronic music. The former took place on Suzuka Nakamoto's actual fifteenth birthday, while the latter was the opening song for the concert. Remixed by DJ'Tekina//Something, the song was later released as part of Social Reform promotional editions of the single "Ijime, Dame, Zettai", and later appeared on DJ'Tekina//Something's remix album Kawa-EDM (2016), re-subtitled as "Tekina Remix".
    KamiBand:-
The KamiBand are the instrumentalists (or backing band) in BABYMETAL - Each member is a "god (Kami) of music" summoned by The Fox God stage by stage. All the Kamis are male except for the Babymetal girls. The Kami Band wear corpse face paint and white robes depicting Japanese 🇯🇵 spirit. The Kami Band have their own jobs and side-projects in addition to BABYMETAL.
    Babymetal original Trio:-
    •Suzuka Nakamoto: Su-Metal (2010 - present).
    •Moa Kikuchi: Moametal (2010 - present).
•Yui Mizuno: Yuimetal (2010 - Left Babymetal in 2018 due to undisclosed health issue).
Current & Past Members Of Kami Band Who Perform At The "MAKUHARI MESSE":-
•Leda Cygnus (Guitar, ESP BLACK CUSTOM).
•Mikio Fujioka (Guitar, ESP BLACK & GREY CUSTOM) R.I.P January 2018.
    •Daisuke 'BOH' Bohte (Bass, ATELIER Z BETA 6, Boh'S CUSTOM 6).
    •Aoyama Hideki (Drums, YAMAHA Signature).
Rob Halford is one of the first to support Babymetal together with Metallica and Dragonforce. Even Slipknot Corey Taylor and Corey son is a huge fan of Babymetal.
This show took place at the annual Alternative Press Music Awards (APMAs) in Cleveland Ohio on July 2016. Babymetal shared the stage with Judas Priest frontman and Metal God himself Rob Halford. Together, they sang Judas Priest classics “Painkiller” and “Breaking The Law.” Halford and Suzuka Nakamoto aka Su-Metal scream well together. Watch the performance and feel good about humanity. Babymetal start the show with "Karate" from their Metal Resistance Album. In "Breaking The Law" both Yuimetal and Moametal plays their custom "ESP Mini Arrow Guitar" together with Kami Band (Mikio Fujioka R.I.P 2018) & Takayoshi Ohmura, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. Judas Priest legend Rob Halford has revealed that he would love to collaborate with Babymetal. In a new interview with Metal Hammer magazine, Rob remembers performing with Babymetal at the 2016 Alternative Music Awards, where they played Judas Priest's Breaking The Law and Painkiller. Rob Halford think BABYMETAL are one of the most unique metal experiences in the world right now. Not only their appearances, and their style and everything that surrounds them visually but they’re an incredible band as well. I met the band a couple of years ago in America and they’re so passionate about metal, they know everything about metal music and they’ve created a very special feeling and experience within the entire world of metal. They work extremely hard to create something unique and I think it’s paying off and they’re doing such an amazing job. In fact, I was watching the new music video for ‘Starlight’ and even with one member leaving, they still sound great.”
Rob Halford joined BABYMETALfor their appearance at the 2016 Alternative Press Music Awards in Columbus, Ohio. He performed two PRIEST classics“Painkiller” and “Breaking The Law”.

The performance with Rob Halford was certainly not the most perfectly executed show, but just seeing them sharing a stage with an air of mutual respect is awesome. It's almost bizarre to see one of the founders of Heavy Metal in the UK of the 70s and a cute 18 year old Japanese modern Metal artist play air guitar together. And for a BABYMETAL fan it's a rare opportunity to see Su unbound by choreography.

I agree, it is not the best Babymetal video. The cameras weren't theirs; the audio desk wasn't theirs, and the crowd wasn't theirs. They were playing to people finishing their deserts at round tables.

