Welcome back and great reaction ... unlike 'Gimme Chocolate' which had the studio audio dubbed onto the live performance this one was all live. Also this was later in the show, so the guys in skeleton suits (Babybones) who had been waving guitars round to a pre-recorded backing track had been replaced by the Kami Band for the encores.
This was the last big show where that happened - the Kami Band became BABYMETAL's full time support for all live shows at their next big concerts - they were at the Budokan in Tokyo (think the Japanese equivalent of Carnegie Hall or Madison Square Garden) in March 2014.
The Kami Band are some of the very best session musicians to be found in Japan. In this performance you saw Mikio Fujioka (RIP January 2018) playing the guitar solo you went back to, Leda Cygnus was the other guitarist. On his 6 string bass was BOH and the drummer was Hideki Aoyama.
As they are session musicians they all have their own bands and projects so there are more musicians who will step in when they have date clashes with BABYMETAL concerts and tours. There have been a lot of Kami Band members but the main hard core and the ones you will see in most live performance videos other than the four I named above will include guitarists Takayoshi Ohmura and ISAO.
Kami means god or spirit, so the Kami Band are the gods of guitar, bass and drums summoned from the dead to support BABYMETAL in live performances (BABYMETAL have their own lore) ... which is also why they are wearing the traditional white burial robes and corpse face paint.
Since the end of 2017 the robes are black and since 2019 the face paint has been replaced by masks.
Also for the lengthy tours outside of Japan since 2019 the Kami Band of the West (American musicians Chris kelly, CJ Masciantonio, Clint Tustin and drummer Anthony Barone have provided the instrumental support for BABYMETAL.
'Headbanger' is about a girl going to her first concert on her 15th birthday, but she is also lamenting her childhood is over and life will never be the same, so she is etching this special night of her 15th into her heart so she will never forget.
This concert was Su-metal's 16th birthday party - she was 14 when they recorded the song in 2012.
As you saw, they are masters of crowd control - a large part of the choreo is leading the crowd - if you noticed they were all jumping as Yui and Moa jumped, all pumping their fist when given the cue by Yui and Moa.
They keep that energy up for the whole concert - this was the 13th song I think - they had two more to go.
For another reaction I will second TheTeufelpanzerVI's suggestion for 'Road of Resistance' live in Japan - that or 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' live at Sonisphere UK 2014.

@@PaleHorseShabuShabu They did a couple more shows at the start of 2014 - I think one was in Taiwan where BABYMETAL did a show with Chthonic - but this was the last 'big' concert before the Kami Band took over "full time".

The "IDZ" performance on Asahi TV is that infamous one with the Kami Band and Babybones also, all pretending to play over a backing track. I don't know what really happened there. Su was clearly singing live though. The audience was nuts. 🤣

If you want to enjoy the anomalies of Kami band, Rondo of Nightmare and Tales of the Destinies are good choices.
If you want to enjoy BABYMETAL as a whole, Road of Resistance (Live in Japan) or ijime dame zettai (Sonisphere Fes) would be good.
All the other songs are also great, but I forced myself to choose them!

Always ready for more Babymetal. I would do Rondo of Nightmare next, really showcases the musicians. They couldn't always afford live musicians, this show was before they released their first album by a couple months. Once they released the album, they only used live musicians.
Live performances are beteer than music videos as a rule' Babymetal feeds off the crowd, and you can hear the energy in their performance. They don't feel a song is complete without a crowd.

This one is good. Road of Resistance, Live from Japan is arguably their magnum opus. There are many good songs by them, but that is the one that turned most skeptics into accepting them as the talent they are.
Oh, and if you see the band in skeleton suits..that isn't a real band...thats fake. These people in the white robes...they are the real deal. masters of their tools. Kami Band is amazing and really anything they are in you know you're in for a treat.

