Sorry it's so long, I'm still in my Trainer Mode from my previous job.
Hi Jimmy, I tried all the tips from your video but it didnt help stop the standby drain.
Finally i figured out something which can be additional tip which you can add to your video. I found that samsung's "find my mobile" was draining battery in the background. i disabled Samsung's "find my mobile" option in both foreground and background. In developer options under "background processes" i disabled "find my mobile". Now things seem to improve a bit in terms of standby. Will have to monitor for few days but its something which also affects battery drain which you can add to your tips
@@ashishmulye6734 try to disable all the apps. It improve my standby a lot

Nah, x2 playback speed will do
@iWipe • how do you close all the running apps manually? Force stop it?
I swear Samsung should be sending Jimmy some paychecks for doing them a favor by explaining all of this to us. Always the best information and tutorials right here. No need to watch anyone else.
i mean he did say that he worked from samsung from his past videos.
I 100% agree with your comment. Jimmy has an amazing channel and is more than willing to go into detail with all the latest changes and updates. I love and have much respect for the hard dedicated work he's putting in. Thanks again Jimmy!
My friend told me to search GT2020PSN on Google and it actually gave a Google Play code!😐
@@DBZwarriormod Thank you!
Did it work for you guys, I have the same issue with Google
Clear cache, disable sync (check for errors), disable location, turn on find Wi-Fi automatically, volume up and power wipe cache partition, clear Google play accounts.
What is clear play account? To delete?

Thank u so very much, I almost through my 3 months old S20 in the garbage bin because the battery would only last for 5 hours ! And it was overheating to a scary point, I took it to Samsung service centre 3 times and they kept saying there is nothing wrong with it. I tried everything.
Watched your video, and when I followed ur guidance found an email app that was running in the background for 16 to 17 hours per day! And consuming 150 to 170 % of the battery life !!!!! Logged out from this email app and the phone battery lasted at least for 20 hours and more !! Thank u again mate
Click and hold "location"
Click "Google Location History"
Turn off "Location History"
That is usually always the culprit
also turn off wifi & bluetooth scanning
Haha, location history was amongst the first things I turned off :D I could simply not think of a scenario where that information would be useful or important to me...
It says to pause doesn't have the turn off option

Crisp, clear, and easy to apply. Thank you, Jimmy, for these fantastic tips. Did the first 5 steps already and will check the usage.
Thank you, once again.🤗☺️
Battery Usage: Google Play Services - 1.3%, UA-cam - 70% 😝
exactly !

yyyaaa its suckss😪😪😪😒😒😒😕 is there any way to lower battery drain for youtube
Due to quarantine I am using UA-cam way more than before.

FYI BOOTING TO CLEAR CACHE PARTITION, if you have a Galaxy s8 or similar you have to use the power button, the volume up button and the bixby button. Once you see the Samsung logo appear let go of the power button and the bixby button but continue to hold the volume up button until and again until you see the boot options. Great video BTW.

