Nice reaction and thanks for sharing this updated BM guide. Recent fun fact: - Last month they played at San Francisco along with Dethklok as part of the Babyklok Tour started in 2023, and DragonForce was an invited band playing a short set. - Later they went to Las Vegas playing at Sick New World Festival in the same stage Slipknot returns, you can find clips of them enjoying the show and a short interview excited and looking for a collab with them, Slipknot was another legendary band that support BM since early era and the girls (Su and Moa) got a short cameo in one of Corey Taylor song, he's the lead singer. Answering some of your questions: - Road Of Resistance is definitely a must watch, especially the official live in Japan MV made in 2015. - The Student Council President in Sakura Gakuin show was an honorific title gave it to one of the senior students doing the last year unlike regular schools where the president is elected by popular vote, but don't quote me on that, better look for SG fans answers (fukeis). - The Five Fox Festival and the etiquettes to attend the show got certain controversy around, especially Silver Fox Festival with kids at elementary schools and adults (grandpa) about 60, and also international fans complains about getting the tickets via lottery and not filling the range of age. I get to know in time that doing these type of concerts is a cultural thing and very common in Jpop live shows, i guess BM wanted to try this at least once, but they didn't again till these days. - The Metalverse costume is similar to BM because they're part of BM lore as a similar BM group but from an alternative world or universe, although the name is also a pun intended play on words with "metaverse" which is referring to virtual worlds. - Starlight is the first song of the official Trilogy of Lights, a set of songs to represent the ongoing circle of birth, death and rebirth, those are the last songs on Metal Galaxy album (2019) and are very special for some fans since is unofficially a tribute to YuiMetal withdrawal and Mikio Fujioka's departure (beloved Kami Band guitarist) R.I.P. My suggestion is wait to get there and enjoy at least a couple of more meaningful songs first such The One (official MV or live at Tokyo Dome 2016 is even better). Keep enjoying more BM songs and see you next time 🦊🤘🔥
Thanks for this reaction. 20:46 because in Japan it's the start of the fiscal year (Sakura season) and because Babymetal is probably playing a prank by choosing April 1st. 29:37 a lot of these ideas from from the girls, the producer tries to fit it into the performances, shows, etc. I think in this case team Babymetal know their are on average more girls/women among their fans than the average metal band. And often these women stand aside when their are moshpits, etc. so the first time they did such a thing, it was just 2 shows: girls/women and boys/men. and we did get circlepits, etc. at the first ladies only show. 42::50 well, Metalverse project implies: they are Babymetal in an other universe/other timeline, so that they have similar outfits makes sense.
I think the average of women among fans is the same as other metal bands that isn't extreme metal (ie deathcore), though from an age standpoint, parents are more likely to bring their children to BM shows, at least outside of Japan.
@@Hymnodic it's also very much about the ladies on stage being women, even kids. Wanting to see more women in the crowd. Then again: Japanese TV claimed: 1/3 of Babymetal fans is women and at the live show, it seems their are less women than that, so by creating these shows, I'm certain they were trying to get more of those women to the live shows.
After watching a few of your reactions, I'm super glad you're finally watching a guide. And this one was the most recent one and it's done pretty well. All of the information is accurate and pertinent, leaving out the deeper details a newbie doesn't need to know yet. So how should you consume Babymetal? From the beginning to the present, and in small chunks so you can get the vibe of their growth as many of the fans did. Of course you can binge it, but taking them in slowly will give you the best experience of who and what they are, and what they can do. And you can also put yourself in a fan's shoes and 'live' as they did as the girls grow, mature, adapt to Yui's departure, and Momoko's introduction. You'll get introduced to the Avengers, and the roles they played in BM and beyond BM. And during that time, you'll see Suzuka's teeth get straighter, her english improve, Moa's personality that earned her the moniker as the Angel of Love, Yui's as the Angel of Dance, and Momoko as the Angel of Joy. There is ALOT of material to go through, almost 14 years worth of material and it will take some time if you dive into the foxhole. There is also a side tunnel that will lead you in to Sakura Gakuin, where you'll see the girls interact with each other and watch them grow. Every girl in Sakura Gakuin is the best of the best at Amuse, and the training cadre teaches them every aspect of the entertainment industry so they can decide for themselves what they want to do when they graduate at 15 years old. The biggest draw of Sakura Gakuin is the moral and characteristics they learn and hone while in SG, learning their personalities, and most importantly is how they interact with each other. Most of the girls live in the Amuse dormitories and attend a regular school in the day time. They practice at night and on weekends. It was said that Suzuka had commuted between Tokyo and Hiroshima (her home town) every friday via bullet train (about 4-5 hours each way) and spend the weekend practicing with the whole group.