Welcome back to the Foxhole and BabyMetal journey.🦊🤘🔥
Glad to see you're back with this great suggestion.
Another nice reaction, and just like you saw the party on BM live concerts is wild, especially with this song becoming super fun into something like a cult.👀
Last month they started the Sabaton's Europe Tour, everyone is having a blast with them coming back to the stage in this live tour and more is coming such the Babyklok Tour in the US along with Dethklok and another return to UK and Europe for a headline tour.
Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! is one of BM fans favorite and got special meaning too. Song is about a 15 years old girl celebrating her birthday going to her first live concert, probably metal, while having melancholy for leaving her childhood behind.
Isn't about any of our girls but they embraced this song like it was made for them, you'll find many special versions of this, even when they celebrate their 20th Birthday.
15 is an important coming of age for Japanese girls, 20 is another important date.
This was at Legend 1997 (that's the title of this live concert referring to SuMetal birthyear and is the same concert you saw them performing Gimme Chocolate!!) in 2013 celebrating SuMetal 16th Birthday, and the whole concert was special, if you want to know the rest of the songs finishing this, those are:
    - "Akatsuki" Unfinished Version, a beautiful SuMetal solo version with only a piano behind, the original song is a power/speed metal balad
    - "Babymetal Death", be ready for this insane ending,
The live concert and also this song got plenty of tributes to the greatest metal bands, like Metallica and X-Japan, specially Yoshiki, the gong at the end is one of those, you'll find more and plenty of this to add to their lore.
The official MV is also creepy for some fans, I guess the organ gave that effect, you'll also see the neckbrace there for the first time which is a tribute to Yoshiki from X-Japan.
Another thing that you don't see so much here in their live performance is, when YuiMetal and MoaMetal are having fun with cryo or smoke gun, the choreography on this part is with them down on their knees and doing the "dogeza hedoban" which is like bowing down back and forth summoning the metal spirit represented by the neckbrace while SuMetal is standing with the mic rise up and her relentless death stare, that's another moment we called -NotACult-
The Kami Band here are insane set of elite musicians who were send to help with the metal sound, "kami" means roughly "god", they're wearing burial white robes and corpse face paint to represent those spiritual entities.
They rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarrists).
    They are:
    - Míkio Fujioka, god of guitar, a beloved member, sadly he passed away in 2018. (R.I.P.)
    - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums tracks.
    - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but her fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. You can see at the end (when SuMetal is crawling upstairs) his head got written "Happy Birthday".
    - Hideki Aoyama,, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japan music scene.
I would love if you can go with the rest of the songs of this special live concert but if you want another song that ranks high as a favorite you can watch:
    - _"Ijime Dame Zettai"_ live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 and you can witness a turning point in their career and a different type of live performance unlike this one with big top notch production.
You got it right about the industrial touch kinda Rammstein, they're friends with that band and SuMetal admire the level of professionalism on stage.
If you really look for something with Slipknot vibes then you should listen "Catch Me If You Can" with Kami Band intro live at Budokan 2014, you can find a safe clip to react at GuilhermeCait, either way i hope to see you next week with more BM songs.
    See you next time!🦊🤘❤

A classic live performance from the most original Metal band ever conceived. Their finale from this gig is one of the most Metal show finishers I've seen and it's called 'B-A-B-Y-M-E-T-A-L DEATH' . Great reaction again to the always fascinating Babymetal.