Mine was 65%🙈🙈😂😂
Mine is 80

If you're using google related apps thats ok
Thanks, this video has saved me a couple of times now with Play services on both occasions spiking to something like 20-30 per cent battery useage, and a normally 2 day battery almost dead inside 12 hours. Suspect the issue was another app which was also drawing a lot of power and triggering Play services in some way. Anyway, followed your advice steps and sanity was restored- both the phone and mine !
Can I know how you found out one app triggering Google play services
@@ApArsenalSorry, I'm afraid it's that long ago that I can't remember the details now. Looking back at my comment I don't know that I pinned down an exact app but applying the Play services steps from the video must have fixed the issue long term.
Thanks for the great tips! Definitely been seeing my battery performance go down and phone heating up after the latest UI update.
Heating issue really sucks... I also experience the issue
Yes heating issue is the worst thing in my device
I use a bixby routine that disables sync entirely unless I am charging and that makes absolutely zero apps in my battery usage show up as "background usage" I don't even see google play services in that battery usage screen. ever since I made that routine not only do I save a lot of battery but I still have important stuff synced when it is charging. I STRONGLY recommend setting a bixby routine to disable sync when you are not charging unless you have some reason you must have it on even off the charger. but for me it works amazing and I don't have to think about syncing because it does it when I put it on the charger.
I'm going to give it a try and apply to my bixby routine.
@@khiangnong1349 did it help?
@@mega4304 probably a malware
How do I set it up could you explain it step by step?
But wouldn't disabling sync also disable looking for emails in Gmail? Like you want to sync your emails right,? Not only when you are home charging, but you need to look emails on the go?
Ok. Going to help everyone out here quickly. I've been monitoring this for some time. First, no need to clear cache...🙄 second..go to your accounts, put everything that's not a priority off to not auto sync. Third and most important, turn OFF automatic updates for Google play store. You can always manually check when you need or want to. Automatic updates DO drain battery. With these adjustments I have monitored for a while. If it's even google play store or google services, I show either one ranginging from 0.5 to 1.6...sometimes in the 2 range. It's been a LONG time that I can even find a time that reached even 3. Before I could CONSISTANTLY see through the history many times hitting from 4 to 7. I hope this helps everyone😉
One comment on entering recovery mode though. It is true as shown on S20. On S8 and S10 (both of which I have) you use Bixby button to. Once the device is off, press and hold the Bixby and volume up buttons, then press the power button. Let go of the power once the phone turns on, while still keeping the Bixby and volume up buttons pressed.
Thank you for this, my Google play service uses 13% on my Note 10+.....
Cheers
thank you so much for this video! my phone's battery was draining so fast these few days, then i learn from your video and clear cache partition(i never did this before because i am afraid it could brick the phone) and now my phone is good as new and i had been using it for 3 years and counting, no more battery drain, Thanks again jimmy, ur channel deserved better! 🙏🙏💪
To better save battery, you can click the "sync" button on your drop down buttons. You will save a ton of battery and please make sure to turn of nearby scanning by going to connections>more connections>nearby scanning (turn off)
How much tons
phone is not even 1ton
i know you r just sayin' for fun but still no logic
@@ajzambhande8675 Try it, you'll see a slower drain rather than one that is more constant
Really???
Play Services on my phone never exceeded 0.5%. I guess that's a good thing...
Great video. Much appreciated! You've saved me having to wipe my note10 and start from scratch - something very time consuming and annoying. My battery life is now what it use too be when I first purchased it. Love your work
Thank you for this video. It's something that I was looking for long time now...
4 years later and this still works. Thank you.
Why does this showing screen on time without even opening it?
You may also want to give the app called Bouncer a try - all it does is automatically revoke the permissions you give your apps whenever you are not using them - so they are not gonna do funky things while running in the background, basically unused. May save you quite some battery juice.
Excellent tip, Google play services is now taking only 0.6 % now. Keep up the good work.
My Google Play Services is at .4% running 15hours a day so I guess I'm fine 😉 thanks btw

Watching this already drains my phone
😂
This is the best solution for my samsung device i ever seen on youtube
Others youtubers just give solution to put down all the features, meanwhile the main problem is some app keep refreshing location and some account always trying to syncing item every second on the background, so the battery drain like crazy
Edit: after doing this, my s21 going from 4,5h to 6,5h SoT
Good info Jimmy.. I'm usually running my Google around 1.3-1.5 percent.. Appreciate this info I'll keep this in mind if it gets higher

Hi Jimmy very nice and useful video 👌. You speak with appropriate speed not too fast or not too slow. Keep up the good work 👍. Do you make videos only for Samsung phones?
I have watched a lot of videos on UA-cam, and I created many do-it-yourself video myself. Your videos are well organized and well written.
Most of the UA-cam videos are not well organized and not well written.
Good informative video ♥️ I DO all steps on my note 9

On the wiping cache partition on a Samsung phone (thanks for the tip), on some Samsung phones (perhaps older than the S20 used in the video) you need to press volume up+home button+power on button to turn your phone on to access this.
Why would you want ANY apps to have access to your location all the time, instead of Only When App is Active??
if u lose your phone chances are t too less of getting it back at least in India 🤣
@daserej805 then leave that on in location access. I open this in but the other apps set to on when in use. You will know what apps needs the location access and not.
daserej805 that is a Google stupidity : turn off that GPS option... if you loose your phone, start remotely that option... I have no idea why it s not possible to turn this option remotely ? they can spy us by starting the camera and micros automatically without asking us but that GPS option : WE can't ?

