- On this, the final episode of the series titled "Getting a new Phoenix Bass Boat", I take my boat to Hennessey Outdoor Electronics to trade in my 15" Humminbird Helix and 10" Humminbird Helix for three Humminbird Solix 12s. They also install a wedge on the console, new Humminbird ethernet switch and new dual graph mount on the bow. I take my boat out on the water and show how the new graphs perform with the Humminbird Lakemaster VX chip and I show a few settings.

Happy New Year Big Jim, Been a bit since I have gotten back on here to look at just fishing videos and good information as well. I had an issue with my Talons since they came out with the new software drop. One Talon had taken the update 2.020 and the other one was still at 1.360. I had fought this over a year with Minn Kota. I had taken my boat to a certified Minn Kota repair shop over in Eufaula. Chewalla Creek Marina was top notch in getting me squared away. There was also a very nice customer service rep from Minn Kota that had actually listened to me and she squared me away with 2 new computer boards. The boards were not talking to each other and would not pair. That was half the battle. Turns out that when I had gone to the HB factory to have them check my Helix 12 Gen2, they told me that it's working correctly if it's finding the Talons. I was only finding one Talon still. Eddie at the marina had put in a fresh install of 2.280 being that there are no more updates for this unit. Once he had done that the unit had found both Talons and I am glad that he did that because now my unit will work faster being that I have no more saved WP on my unit. That's ok though. I need to learn how to have empty cards when I head to the lake and save them that way.

MY SET UP MY 721 PRO XP IS ABOUT THE SAME BUT I HAVE A 12 SOLIX AND TWO GPS MAP 1242 GARMINS ON THE FRONT ONE FORWARD FACING AND ONE PERSPECTIVE MODE, ALSO HAVE TWO SOLIX 12'S AT THE CONSOLE, AWSOME SET UP

I don’t have the issue you had with my Helix 15. Probably due to my Ranger doesn’t go fast enough to test the Humminbird processor.
I think the issue only lies with the 15” MSI model imo

Man it looks great! Gen 3 solix are a little bit crisper and faster than the gen 2 also! I shoulda went with 2 12’s at the console but will stick with the 15 for now. These bullets aren’t made for all these console graphs!

One of the best video's you have done. I have Helix 10's and don't have the problem, but my boat is not a Mach 1 speed (LOL) so processor speed is waiting on me and my boat to catch up on the screen. Anyway, do you have any problems in the winter time at freezing temps on the touch screen?

My Helix 12’s both have the same issue as well.
Turn them in under warranty.

I have a helix 15 at my console & have zero issues with the map keeping up with my lakemaster premium vx charts...Not sure why you had an issue..my heading censor is up front & I have 2 birds up front all networked together.I never liked it behind the drivers seat...you fish up front,thats where you want the waypoint..
Mine sucked. I will never recommend Helix to anyone that has used Solix.

How is the 16v lithium working out? 16V sounds interesting as I run 2 Solix 15s. Never see 13.1 like some guys do with AGMs.
Great! Running all 4 graphs with backlight on 10, I’ve never seen it drop below 16. Key is good clean power and wiring/connections.
@@BigJimFishing thanks for the quick reply. Yup, just switched out from a Sea Clear harness to a new Phoenix Harness with the E2 fuse box. Got very good power, meaning all graphs reading the same and very little voltage drop (.15V to be exact). When charging I get 13.2 at the battery, 13.14 at the E2 box, 13.0 on my graphs. These, new last year, AGM’s seam to want to live at 12.6 once unplugged, and once you turn others accessories on it drops below 12.0 quickly (within 6 hours if I only have the boat aux, graphs on at 8 brightness, live and 360 not in the water but powered on). 12.6 is the best I see when unplugged but that is for a split second then it drops to 12.3.
16V scares me a bit. Are you only running for monitors or your monitors on it?

Nothing at all. They still work on my boat. I just needed credit on trade for my Helix units. Nashville Marine is still my dealer I represent.
Maybe you should reach out to hummingbird and ask for an raise because you have convinced me to upgrading all of my helix to Solix and I have 2-12 and 1-15
I no longer promote for Humminbird, I’m just a consumer.