"Headbanger" Legend 1997 Apocalypse concert is a epic show celebrating Babymetal Su-Metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) 16th Birthday 🎉 or Seitansai @ the Makuhari Messe. Spot the Pikachu in the middle of the crowd, you won't miss it!.
    Headbanger (Babymetal song):-
"Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" (ヘドバンギャー!!, Hedobangyā!!) is a single by the Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal. Released in Japan on July 4, 2012 in promotion for the album Sakura Gakuin 2012 Nendo: My Generation, the single serves as the third single from the debut album Babymetal. It is also the band's first solo audio release to be released commercially.
    •Single: Babymetal.
•Album: Babymetal and Sakura Gakuin 2012. •Nendo: My Generation.
    •Language: Japanese.
    •Released: July 4, 2012.
    •Genre: Power Metal, Heavy Metal.
    •Length: 14:44.
    •Label: Juonbu.
    •Songwriter: Edometal, Nakametal, Narasaki.
    •Producer: Kobametal.
    •Narametal: (arrangement).
    Babymetal singles chronology:-
"Babymetal / Kiba of Akiba": (2012)
    "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!": (2012)
    "Ijime, Dame, Zettai": (2013)
    Background and release:-
Unlike previous tracks released by the band, which had her vocal recorded in segments within the songs, Nakamoto had her lines recorded in a single take several times. She had been told to sing and find a story within the music. By the time she had comprehended the story behind the lyrics, she grew capable of singing the entire song naturally. When Mizuno and Kikuchi listened to her shouting "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" for the first time, they felt as if they had seen another cool side of her, surprised by the vocal power. Additionally, the single introduced the members to the whispering style of singing, with the A-side's "Kiero!" (Disappear!) and the B-side's "Uki Uki Midnight". Kobametal was inspired to use it to contrast traditional death growls.
"Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" was announced as a single on April 27, 2012, with a release date set for July 7, 2012. The single was released in two versions: a standard edition, available via CD and digital formats, and a physical limited Hedo-ban ("Head edition"), which contains a CD and a "neck corset" (actually a cervical collar) for headbanging training.[5] Both editions of the single feature the songs "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" and "Uki Uki ★ Midnight" (ウ・キ・ウ・キ★ミッドナイト, "Exhilarating Midnight"), along with instrumental versions (labeled as "Air Vocal ver."). The standard version contains an enhanced CD with a bonus music video of "Babymetal Death", which can only be played on a computer. The artwork of the standard edition depicts a lyric in the song, specifically when the girl is headbanging with the corset, with the crimson-colored moon in the background, as well as the band name appearing at the top. The limited edition artwork depicts a temple scripture of the "Corset of Legend" with the song title spelled out in the middle.
Before the physical international release of the song, its title was written ambiguously as either "Head Bangya!!" or "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!", the latter of which is officially used in the international re-release of Babymetal and all future releases. The music video uploaded to the band's UA-cam channel initially had the former name, though it was switched to the latter in 2015; the version uploaded by Toy's Factory consistently retained the official title.
    Tekina Remix:-
During the live performances Legend "D" Su-metal Seitansai at Akasaka Blitz on December 20, 2012, and Legend "1997" Su-metal Seitansai at Makuhari Messe on December 21, 2012, a remix titled "Night of 15 mix." was performed, containing more elements of electronic music. The former took place on Suzuka Nakamoto's actual fifteenth birthday, while the latter was the opening song for the concert. Remixed by DJ'Tekina//Something, the song was later released as part of Social Reform promotional editions of the single "Ijime, Dame, Zettai", and later appeared on DJ'Tekina//Something's remix album Kawa-EDM (2016), re-subtitled as "Tekina Remix".
    KamiBand:-
The KamiBand are the instrumentalists (or backing band) in BABYMETAL - Each member is a "god (Kami) of music" summoned by The Fox God stage by stage. All the Kamis are male except for the Babymetal girls. The Kami Band wear corpse face paint and white robes depicting Japanese 🇯🇵 spirit. The Kami Band have their own jobs and side-projects in addition to BABYMETAL.
    Babymetal original Trio:-
    •Suzuka Nakamoto: Su-Metal (2010 - present).
    •Moa Kikuchi: Moametal (2010 - present).
•Yui Mizuno: Yuimetal (2010 - Left Babymetal in 2018 due to undisclosed health issue).
Current & Past Members Of Kami Band Who Perform At The "MAKUHARI MESSE":-
•Leda Cygnus (Guitar, ESP BLACK CUSTOM).
•Mikio Fujioka (Guitar, ESP BLACK & GREY CUSTOM) R.I.P January 2018.
    •Daisuke 'BOH' Bohte (Bass, ATELIER Z BETA 6, Boh'S CUSTOM 6).
    •Aoyama Hideki (Drums, YAMAHA Signature).

