Imagine you're a check-in agent for Spirit Airlines on a normal work shift, and suddenly a random guy with an English accent comes along and wants to check in a sausage.
That's probably nothing compared to what those check-in agents go through on a daily basis. Some have said that the Spirit and Frontier check in desks are some of the most dangerous locations in a modern day airport.
😂😂😂😂😂
It wouldn't be the same without the fallen Madonna
I'd genually laugh a little bit if I know they're in a normal/good mood haha.

@@marcd6897 yes he does -- you may notice he did not film his neighbor at the beginning of the flight but did later. Which merely says that the neighbor stated at one point that he was okay being filmed.
@@redwolfexr I doubt that. In all his videos he always receives the consent from all of his seat neighbors? Without exceptions? Even when he was flying some dodgy airlines in Africa, India or the Far East? Because he NEVER blurs, and he ALWAYS shows everybody around him, and while that’s possibly ok when you do kind of a panorama style shot to show the surroundings, but the neighbors are always in the picture (unless he flies Q-Suite or Emirates and other First class which he increasingly does these days - let the peasants fly Y)

My first and last time I flew Spirit Airlines was on a flight to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After I got back home I vowed the only way I would board another Spirit Airlines plane was bound and gagged. Your comment on their seats being like sitting on an ironing board was spot on.

I have taken Spirit on a day business trip. First flight out , Last flight out on return. They had quite a few flights between Chicago and Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Tampa. Had clients in the hospitality industry. It was perfect for this kind of day trip. Never had any problems.
Same here, the only times I've ever had issues with airlines, it's been with full fare carriers. But, even in that case, it hasn't been particularly common. I generally wind up going for the cheapest fairs as I just haven't noticed much of a difference in terms of what I'm getting versus what I'm paying. As the video demonstrates, if you're not somebody like me that travels with a single bag that fits under the seat, you may have better options on one of the "more expensive" airlines.
The timing of this video was kind of bad. Spirit just recently announced bundles. The GO BIG bundles would now be what this includes. Would love to see an update to this video in a couple of months and see how the price compares. Guessing the bundle will be much lower.
Definitely cheaper compared to delta about $100
$301.10 to fly Spirit to Chicago...funny, but I'm guessing very few people actually choose ALL the options. Most probably don't choose any extras or only the bag option they need.
Noel is singlehandedly trying to save Spirit Airlines from their very precarious financial position! Well done!
To be fair, the Big Front Seat isn't a terrible place to sit. Can't say the same about the back of the bus on NK, it's cheap and cheerful without the cheerful.
Yep, Depending upon how you combine the addons, Spirit can still be quite affordable. I just flew from LAX to SEA and it was $79 after applicable taxes. That's hard to beat and I had absolutely not complaints of any sort about the flight. The plane was clean, the flight crew seemed as nice as any other airline. I would have had to pay for snacks, but fair enough, I did get the flight for literally less than the cab fair to the airport.
