I am so happy I came across your channel today and have watched several videos so far. Not certain what it is, but I needed your warmth, talents, creativity and graciousness in my life. After losing my dear husband two years ago, I have just been floundering so to speak. And being 75, I cannot do things like I used to. I thoroughly enjoyed watching your family do amazing things. Heck I may even try making homemade bread again and grilling a delicious steak. Blessings to you and yours. ❤
I love how you show the realness of your farm and cottage. Outdoor spaces get cluttered up and we have to be intentional about resetting them. Yours is beautiful and simple. Thanks for sharing!
I love the lights, they give such a warmth and ambience. In northern bc, it doesnt get dark til 10 pm. Even so, thankyou for your inspiration, God bless to you and yours!
Beautiful! Miss those times when we’d all sit outside to eat around the table. When our oldest daughter got married and they’d come over we were always outside finally 1 fall evening we ate dinner in the dining room and he remarked on the fact we do eat inside.:)
Denver Steak. Yes! From the top of the ribs on the chuck. Yours looks extra Delicious! Love the pizza oven too! I would love to have one but for the time being my wood fired oven for pizza and bread will have to continue to be my wood stove. I know how much work goes into making videos such as yours. That’s why I love coming back to your channel often. I get to see and appreciate just how much fulfillment & joy you and your family get out of taking the extra time to make your meal not only a production but a celebration as well. Love your channel! Thank You!
You both have wonderful calming storytelling voices. Thank you for sharing your sweet moments caught in time, they bring a smile to my face and a tear to my eye.
These vlog-y videos have me swooning! Also, the outdoor space is major inspiration. We just purchased a Craigslist Big Green Egg and I’m excited to set the outdoor space and make it special. Thanks for this video. ♥️
Watching your outdoor backyard adventures brings back fond memories of raising my family. Always enjoy your videos and seeing all the beauty of creating life with your family.
This is such a beautifully done video. You guys are so artistic and raw and inspirational and fun! My husband and I live on a little acreage in South Dakota and have slowly been making it come alive with life- vegetable gardens, perennial gardens, tree plantings, chickens, and of course our 4 sons! You guys inspire me and I am encouraged by the perspective you continually share- that this way of life isn’t easy, yet it is full and good and so wonderful to experience and share with those around us. ❤ Ps. I have that artichoke wine stopper too and it made me smile to see you have it too.
Elliott Homestead, you have a beautiful way of captivating your audience! Not only is your property beautiful along with your family, but the backdrop of your property just makes it all amazing!! Best homesteading family all the way around as far as I’m concerned!! Will have to try those Denver steaks👍🏼take care.
Porter road is the best, love it I’m in Los Angeles, CA . After I sowed one of your videos I ordered and love it ❤! Yes was said on video it’s his space his design 😂.
We finally added on to our back porch & doubled our concrete back patio so we could do more cooking outsie. Now, to move the chickens farther away so we don't have the flys so bad around the food. But we have horses in the pasture on the north and pigs at the neighbor to the south, so maybe we will just have drinks outsde around the fire pit. Ha!
@@theelliotthomestead yes! That is a great reminder. A few years ago we had one of those giant warehouse fans that we found on craigslist and made the back porch. Much more enjoyable at our old place. Excuse me while I go search marketplace and craigslist for fans lol
Wow Jenny, so many beautiful things and that cake is on my mind....looks delicious. I love that big blue urn and the old silverware. I'm going to look at your shop soon.
Plant way more! That's actually what she was saying, that if you just plant a couple of seeds they will all turn into 1 single plant. Her "bush" of clinatro is just like a million single tall plants there
For a short period of time, no. If left with the salt for way too long, then yes, the meat will eventually become dried out. But salting for a bit (think 30-45 minutes) before cooking helps the salt permeate the meat and flavor it deeply. Personal opinion, but it works well for us.

So sorry for your loss. I’m touched that you found something helpful from our videos. It’s never a bad time for homemade bread and grilled steak!
Denver cut is legit our favorite. We have a good friend who owns an amazing butcher shop. Nothing beats a Denver
You and your family make me smile. ❤ you create lots of cozyness and beauty. That dinner table outdoors was heavenly.
You are so kind, thank you!
Once again…a joy to see more glimpses of family life & Stuart sharing the spotlight!
Thank you!

Thank you! That’s seems true about all our spaces.
You have a beautiful life. 😊 The area is absolutely gorgeous, great views...and a lovely home life. Thank you for sharing with us!
You're welcome!
Making beautiful memories .
Food does taste better outside. It tastes better cooked outside and eaten outside too. This makes me want to set up an outdoor kitchen too.
California gal here. Love seeing your homestead and also your red nails. 😊
Thank you! 🤗
We love everything about this video.

We love cilantro too! It is delicious on top of roasted beets and balsamic as well (add feta or goat cheese too). Yum!
That was lovely to watch! An exhale at the end of a long day ❤️
I love how the dog is supervising the ciabatta prep😂
Supervising or scheming!

Meant to say our son in law remarked about it.