Nice reaction, well done with taking the time to watch this most up to date guide ... just a word to the wise - you may be less confused, they will still throw you a few curve balls.🦊 You could watch their songs in chronological order, you could hop around at random - either way works, do what you feel would be best for you. As others have already said 'Starlight' and the other songs of the Trilogy of Lights - 'Shine' and 'Arkadia' - are essential viewing.
Great reaction, and they will be a test later 🤣 really looking forward to Road of Resistance. And Starlight reactions ( you being told about trilogy of lights ) . Look forward to your continuing journey down the foxhole 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Thanks for the reaction to my guide. Yes, Starlight will definitely be worth checking out. However, it was recently performed again at Momo's birthday concert Legend MM which marked the first time it was ever performed as a trio without an Avenger. It may be worth waiting until that comes out on Blu-ray this July to check it out. Starlight, Shine, and Arkadia are all apart of the 'trilogy of Lights' and are worth checking out in that order together, or at least back to back. Arkadia was also performed at LMM, but unfortunately we don't have one with Shine yet. If you have any other questions, let me know.
I sincerely want to thank you for this very amazing guide. 🙏🏼 I learned so much. 🥰 I’ll take note of what you said and will inform you if I have more questions. Thank you ❤️
Yay! Great reaction! Glad you got a chance to do the guide and know more about them! To answer some of your questions: *17:13**: "Momo's Conspiracy":* Making fun of the crazy idea that Momo sabatoged Budokan Red Night 2014, where Yui fell off stage. Many theorized that Yui's fall led to long-term back injuries that became the reason why she left (unproven), thus allowing Momo to eventually become 3rd member. This is of course ludicrous, as Momo was just ~10 years old then, lol. *19:47**: "Babymetal Death":* Desu and Death sounds similar, so Babymetal says "Desu" with a lisp, to sound like "Death". Now they have a cute and metal way of introducing themselves. *Regarding your Babymetal Journey:* Just do what ever song you want! There's no particular order. Old, new, Su-metal solos, Black Babymetal, etc. All are good. Just do your thing! Do keep a look out for specific performances commentors would suggest, since they are listed for a good reason! Outside of their discography, there are also many interviews, fun moments, random on-stage collabs, backstage clips that are also fun to explore. Example: There was a very fun and wholesome tour gag in 2016, as Babymetal supported Red Hot Chili Peppers tour. At the last show, RHCP's drummer Chad Smith played the drums for Babymetal's cover of Judas Priest, then proceeded to surprise Su-metal onstage with a birthday cake. *On the song Starlight:* YES, absolutely! It is a wonderful song by itself. Further, many fans believe this to be an unofficial tribute to the passing of Kami Band guitarist Mikio Fujioka, as he was an avid stargazer. I should mention that Babymetal has neither confirmed nor denied this opinion. Starlight is song 1 of "The Trilogy of Lights", so you must also do the rest 🤗. 1). Starlight - Grief/Remembrance. @@AFoxSong Probably a good idea haha. More of an inside joke with fans I think lol. No worries, some humor makes total sense in your head, then It cones out and you’re like 😅 Haha.
You should definitely check out Starlight. You'll love it. Actually, Starlight is the first of 3 songs known as the Trilogy of Light. It is recommended that you watch all three in a row. They are Starlight, Shine, and Arkadia. I'm sure you will really enjoy all three of them. As for Moa singing, you will be recommended Moabanger. That is for sure one to check out but I prefer GJ, which she performed in the 10 Babymetal Budokan shows. Either way, she has the cutest voice ever heard. 😀
I really appreciate when reactors want to know more about them and react to a guide, specially this long. I believe that knowing their background and how they originated is relevant to better understand what they do. So, good job!! "Road of Resistance" (Live in Japan) is an excellent video to know how their big format shows looks like... even though it's from 9 years ago (it's crazy when you think about it). "Starlight"? Sure, you may need to react to the Trilogy of Lights in order: "Starlight", "Shine" and "Arkadia". The trilogy closes their Metal Galaxy album (2019). Until next time! 🤘🦊
Sukura Gakuin is the child stars unit of the concept of schoollife in 2010-2021 by Amuse.( Amuse is the biggest listed entertainment company in Japan). Amuse has a lot of child stars (acting for TV. Movies. etc) . And Amuse made the unit as the education program for their child stars. Therefor the unit members are only selected from their child stars and are very beautiful and humble. The members act an idolunit and learn a lot of catgorys'skill (singging, dancing, talking. etc) by professionals of Amuse. (with acting for TV. Movies. etc ) The members have to graduate the unit on 15years old and transfer the specific section (actor, musician.etc) in Amuse.(Most of members become an actress.)😀
The old Sakura Gakuin stuff is really quite good. Not only the music, whether or not that interests you, but they have a lot of content with the young members of babymetal just being themselves, such as the Nendo Tests or pranks among other things. I for one would enjoy seeing you watch some of those.