With the new UI, How does one check for total screen-on time per charge?
Jimmy, very very helpful
I have an A52s 5g & have tried several times to initiate the "booting mode" as suggested @ 9:40, without any success. Any suggestions to bringing up the correct screen?
Plug your phone via usb to a computer. it should be a data cable and not just a charging cable. then do the steps above.

The title should have been "How to get better battery life on a Samsung Device". Anyway, good content. But what I've done is go to settings and go through the list one at a time and turn off everything that u don't use.
VERY informative. thanks for useful info.

Hey Jimmy great video, but can you please disable 120hz when filming? It looks extremely blurry when scrolling.
I second that.
True
awesome jimmy ! even though I don't use my phone for more than an hour of on screen this will help me keep my battery on for at least 2 days or more.
U saved my life brother my phone's battery have now increased
First of all, the battery usage is displayed in percentage. If your Google Play Service has high battery usage percent, it can be an indication that you barely used your phone and your other apps did not used much battery which is good.
Lets say if I leave my game on for a few days straight, the game is going to use so much power that it makes the google play service battery usage insignificant. My Google Play Service battery usage is only 0.36%.
Absolutely nice video
How did you get into the booting mode by only holding your power and volume up briefly? I have to hold them all the way until it goes in or instead it turns one the phone on...
Thanks for the tips bro.. it worked.😁
Excellent works great in Redmi Note 8 Pro 👍 Thanks
I am also using redmi note 8 pro but using all method in this video didnt help the problem aww man...
Excellent video 👍
I've done a clear cache partition before and ran into an app issue (specifically my Secure Folder). The message that I got would say could not sync with Secure Folder. I still have no idea why that has happened.
When Galaxy's get a software update, they automatically clear the system cache. You don't need to manually do it.
Oh ackually
Hahahahahaha if your Galaxy actually GETS the god damn software updates. AT&T is a real bastard. I just manually clear the cache of my most used apps once a week or so (Spotify, YT, Chrome, etc.)
Did a search you have to push Bixby button also on Note 9. I had seen that before but forgot. :))
I had the same wallpaper before , I'm gonna make a poster of it .
Great video.. tnx
How does the 4th point save battery ? I would say this would increase battery usage as the OS will continuously check for location changes and turn on/off the wifi automatically. I would suggest to turn off this option, and when heading out just turn off the wifi manually like most people do. When you are back and you dont wanna be on your sim network data, turn off the network data and turn on the wifi. Saves double the battery.
Was looking to see if anyone was gonna call him on that, if not I would've. Good catch bruh
THANK YOU SO MUCH
Has always been a pain since my s3 days. Canf believe that up until today on the s20 it still bothers a lot of people.

Great! Tips, petty good
i tried all the steps except the last one and i will give a report tomorrow if it did work btw thank you so much for clarity and easy instructions !!!!!
EDIT : This method saved me around 15 % - 20% battery and that's pretty great
Hey Jimmy. I enjoy your videos and have found many to be very useful.
I have a Galaxy S10e with AT&T. I'm still not able to get the Android 10 update. I did the clear cache trick in the reboot mode.
Any other suggestions for me to get the update? The customer service people at At&t are unable to help. I don't want to factory reset my phone, I'd lose so much. Thanks!
You can download the latest AT&T firmware for the s10e and using odin to flash it to your phone. ( When you download the firmware you will se 5 files, you will need all of them except the csc one, you will take the home_csc, that mean that you won't factory reset the phone.) Do some research in order to do so, it's not even hard if you watch some tutorials etc. You can learn and read and see it for 15-30 minutes and you will know what to do.
Thanks my guy