“Pulled aside for extra screening of my sausage.” Hahahaha 😂
I flew on Spirit a few years ago. We left on time, arrived safely, and the crew was friendly. I didn't have a problem with them, as long as you know what you're getting and that they are a low cost carrier, they are fine.
Same here. I'm a guy that can get basically everything I can possible need into a bag that fits in their free personal item bin. The most recent flight I had with them was a few days ago and it was literally cheaper for me to fly from LAX to SEA than the cab to the airport.
the main thing you have to watch out for is to not click on any of the extras they try to sell you like this video demonstrates, they get their money by tricking people into thinking they need those I think. otherwise if all you need is to get from one point to another and don't mind it being mildly cramped or without free drinks then it's a nice way to save a bit of cash
This was hilarious. Oh Matron with your sausage and spunk muffin, laughed so hard with this one.
Spunkmeyer was the dude who left the dropship ramp open and let the Xeno climb aboard unchallenged...
I appreciate you for blurring the faces immediately after showing them on screen.
I once saw this amazing quote on the internet - "There's nothing more expensive than being poor". It's true with low cost airlines, but also buying cheap clothes that will not last one season etc.
TBH, I've never had problems with any of the discount airlines. I just don't go into it expecting that I'm getting everything included. Personally, I travel with a single bag that fits under the seat anyways for most trips. So, I'll take the deal and just save the money. In the times I've flown Spirit, it's been nothing but a great experience. But, the same goes for all the other ones as well. Apparently enough other people are paying for the upgrades that I can get my seat and have no issues.
I can live for two weeks at least from one overhead carryon.
That said, I always fly southwest or delta.
Meh not really true. My clothes are “cheap” in cost but they are super high quality OLDSCHOOL stuff most of the time. Estate sales, yard sales, and thrift shopping will yield you some amazing finds like my favorite coveralls or my favorite wi tee jacket. Not even to mention all of my t shirts and pants and even some socks. My underwear is the only thing k won’t thrift! lol 😂
Not really. If you know what you're getting into, you can generally avoid every single fee and get the advertised price.
@@keithbroh5730 I have $15 Costco shirts that I’ve worn for 10 years or more. Wash and wear them once a week.
calling Spirit "the yellow peril" had me lmao, excellent video!
I can pack 5 days worth of clothes into a "personal item" sized bag for Spirit. Throw on round trip to Florida for less than $100 and it's a no brainer of a deal in my book!
Yep, I think the key is whether or you can avoid the add ons. If you can do so, and you don't mind the seat sizes, it's not a bad way of going.
Ryanair is exactly the same. Think of it as a bus, and not a plane. If you are adding extras you are really booking with the wrong airline.