Nice first reaction for Babymetal. Don't think I've ever seen the Rob Halford as one of the first intro songs to Babymetal before lol So you said Rob Halford came to their defense. You might now know (or maybe you do know), but Many HUGE bands have come to their defense against the elitist metalheads who don't want to accept Babymetal. Rob Zombie, Red Hot Chilipeppers, METALICA, KoRn just to name a few. Rob Zombie has been very vocal about them too. Babymetal has also performed with Metalica, Red hot chilipeppers (on more than one occasion), Bring Me the Horizon, Sabaton, even surprisingly enough, Lady Gaga!
In terms of their names, you mostly got the names right. So you have Moa, Yui, and Su. Or as they're called during performances Moametal, Yuimetal, and Su-Metal. Moametal (pronounced Mohwahmetal) is the dancer with pigtails and huge dimples in her cheeks when she smiles. Incidently both dancers will always have pigtails, and the main singer will always have her hair in a ponytail. It's sort of a hierarchy if you will of Babymetal. Yuimetal (pronounced Youweemetal, this is the one I think you had trouble with) is the one with the chubby babycheeks. And then you have Su-Metal (pronouced Sue-Metal). As I said, she's the one with the ponytail, and she's the one with the handmic. If you continue on this Babymetal journey, and I hope you do, you'll eventually come to a point where you notice that it is either Just Su and Moa, or Su and Moa and some other girl you don't recognize. Yui left the group in 2017/2018 due to health reasons. She left in late 2017, but it became official in 2018. So for a while it was just Su and Moa, and then they hire 3 dancers to take turns filling in the role of Yui's dancing spot (but never vocals). They called these 3 girls the avengers. You'll be able to tell the avengers out, as I mentioned earlier, by their hairstyle. They will have their hair down, but where they WOULD have had pigtails, instead they have little buns. That's the easiest way to tell the girls apart. There are other ways as well. Yui has thicker, fuller hair than Moa's, and as such her pigtails tend to be more curly and stick out more. Also the uniforms of Yui and Moa are the same, but they are subtly different than Su's. As such the Avenger's uniforms are also slightly different than Su's, or Moa's also. It's very subtle though.
And finally we come to the last part I wanted to mention. The fox god bit you saw in the beginning. Babymetal had a lot of fun in the creation of the band. They invented a lot of lore and story, thus the fox god. They also have their own hand gesture, which you saw in the video. Instead of the devil horns metalheads typically display, they display the fox sign with their hands which looks similar.
I think you're going to enjoy this band if you continue to go down what we refer to as the fox hole. Each song of theirs is unique. They like having positive messages in their songs like stop bullying forever, fight for what you believe in, never give up, and stuff like that. They also have their silly songs that are mostly just for fun like Gimmie Chocolate, Catch Me if You Can. They have their dark songs, like Rondo of Nightmare. And they have their lore songs which are mainly to help with the lore, like Babymetal Death. But don't do that one yet lol We'll let you know when to do that one. That is part of a trilogy. You just listened to the first song of the trilogy today, which was Headbanger. Which was talking about a young girl going to her first concert. The next in that trilogy is Akatsuki. There are 2 versions of that song. There's Akatsuki, and then Akatsuki Unfinished. I'd recommend both as both are quite good and the unfinished version is actually quite powerful. There's actually another version of headbanger too which I'd recommend you check out too at some point.. I don't remember the actual name for it, but I'm sure if you look up Babymetal Ave Marie you should be able to find it. It's almost an almost 10 minute long video, but worth it. After Akatsuki/Akatsuki Unfinished, then you'll be ready for Babymetal Death.
After these songs, you should be able to come to the realization that Babymetal thrives on theatrics and live performances. They have some good music videos, but it can easily be argued that they are always best live. They even tend to sound better live as the processing is taken away and you get to hear Su's natural voice instead of the slight autotune and other audiomagical things they do in the studio.
Anyhow, looking forward to seeing you react to more Babymetal. They have a huge fanbase and we're pretty passionate about this band, but we're a good lot.

Totally agree George - makes a big difference to the punters if the band are obviously enjoying themselves. I saw them with Sabaton and Wembley a few weeks back - only on stage to performance for 40 minutes or so - some new tracks and some old favourites. So, just like the Nightwish one, I'm going to guess the Babymetal songs - can't remember if you've done Road of Resistance so maybe that, definitely 'Megitsune (hoping the live version) - 'Karate' , 'Rondo of Nightmare' including Mischief of Metal Gods Kami Band intro. Possibly 'Papaya' - if you don't smile watching that then there's no hope for you 😂! I've got so many more chaps but I'll stop now - take good care of yourselves!😊

I have never smiled so much as I did when I first saw Babymetal live. Judas Priest was one of my favourites back in the day and love to see Rob supporting them - he never was one for being conventional and would love to see them collaborate one day.

Something amazing to watch is their set at Sonisphere is 2014. Too long to he a reaction video but that is when Babymetal won the West. They were just supposed to be playing a small sode stage but some grown adults started making plans to disruot the performance of what was at the time 3 children. They event organizer switched them to the main stage as a result and you can watch as at first the crowd is skeptical and the girls/kami vand are a bit nervous but as the aidience starts to get into it they step up their perfaormance and by the end they are calling for encores and their performance of Ijite, Dame, Zettai brought the house down!

The organisers did nothing shady . The reason for the move to main stage was Gimme Chocolate song going viral . It was early in the day , so they thought they may be around a thousand might be there, but fans had claimed their spaces early for the big bands later in the day . A lot of misinformation has been posted online . Things such as moved at last minute to main stage . The move was announced in Metal Hammer over a month before . Which annoyed the metal elitist who threatened to boo them and throw bottles at them in online posts . The story and their achievement at Sonisphere does not need any embellishment it was an incredible achievement. Comment

Quite a few in the crowd are fans of Nakamoto Suzuka and Sakura Gakuin who went along the ride when they formed Babymetal.
What makes this work, IMO, is the passion, love and heart the girls, and band, brings to every performance/song. It's very difficult to see this work with other girls and/or a different backing band, it was the perfect storm, the stars aligned when Kei Kobayashi formed Babymetal.