Thank you so much!
I never knew that was the way to sow cilantro! I feel like a fool. No wonder I never get that much! Thanks!
Glad to help
You have inspired me girl!! Going to create a beautiful outdoor dinner this weekend! 5:00 can't come soon enough....let the back porch prep begin.❤
Have fun! Let us know how it turns out!
Good morning Shaye! I was just sitting down for coffee, this is perfect.
Good morning :)
Love cooking outside…this was inspiring
Love this video! Yes, food does taste better outside! I've been planning different Al Fresco dining meals for this year. Thank you.
Always a pleasure to stop in for a visit. Congrats on the pizza oven . Hope you make lots of delish food for us to see...
Thank you, I will!

Thank you! And please do try those steaks. So good!
I love how desperately embarrassed Stuart was by Shaye using the term "The Mac Daddy". So good 😂Such a lovely video, as always!
What a beautiful view y'all have out there!
It really is!
Porter Road is yummy, I live in Tennessee and enjoy their meat very much! Also, cilantro does rock and Stu we love you too!
Yes. I’ve been very impressed!
Porter road is the best, love it I’m in Los Angeles, CA . After I sowed one of your videos I ordered and love it ❤!
Yes was said on video it’s his space his design 😂.
Agreed! Love Porter Road. And I did say he was in charge of the design. Caught me.
So lovely.
Thank you!
I use your ciabatta recipe almost every week! 😋 so good!
Great to hear!
So well done.
New to this channel. Allow me to say , look at that stove!!! Luvit!!!. I live in a tiny home and I can only have a two burner stove. No oven.
Beautiful ❤
Thank you! 😊
Really pretty area outside you all made.
Thank you. It’s still a work in progress…
A reminder of hospitality 🥰
Yes!
Beautiful cinematography, beautiful content 😍
Just popping in to say look at those gains when cutting cilantro!! 💪🏼 doing the work!!
So happy i can across your channel. Love it. Question, where did you get those overalls?
Lovely video!
Outstanding 90s Chris Cross reference. Jump jump!😅
Haha! Thank you!
🎶Mac daddy will make ya, jump! Jump! Kris Kross will make ya jump! Jump! Uh huh uh huh🎶 🤪
Ahhh is there anything better than dinner together outside?
Not too many things :)
❤
The dog! 😂😂😂😂
He is a cute stinker!

Haha. We know what that’s like believe me. Fans help… and traps

I love outdoor eating - any tips to deal with yellow jackets? We have traps but they still make summer eating out so hard
They really do. No great advice here, other than lots of traps like you mentioned. The smoke from the grill does seem to help a bit too…
❤
Wow Jenny, so many beautiful things and that cake is on my mind....looks delicious. I love that big blue urn and the old silverware. I'm going to look at your shop soon.
Great video and inspiration. What is the name of your pizza oven?
It’s a no-name pizza oven from an agriculture supply company near us called Chamberlin Agriculture. Sorry I can’t be more helpful!
Mac Daddy… I remember that. 😂 I planted cilantro in our greenhouse and it’s just growing tall and thin. It’s not really a bush like yours. Any tips?
Plant way more! That's actually what she was saying, that if you just plant a couple of seeds they will all turn into 1 single plant. Her "bush" of clinatro is just like a million single tall plants there
Yes, try this @JamieClements1982
I didn’t know you were old enough to know about Mac Daddy!! I still say it. 😊
😁
Can you do a video on cooking in the pizza oven? I've found the learning curve difficult.
That is a great idea, thank you.
Yes I heard it you said He is in charge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes their song said mack daddy in it. Lol
I knew it!
Can you share the brand of
Pizza oven?
I’ll do a little digging because we got it used and it didn’t have a brand name on it.
@@theelliotthomestead that’s very kind! Thank you.
What was the Mack daddy?? I didn’t catch what it was actually.
@@DH-qz2so but what was the greens she was harvesting when she said it? And thank you! Showing my age lol
@@nutmegknoll I believe that was more cilantro! :)
Haha, it was Parsley, I guess I forgot to say it.
Looks super yummy....that was a ton of salt on the steaks though!
A good portion melts away in the cooking process.
What is the plant she was harvesting when she called it ‘ the mac daddy’?? It wasn’t cilantro.
Parsley. The Mac daddy!
We too cooked and ate outside tonight and a bird pooped it my hair. Still worth it. Glad it wasn't my wine! Thanks for the sorrel tip!
Ok here's the salt debate....does seasoning your meat prior to cooking it, draw out the moisture of the meat?
For a short period of time, no. If left with the salt for way too long, then yes, the meat will eventually become dried out. But salting for a bit (think 30-45 minutes) before cooking helps the salt permeate the meat and flavor it deeply. Personal opinion, but it works well for us.
Выглядишь прекрасно! Прическа новая? 👍👍👍👏💐
Same old hair. But thank you!
🌷So⚘️Good🪻!
There are people who hate cilantro because it tastes like soap. It's a genetic thing, not a culinary choice. 😊
So sad…cilantro is soo good!
Yes, I’ve heard of this. I think we had a friend with this issue.
