    Thank you! I've read through quite a number of the comments and they're all spot on! One referred to you as a professor which is something I've been thinking too. Your videos and explanations go to the essence of how something works. Few professors I know can reach this level of detail though! Your clear explanations allows me to understand how something works and they also reveal how little I actually know! This allows me to have a much better starting point in learning mechanics. Few people are able to teach at this level.

      @@VintageEngineRepairs I have a quick question, so I just ordered a new 2 stroke from eBay and I have been trying to get it run, but every time I full throttle it dies after 1 minute. It says that I should be using 25:1 fuel ratio in the description of eBay. It also may just be the tunning. Do you have any idea why this is happening

    • @VintageEngineRepairs
      @VintageEngineRepairs  Рік тому +1

      @@kodiepeterson6269 it sounds like it could be lean on the H screw, though without seeing it it’s impossible to say! I’d suggest checking the obvious like fuel lines for cracking and filter for blockages. Then check the piston for scoring (remove the muffler) and then lastly open the H screw 1/4 of a turn and see what happens :)

    its okey to understand and tune basic 2 stroke machines like chainsaw, blower etc. Only has one or two stage Air screw. But its not enough to advanced tuning related rev up and increase engine response of the bike engines have jetting or else adjustment abilities.

    • @VintageEngineRepairs
      @VintageEngineRepairs  8 місяців тому +1

      Fuel screws on 2 stroke ope. Bikes have 3-4 fuel circuits. A pilot jet and air screw, main jet, needle height, the needle taper and power jet. The same principles apply to tuning them in terms of lean and rich.

    • @VintageEngineRepairs
      @VintageEngineRepairs  Рік тому +1

      Haha! It’s very much attainable, but it’s certainly a skill that takes time and effort to hone. It’s one thing learning to tune one engine, that works well. It’s a whole other ball game to know the intricacies of tuning across the board, what the engine needs, what isn’t working, blockages, etc :)

    This isn't really helpful for my 2 stroke motorbike situation. I'm having major problems getting it tuned right. Stationary it runs absolutely sweet. It will idle all day, revs straight out when I stab the throttle and it comes right back down. No major smoke either. When actually riding under load, it really hesitates to pull into the powerband, it sounds lean just like this video shows. I'll need to drop down a gear or smash the clutch to get it going. If i'm anywhere under 3/4 throttle its just BOG. There is no detonation and the plug is super black. The metal band around the electrode is still shiny after 4 hours of riding. I just installed larger jets yesterday and went riding today, the low end response was the same.. if not worse. except I now have a hanging idle issue. But when it's on the pipe wide open throttle it goes much better.. I've been looking everywhere on the internet for help but can't seem to find anyone with a similar situation. I'm going crazy lol