Headbanger is pretty similar to Gimme Chocolate in terms of the general vibe (though as you pointed out, it is a better song) but Babymetal has much more range than this. I would suggest checking out Rondo of Nightmare live at Budokan Black Night, Ijime Dame Zettai live at Sonisphere 2014, or if you want something more recent to see a bit of how they've changed, the official video for Mirror Mirror.

Great reaction! Yes, they have an endless tank of energy which is really impressive considering that even late in the concert like this song was (3rd from the last) they never let up. This is the first song in a trilogy that some refer to as the Trilogy of Death, which were the last three songs of this concert. The next would be Akatsuki (unfinished ver.) which is a ballad that Su-metal performs solo, and the final song is Babymetal Death that closed the concert and is absolutely the wildest thing you may ever see in a live show.

Yep this is better because this is an actual live performance with real live audio and the band playing live. And this is what they are good at. Not to mention their insane crowd control. And kudos to that particular audience, they were awesome!
Please notice that BABYMETAL is just one word.

They don't have any 'bad' songs, so just can pick whatever you like of course, but if you're still unsure and really want to see some completely different styles by them I would suggest one of these songs:
    -Akatsuki (Unfinished ver.)
    -BxMxC
    -BABYMETAL DEATH (legend 1997)
    -⬆️⬇️⬅️➡️BBAB
    -METALIZM
    -Iine (iine)
    -Shanti Shanti Shanti
    -Rondo of Nightmare
There's a lot more, but these are just some examples of what else you can expect with this group 👍

Lol from the same concert, babymetal death, even the 70s metal guys would not have had the balls to crucify a 16 year old girl on stage. The band is called the Kami Band, they are insanely talented. There are actually two, East and West Kami Band. The East ones are basically for asian live tours, the West one is mainly western musicians for Americas and Europe.

    • @Jordan-Ramses
      @Jordan-Ramses Рік тому

There is no Christianity in Japan. It didn't take balls. Babymetal doesn't try to offend anyone.
I don't think your description of the Kami Band is accurate. The Japanese Kami Band did everything until 2019. The West Kamis did the recent shows in Japan. It seems like the Japanese Kami Band might be retired? Dunno. I think the West Kamis are better at the newer songs.

a lot different to the previous video of theirs you reacted to, this song was indeed heavier, it had dark elements and in some areas felt quite disturbing, a little like the Slipknot vibe you spoke of, and with the addition of their J pop vocals, it had "cuteness", now that's something I never thought I'd ever put in a comment regarding a metal song, and amazingly it all worked

  • @rah2287
    @rah2287 Рік тому +6

“I want to know who the people playing the instruments are”.
I will leave this again. Perhaps you didn’t have a chance to read it last time. (Below)
BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno (Yui left in 2018 due to health reasons). Both Moa and Yui were only 11 when the group began.
All three were friends and classmates who attended an idol school (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life the girls would learn and train to be idols and graduate at age 15 to move onto whatever entertainment path they chose.
Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result.
At first Amuse showed no interest and the girls had only financing from Kobayashi. They performed at strip malls and small venues using clothes borrowed from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack. They became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues) and Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia).
If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to LIVE performance videos as this is where they shine.
They have over 50 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more.
Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.)
Suggest reacting to these for a start.
Karate LIVE at 2016 Download Festival in the UK where 60,000+ British metal heads sing along with the girls.
    Megitsune LIVE at Budokan 2021
    Syncopation LIVE
Yava LIVE with Kami Band intro at 2017 Fox Festival
Road of Resistance LIVE in Japan
    Tales of the Destinies LIVE
Catch Me If You Can LIVE with Kami Band intro
At their concert in Yokohama on April 1 it was announced that a permanent third member Momoko Okazaki (who is also a graduate of Sakura Gakuin and has been appearing with them LIVE since 2019) has officially become the third member.
Their new album in my opinion that released March 24 is amazing with so many different styles.
Good luck and hope to see you again.