You guys probably already know this information however….
So you reacted to BabyMetal Road of Resistance LIVE 6 days ago and now you act as though you have never seen them before?
More information and suggestions below (if you decide to explore further.
BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno (Yui left in 2018 due to health reasons). Both Moa and Yui were 11 years old when the group began.
All three were friends and classmates who attended an idol school/group (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life (they attended regular school as well) the girls would learn and train at vocals, dancing, public speaking and etiquette, etc., graduate at age 15 and then move onto whatever entertainment path they chose or that suited their talents.
Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result.
At first Amuse showed no interest and the girls had only financing from Kobayashi. They performed at strip malls and small venues using clothes borrowed from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack. They became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues). Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia).
If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to LIVE performance videos as this is where they shine.
They have over 50 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more.
Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.)
Suggest reacting to these for a start.
Karate LIVE at 2016 Download Festival in the UK where 60,000+ British metal heads sing along with the girls.
    Megitsune LIVE at Budokan 2021
    Syncopation LIVE
Yava LIVE with Kami Band intro at 2017 Fox Festival
    Tales of the Destinies LIVE
Catch Me If You Can LIVE with Kami Band intro
At their concert in Yokohama on April 1 it was announced that a permanent third member Momoko Okazaki (who is also a graduate of Sakura Gakuin and has been appearing with them LIVE since 2019) has officially become the third member.
Their new album in my opinion that released March 24 is amazing with so many different styles.

I'm so grateful that Rob put his stamp of approval on Babymetal, but man, that venue sucked. Terrible sound, bad camera work, only about ten fans that gave a shit, tables on the damn floor, just the wrong time and place for the right thing to happen.

The venue wasn't their meat and potatoes. Babymetal picked up an award for best metal music video for Karate, which they played live onstage just before the Halford mashup. Audio and camera work wasn't great on that either. It's noticeable when Babymetal don't control those inputs into a show.

UK reactors and musicians are more acceptable of BABYMETAL and Japanese Metal/Rock style of songs and music, not like some reactors and musicians from US, they are still sleeping in the box with their 70' style of Metal music and so hard to accept others, they are brainwashed that to play Metal must wear demons kind of dress, demons kind of lyrics, female singer or female bands must half naked on stage, Japanese did the opposite and their music and shows are so awesome, LOVEBITES, BABYMETAL, HANABIE, NEMOPHILA, BAND-MAID, ASTERISM, GARCHARIC SPIN, BRIDEAR, MARY'S BLOOD, TRIDENT-JAPAN, 80% of Rock/metal Bands in Japan are female....

I am not sure that I have a strong opinion this time; on last week's reaction, I loved the Babymetal band, but I didn't much care for the vocals. This week, I thought that the vocal performance was terrific, and the band was good, so overall I'd say that the Babymetal track was better than last week. The encore tracks with Rob Halford, were, frankly, disappointing -- Halford's voice didn't sound good or right; and as terrific as I suspect the band is, they did not rip into the Judas Priest songs like they could have. I'd have to give those a shoulder shrug.

"Music was nice ..."), you went in with your preconceptions and prejudices, determined not to like anything they did and you say "they were bad" and "very very poor" entirely because you believe the inaccurate, misinformed and ignorant assumptions about how (and especially why) they were formed.

@@TheThamesmen I will speak on that, I also saw this tour. BABYMETAL were great! Although they were added on to the Sabaton tour quite late on, so 95%+ of the tickets had already been sold to Sabaton fans by then (covid delayed tour, so a lot of time to get tickets before BABYMETAL were added) and the crowd was definitely theirs. I couldn't get a ticket for the pit so had to sit quite far away. BABYMETAL have done a collaboration with Joakim Brodén singer of Sabaton before on their song "Oh! Majinai", but still I felt like a lot of Sabaton fans there were discovering them for the first time (maybe Jarkko is one of them ;)
They were a preband in slot 2/3 (Lordi was the opener). So the sound setup was pretty focused on Sabaton's performance and the crowd wasn't as insane as usual, but they still did a superb show.
As for Sabaton, the whole stage was setup for them. So the show was pretty bombastic with explosions and constant fire.. and a tank sometimes shooting out stuff centre stage as a giant drum riser. I'm not so much into power metal usually (the whole uplifting major chord progressions thing) but it was entertaining, anyhow (I've seen Sabaton at a festival before in 2016)
The stand out moment for me was the "Christmas Truce" performance - about the British and German soldiers in WW1 pausing their battles on xmas day to sing carols, drink and have a game of footy together. That was beautiful and moving.
