To clear this up right now. Sigma is not evil. He is being manipulated by an evil organization, he himself is not evil. He is a genuinely kind man who wants to help people but is being tricked into helping terrorists.

he is also sort of... broken. Split personality, always hearing a melody. He sort of not there and sometimes he is but once he "realises" he nearly goes out of control, he quickly snaps back to his controlled state before anything catastrophic can happen

A physicist actually worked with the team creating Sigma's origin story so the formulas on the white board are correct.

He may referring to formulas and math models that have somehow to do whit gravitational effects, formulas than explains theory of the origin of everything and models that describes the behavior of objects while being exposed to 0 gravity effects or to some forces of gravity, it’s not that those formulas are wrong, he means that those have to do whit sigma and the black holes and gravity effects
If it correct, why fail?
Because when you try to combine the Relativistic Theories of Einstein ( Special relativity and General relativity), The standard model, and Quantum Mechanics certain parts in this combination just doesn’t work for some unknown reason.
So basically we don’t know why it fails when you combine everything even though it should.
In theory Sigma is the most powerful character in all Overwatch lore (to date). If he didnt regain consciousness before creating a catastrophe he could potentially destroy everyone. He has like 3 personalities: The Scientist one, the normal Sigma that is a combination of the two where he is in a certain balance, and the Violent one, where he loses his mind and start fighting everyone.
I'd argue Zenyatta would be stronger since he literally ascended to a godlike being
Imo all the scientists are in theory the most powerful heroes. Sigma, Moira, Mei and even Mercy. Because their intellect just cometely gives them an edge in this world, not to mention they're still able to perform in combat duties. Kind of makes them a big threat. Would say arguably Echo is the most powerful almoat lore wise as she can copy the DNA of anyone. And is a multi versatile machine in lore and in game. But in general the scientists are more powerful

@@CrazeeAdam sigma is the strongest since he controls the very aspect of gravity itself, it’s not known towards what extent could Echo copy sigma’s abilities as in-game doesn’t equate to how the characters would fair against each other in life. Sigma could very well just cause the entire world to turn into one giant black hole and he’d be just fine. Sigma is simply just him

You should totally check out more overwatch cinematics even if it's just on your own. They are part of what makes overwatch so great! They aren't very science/physics related but they are so well done. You might be able to find some science/physics stuff to talk about in some of them too.

That’s probably how it felt to other people when some guy talked about potentially harnessing thunderbolts, and then we wrapped the world in them.
I mean yeah, once physicists figure out how to unify all the theories and laws of the universe it could unlock technology for us that currently seems incomprehensible or impossible
Sigma is a astrophysicist and not a normal physicist! Both are physicists,but are both different....not saying this like you don't know,just saying....But if I had to be honest....I don't know the full difference and I'm just speaking out of the little amount of knowledge on this subject that I have.
“Normal physicist” isn’t really a thing. Astrophysics is a branch of physics. There’s medical, experimental, nuclear, theoretical, atomic etc.

At 3:12 the black hole was "red shifted" or something right? This is when he was in the seibren de kuiper personality
Next scene when he's with talon and has the sigma personality the black hole is blue shifted this happens when you get closer to it...I wonder what that implies about perspective and how the black hole affected his psyche and personalities

Just to clarify, Sigma does NOT have a split personality disorder, or any sort of personality disorder. He’s experiencing psychosis, likely a byproduct of PTSD from the failed experiment. He is not evil, but is being manipulated by Talon, and Moira’s experiments on him likely are making the psychosis much worse.
Sigma needs his own cinematic. The origins are always so lacking compared to them. Just imagine how clean it'd look.
Honestly, Sigma’s entire character makes me so sad. He’s not a bad guy, he just needs someone to get him away from Talon and get him some decent mental health care.
This sci fi future can replace your entire body with cybernetics and generate structures out of light but they can’t get this man some therapy for black hole induced psychosis?
