  • Scott sits down with Gala from the Mongolian Rock band The Hu to talk about their unique style and huge viral hits with the help of band manager Tuga translating in English and Mongolian. Gala talks about the heavy metal influences behind Hunnu Rock, their upcoming debut album, how the band's first two music videos went viral and fans learning how to sing along to their songs in Mongolian.
Plus, Gala lets us know which Rock Icon he would pick to replace him in The Hu if he ever couldn't make it to a show.
This interview was filmed in London ahead of the bands first ever UK and European Tour.

It's amazing when you hear what he can do on stage and here he is so quietly spoken.

    • @YourShadowKeeper

To me, it seems like the mic's they're holding weren't turned on/plugged in or they are broken because the majority of the sound seems to be picked up from a mic nowhere near Tuga or Gala. Which could be why Gala sounds so incredibly quiet in this interview when normally he's not this quiet.

The hilarious part is nobody it seems has caught on yet that the people doing the translating are all his relatives who are bilingual saying random things and then saying the improvised things that sound like he answered the question when they give the answer in English. This shows how they could be saying absolutely anything in Mongolian and those who only speak and understand English are absolutely clueless because they don't bother ever learning to speak anything else especially white Americans or so it seems anyway. I keep noticing this in all of the interviews they do with English being used in translation because they can and it shows they have a definite sense of humor.

It brings out my frustration, anger and all other raw emotions with Mongolian government who betrayed his own people and proud ancestry for over the last 20 years. This resonates with everybody around the world especially during this tumultuous time. A lot of the imagery in the videos and maybe a bit of the sound remind me a bit of Native American style, although it's obviously not derivative of that, more like a "cousin," so to speak. Mongolian culture, from what little I know, is historically a warrior culture, similar to Western Native's societies. Is that what the music speaks of--I've read the English sub-titles on the songs that have them--is using that warrior force to help and heal the planet?