I was a Spirit member for a number of years until I realized that you basically couldn't use your airmiles. Here's an example: I was flying from Detroit to Denver, the Spirit base price was $75 round trip. If I wanted to pay with airmiles for the same flight, it was 20,000 airmiles plus $55. So why would anyone use the airmiles option??
Weird. Maybe you selected something wrong, but with my spirit card (which came with 50,000 points), I've been able to use point for Nicaragua (8,000 round trip + $73 in fees for a $250 flight) and Ecuador (which was 10,000+$73 in fees for a $380 flight). One thing is, the point system is I think really hard to manage without the card. The points don't seem to add up from what they say on the free spirit benefits page, and the $50 redemption fee to us the points (which is why the fees were $55 for you and not only $5) makes it hard to justify, but that fee is waved with the card
Air miles are like Monopoly money…
So your saying the air miles give you discount? Kinda like what they are there for?
We've actually flown Spirit big front seat a number of times from Tampa to Las Vegas and back and each time had a good experience. Flight attendants were friendly and helpful and the pilots invited me to the flight deck. We didn't however try to check my sausage!:)
It’s very difficult to believe that you were invited on to the flight deck..

Noel "I was just happy to see you".
I just did a cost comparison of a Spirit flight from WAS to LAX, with all the addons, a one way fare on spirit from BWI to LAX was $413, however a one way first class ticket on United from IAD to LAX was $560, that’s a $147 difference. To be honest with that price difference I’d rather just do United
I’ve said this for a long time! My girl asked why I fly first all the time. I said by the time you pay for everything else is about the same price but better, international flights excluded. Thanks, excellent video once again,!
Same. Once I pay for everything I'd need to be comfortable in economy (tall with some extra pounds), plus food in the airport, etc it's nearly always within "eh, might as well" range of first class anyway. I used to fly a route for work where it was almost always $99 more for first class vs economy. I needed to check 2 bags which at the time cost $100 round trip. They tried to balk at a peon like me booking first class, but I made the point that I was actually saving them $1 on the cost!
If you travel with 2 checked bags the price difference to first is often negligible.
I’ve only ever flown on Spirit once, and the Flight Attendant was terrorizing passengers with a rubber chicken. 🐓
Wtf! 😂😂
Its called Spirit because its a good plan to have some from a bottle in the system before you board.
What I like about spirits is that they use Airbus planes instead of the defective Boeing planes . That makes me feel more secure when flying.
Sausage and spunkmuffin apparently pair quite nicely.
Lol
I really appreciate your humor, it makes your experiences very pleasant to watch!! Continue to educate, entertain and have fun!!
5:06 Noel you knew what you were doing there 💀
I’m gonna let this secret out as a frequent flyer from IAH. When it’s high demand or even normal travel, it’s significantly faster to go through terminal B security and transfer to your terminal through the sky train than to wait at the larger terminals’ longer security lines.
During normal travel periods, terminal B security is almost waiting for you. During peak travel, my average wait in line (excluding going through scanners) was 5-10 minutes. The longest I have ever waiting at terminal B security line was 15 minutes and that was due to short staff.
Isnt B for international?
@ every airport is different. At IAH, it’s primarily United Express.
the point of spirit is not to provide the same experience for cheaper, it’s to provide a la carte amenities for those who want them and very basic yet affordable airfare for those who don’t
Which it turns out is a terrible business model
@ i meannnn who’s to say, you’re getting exactly what you pay for. the bare bones minimum service

The truth is that Spirit is great for these kinds of sub 2 hours flights domestically for a short hop. If you just have a carryon then it can be fine and its even better if you simply don't have anything to take with you.
Not really. By the time you pick any seat its literally the exact same price as United/American. Once you factor in the 40$ carryon, even if you don't select a seat you are still at 115$ as opposed to the posted American Airlines flight of 106.
@@davidowen1506 yeah for that example I agree but in general I have found that spirit has been better at least in the flights that I have flown.

Spirit on August 16th going forward until their demise whenever that happens, are implementing a “new cabin experience” with 4 tiers. Go, Go Savvy (includes one carry-on bag), Go Comfy (includes checked bag, carry-on, and snacks. Middle seat blocked), and Go Big (WiFi, snacks, two checked bags, priority boarding and the Big Front Seats). Buy a Big Front Seat before August 16th because they won’t be available ala carte after that.
Yeah. The timing of this video was unfortunate. Spirit is transitioning from an Ultra Low Cost Carrier to a Low Cost Carrier.......Rather remiss that he didn't include that info as a footnote.
I love how it started by blurring the guy next to you on the planes face at the beginning of the flight, but the next time he shows he’s not blurred at all 😂
The spunk muffin was the perfect accompaniment to your sausage 😆
I flew Spirit back in 08 before they were yellow when I went to Vegas and the plane was super nice and clean inside. They were way cleaner and nicer than the American Airline planes which still had the interior from we use to fly back in the 80s and 90s.
Hey Noel! - I have noticed watching your videos that you enjoy a good sausage now and then. Since most American sausage basically sucks, let me turn you on to one of the few exceptions: There is a company in Milwaukee, WI that has been making almost every kind of old-world recipe sausage you can think of for the last 150 years called Usinger’s.
They have a website you can order from (they ship to anywhere), but be warned - their shipping can cost as much as the order itself. If you wait until Christmas time, they lower their shipping prices dramatically.
In my opinion, they make the best sausage in America. 😉
I'm proud of your sausage. He made it to Chicago!

Noell: ‘we have to buy everything we can’

