- Although this is a relatively simple fix my hopes are that it can help some of you out.
Recently came across a leaking head gasket on a Kawasaki H1 500 Triple. Took the time to show the process that I use to fix it.
Most of the younger generation coming up will never know how simple 2 stroke motors are and the crazy power they make. Great video
Agreed!
That's partly why I made this video. As more of us younger generation are getting into these bikes I'm passing what little knowledge I have on.
Love the tip on annealing the gaskets Pete. Nice demonstration of the materials engineering knowledge you have and how it translates to a higher quality rebuild.
Thanks Mark!
Just passing on any helpful tips that were given to me :)
Did not know this about the gaskets. Did see they are softer after used. Thank you.
I'm sure you could probably get a decent seal without annealing them.. but it definitely help sear them into the surface.
Here's a old school tip for you Pete and your subscribers. Old school bus windows work excellent. I got my surface plate for free at a granite supply shop. Just asked the guy to buy a piece and he gave it to me for free. I don't do a lot of 2 smoke work these days, but look forward to your videos, excellent job.

Great job Pete!
Thanks Kirby!

Thanks!!
I think you're annealed too Pete. Because you're super relaxed bro
If by annealed you mean, worked hard in fire to do the best job ever! Than yes..yes I am haha
@@PetesClassicCycle that's exactly what I mean brother
Hi do you have to anneal the new copper gaskets?
Yes you do. Once you do it you'll feel how much softer they get.