Starlight is a yes (as part of what fans call the Trilogy of Light), if/when you checkout Shine, go for the Legend M (Moa's Bday concert) performance of it. Given all Su and Moa had gone through at the time, it's especially emotional just watching the two perform that.... And the choreo Moa performs is almost like interpretive dance, very different from other Shine performance. 😁😁😁😁🤘🦊🤘
They use their uniforms as armour. They even gave Interviews in their uniforms after the first few Interviews that tried to put them in normal idol costumes. We can guess that the uniform idea was in fact the udea of Babymetal or one of their female handlers.
And of Onedari Daisakusen there is one version from their 10th Anniversary were Moa performed this song without Yui but with Dancing Girls that heir Choreographer delivered As far as we know they should dance without any interactions with Moa, but Moa had other ideas...
This is a video that does a pretty good job of explaining the history of the BM, but unfortunately it is too short to tell the history of the BM.😚 If you keep up the reaction videos, I'm sure the kind people will tell you all about it!😆 🔥🤘🦊 From🇯🇵

👍 👍 Yes Moa is a talented singer in her own right so check out: Moa taking lead vocals on Headbanger (Moabanger) on her 20th birthday. Moa performing Onedari Daisakusen solo at Budokan 2021 Moa performing GJ! (Good Job!) solo also at Budokan 2021 Also the Japanese version of Elevator Girl is much superior to the English version (I think the majority here will agree in this). Good luck.
How Koba convinced them? He was the highest director of Sakura Gakuin, with other worlds the highest qualified male that they would see in their life. Exactly this was his Problem, the girls are heaviöy neglected abd have extremly low levels of self worth, for a chance to speak with him regularly the girls would do anything, if you furtger consider that Su was already under her own contract with him. I really don't want to know how often rumours occured that Su was expecting his child... And the Songs of Black Babymetal. He had an agreement withbthem that he could use anything of their talks to write songs about it. Yui and Moa had their problems with boys. Zhey really dared to describe them as fat. We know how tiny they are. Black Babymetal were Moas and yuis evil twins so in Onedari Daisakzsen they rap how they could getvmore money out of their Daddy. One lof their lines was "But Dadday, you know I will marry you anyway..." . And in Sis Anger he thought how they would like to answer these boys. In japanese you have very few bad words, instead you loose honorifics, but if you don't use honorifics as a female you sound simple minded. And this songhas no honorifics Moa and Yui loved this song. They might never dare to speak this way but they were able to sing this song. I think I already nentioned their sister grou Perfume that was quitevshocked that all three girls of Babymetal spoke to Koba "Daddy".
Their whole Band is setup as a Dummy school project. And in this Dummy school they became the School presidents. In their real school they left as early as possible. The idol path is a high risk path. If you are still an idol with twenty your career will probably end in the adult Film industry. This was one of the reasons why amuse really counted changes to nursing schools as a success. Every member of Sakura Gakuin was more or less one of the Winters. Their are too many cheap career pathes for so called idols. Amuse was known that everyone who worked their was looking as a famous actor. If you hadcreached it into theirvdatabases there were really agent who wanted to take care of you. Su always got Warnung that her projects were not financed. While Kobametal was the director if Sakura Gakuin this was his Personal Sideproject, since Amuse was not interested in Metal. They only started to finance Babymetal when Su graduated. If you want to see tears then the graduation of Su is a good time. Yui and Moa only had admissions for the last Babymetal concert! Amuse wanted to create a new group around her And Kobametal fought like a lion for his idea. But since he was not sure if he would win he didn't dare to tell zhe girls anything. So Su, Yui and Moa really thought it were their last days together. Their privacy is handle like a state secret. It is said that bigger Newspapers got a visit from Kobametal and that he told them about his Adoptive Daughters and they got the Massage.
Great choice.

you should react to momobanger
👍 👍
Yes Moa is a talented singer in her own right so check out:
Moa taking lead vocals on Headbanger (Moabanger) on her 20th birthday.
Moa performing Onedari Daisakusen solo at Budokan 2021
Moa performing GJ! (Good Job!) solo also at Budokan 2021
Also the Japanese version of Elevator Girl is much superior to the English version (I think the majority here will agree in this).
Good luck.
Yes agree Japanese version 🤘🏼🦊
@martinmetal7481 👍 👍
Thank you for this! I’ll add it to my list 🥰
My only criticism is please pause when talking because a lot of information gets talked over but other than that awesome job.
