When I turned 40 I could no longer marathon clean my entire home in 1 day 🫡 I just had to be honest with myself that slow and steady wins the race and one small step each day was enough . Life is much more simple now and that is a good thing ❤ 🏡

With a homestead and three children including a 2yo I have to be very diligent about how I do things so the house doesn’t fall apart daily. I have five things that I do daily that help so much to maintain a certain level of organization.
    1- Make beds
    2- Wash all dishes
3- Clean all counters and stovetop
4- Wash one load of laundry
    5- Run the robot vacuum.

My husband and I both work from home and homeschool as well and it has been the hugest blessing. I don't know if my kids will ever even understand it until they're older since it's all they've really known... but my husband and I are both full of gratitude to be "shoulder to shoulder" all day.

In my Italian family i grew up eating dandelion salad. Sweet onion, salt and pepper, olive oil and red wine vinegar made it just perfect. But you can add tomato or anything more you desire. We Italians love our bitter greens.
Everything you make is amazing! Great family!

When I see your home, your daily routines and family life...farm, animals and gardens, good cooking...I think of the song by Crosby, Stills and Nash..."Our House". Beautiful dandelion greens! When I was a child my Nonna (yes, she was from Italy) would come over and we would go out for a walk down one side and then back up the other side of our country road. She would use a long knife and circle the greens to cut them out of the ground. She would shake the soil off and toss them in the giant bowl I was holding. After the bowl was full we’d head home with a beautiful harvest. Using the garden hose to wash them off was easy to do outdoors. Next she would dress the greens with vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper. Glorious salad!🥬
Thank you for your video ❤

I love the way you guys find balance. You put in the necessary work, but you intentionally add/delete animals/projects to consistently streamline things, and you purposefully make time for self care like learning a language or playing a guitar so you don't lose yourself in the madness and burn out.

No two days are alike with all the moving pieces... so true - and no two families are alike!
When I saw your kitchen shot toward the end of the video, I can't help but think how different it is now from when you first started renovating it! One thing at a time, one day at a time, one year at a time... Such an evident testimony through your videos on how a home (not house) is created ❤
Also, ever since I've learned from Clara' Kitchen about the dandelion salad back in the Great Depression era, I have never looked at them the same. I love seeing them in our yard now, knowing they are working hard to draw out the mineral and to aerate the soil! What a hard working plant!

Just read your post on a different page, which struck me to the core. I like many love to and enjoy the taste of meat, but if I had to butcher it, well it would never happen.
In today's world perhaps we don't need to kill anymore. So many better ways to nurture ourselves with the knowledge we have. Perhaps we would stop killing each other and our planet too.
Today was a sad day. Stuart and I got up at the crack of dawn to load our yearling steer into the trailer and make the small trip to the butcher. I cried. Then my kids cried. And I realized that two things can be true at the same time: we can be grateful for the provision, looking forward to the meat, and be thankful for the nourishment it will provide our family and ALSO be deeply sad because killing anything is hard, I love and care for my animals deeply, and I will miss his little spirit here on the farm. I’m trying to focus on being grateful today.

What happened to CeCe now that you’ve made the switch to sheep’s milk? Are you keeping her on just to see how it goes or did you sell her or is your freezer extra full?

We are keeping her. She is getting older though so we are trying to plan for what is next.

It is much easier for us to get them out of the garden beds because the soil is much more loose and fluffy. Not so much in other areas of the farm.