With Spirit and a few other airlines, if you purchase your ticket at the ticket counter (at the airport) it will save you an additional 20 to 30%. I do it all of the time and usually get round-trip tickets (no extras) for dirt cheap. Best airline ticket hack ever!!!
Are you purchasing at the departing airport on the day of the flight or do you make a trip to the airport beforehand? Many airlines will jack prices way up rather than cut prices to sell any remaining seats
@bert23337 No, I have always purchased my tickets several weeks in advance directly from the airport counter. The shortest purchase was a last-minute trip (3 days in advance). I still saw a ridiculously significant saving.
Are you able to buy for someone else? I have a family member who works at the airport but it's too far for me to make the trip to just buy a ticket
Spirit was actually the only airline I flew when I was making frequent trips between Tampa and New Jersey. They have a monopoly on Atlantic City airport which was much closer to my family and avoids all the hassle and traffic of Newark. The staff has always been great, the planes are fine for a short hop, and I usually get a snack and a drink or two. They do usually have alcohol but maybe not on a morning flight. I even flew them from Baltimore to LA with a short stop in Houston and that only cost $90 round trip. The stopover was actually quite welcome as I wouldn't want to be in an A-320 for five hours straight. The only knock I have against them is that it's a small fleet so if a plane breaks down you'll be in for an eight hour delay. The only airline that gave me a consistently terrible experience and once stranded me in Philly while holding my bags hostage was US Air.
I fly about 6 times per year between New Orleans and Raleigh-Durham to visit family. I normally will fly Breeze or Frontier. One thing I did to save a ton of money was to pay for a checked bag on one trip. I packed everything I needed for a 4-day weekend into that bag, then left it at the family home in RDU. Now when I book a ticket on an ultra-low-cost carrier, I simply book the cheapest possible flight and show up with only my personal item that I know is sized to meet any dimension restrictions any of the carriers may have. I can now take flights between the two cities round trip for between $50 and $100 and not care about luggage, or overhead bin space. It takes a ton of stress out of the travel experience.
This was so funny to watch! You should bring your sausage every time you fly!😂

And I bet that goes for all the airlines
People who fly Spirit go for,the low base fare and would never pay for all the extras - that defeats the purpose! Makes no sense.
Exactly. But that's also the point because a lot of people think all the airlines charge more and separately for bags so they go with whatever the initial cheapest is.

You should of added up the cost with some of the "full service"' carriers. A United Airlines basic fare doesn't include check-in or carry-on baggage, you can't choose your seat and an exit row is $70 extra.
Sometimes you can find gems with airlines like Spirit. If you get a chance to fly long distance on Spirit in the big boy seats for cheaper or the same price as coach on another airline, take it. It's much more comfortable, you're first on and first off, and if there's two of you, you don't have to have an aisle mate.
Hopefully someone could reserve another big front seat for the sausage next time.
when I go visit me parents in Florida from RDU, a backpack spot and 2 hours in whatever seat the give me is fine. They also send you an email to "bid" for seat upgrades, the minimum for exit rows is usually only $3 so I put in for that and I've won it each time. The economy seats they have are fine for short hops, but yeah, anything over that'd i'd opt for Big front seat. They are a fine airline as long as you know what you're in for!
I have never found a budget airline that is cheap. With all the add ons like you showed they aren’t cheap or budget at all. Thanks for proving my theory. As always love your videos.
The point is, you don’t HAVE to pay $300, you CAN fly for $100, or whatever in between, if you so wish. Can that $300 price on United be reduced that much to get you from A to B?
I flew Spirit a couple of times. I'd say the experience is comparable to United: the stuff was friendly and there were no issues. United gives you a few pretzels and a soda on a comparable flight, if you are in economy. And the price for their basic economy (which is more less the same as Spirit in terms of comfort) is usually higher than Spirit's, even if you count the checked bags and stuff. One big downside of Spirit is lack of code sharing airlines. So, if something goes wrong, you are stuck with them, they can't reroute you to another company's flight.
If they had an addon fee to get rid of the screaming babies I'd pay whatever they ask.
I think that's called first class.
I really needed a giggle today. Thanks, Noel, & your sausage. Lol 💀
Glad you enjoyed it
8:56 120mb is faster than mine. we have 100 at home.
I think the biggest thing you are missing here, is that the United fare is only that cheap because of the competition with spirit. Prior to spirit entering that market, I guarantee you United was charging double for that same ticket.
will united make their tickets higher again?
