Beach Fishing - Milford on Sea - Plaice & Bream
Вставка
- Опубліковано 31 бер 2022
- A trip to Milford on Sea and the first session of British Summer Time and an early attempt at catching a ray. Fishing with the AFAW 6&B, Penn Fathom casting specials and two different 5' rigs to scratch out 4 different species.
The Any Fish Any Where 14’ mk2 rod called the “6 and Bait” perfectly describes the intention and sets the foundation of this set up.
Penn Fathom II amzn.to/3HBKT8Z
Six and bait amzn.to/3vlZgMa
Genie link amzn.to/36LuVw7
Swivel amzn.to/3BSRsm2
Asso Ultraflex amzn.to/3C8JwgV
Asso ultracast amzn.to/3IFpnBz
Teamed up with these rods are the Penn Fathom 2 casting specials loaded with 0.36mm, 20lb ASSO ultra-cast. Following this lead is the shockleader also made by ASSO and called ultra-flex. I have chosen 70lb & 80lb to give myself some choice.
The rig for most of this year is a 5’ pulley rig made with Trident Tackle, the latest release Dynaform and the mk2 version of the Termalink.
The chosen lead weight Is The Gemini grip weight with the solo bait clip built in.

Great session and great watch, great beach on its day 👍👍
It can fish very well when it switches on and I’m lucky to have it nearby. Thanks for watching 🎣👍🏻
Was good to meet you. Great session at a brilliant mark. Very happy with my PB undulate!
And so you should be, it looked an absolute cracker. 🎣👍🏻
Glad your back, well done great video mate keep them coming tight lines 🎣
Cheers Ian, I have loads planned for this year and plenty of new venues. 🎣
Nice to see you back Mark, keep up the good work in both lines of your life!
Thank you Peter, I hope you are well and dipping a line. 🎣👍🏻
we've mist ya mister, glad your well and well done on getting the grey ships ready. Hope we don't need them.
Same thoughts here buddy but better to be prepared than not. 🎣👍🏻
@@seaangling Agree Mark. Son-in-law is based Faslane on the V-class. About 35yrs service and I found out last night his CPO has just been confirmed. Very proud of him, and you!
Another great session Mark, can't wait for the next one. 👍
I was out on the boat today but will be back on a beach very soon.
I thought I was the only one with that Beach shelter LOL.
Great vid mate keep them coming,
Tight lines
They are very bright in direct sunlight but the colour matched the logo. 😉
@@seaangling Also attract the fecking flies too, bloody things, especially in the warm sun
@@john45305 😕 I haven’t experienced that yet.
Cracking vid Mark, worth the wait. Keep it Reel
Thank you Rick, once the season starts to build there will be many more. The next video is already edited and ready for release on Friday. 😉🎣👍🏻
Good to see you back out, wondered where you had been and, forgot you worked on HM Ships. Hoo Hum
It has been a busy period but has quietened down now the ships are deployed.
Nice to see you out again Mark, glad you're well and enjoying your fishing, great session and can't wait to fish there again myself. Tight lines
It is a cracking venue and one I’ve fished regularly over the past 6 months. I’ll be back there soon but the weed will soon become a problem.
Cracking bream Mark and a lovely plaice
I was chuffed the plaice showed and surprised at the size of the bream.
Good to see you back, well deserved good session. 👍
It was a nice relaxed but busy session. Thoroughly enjoyed it and the sunset was amazing.
fantastic session Mark nice to see some summer species appearing now
It was encouraging and to see them in such good condition and reasonable size. 🎣
Great to see you back out again Mark and a nice little session too... Nice to see bream around already... Hopefully a sign of things to come
It was very encouraging to see Steve but I am still chasing my first significant ray of this year. 🎣👍🏻
I'm still waiting my first Ray too.... Took my son Dean to hordle cliffs last week and he had a small eye first cast.... I can't repeat my words 🤣
@@stevenewell6898 I will be fishing Hordle again soon, another venue I love.
Lovely plaice Mark excellent angling
Cheers buddy, it was an enjoyable session. 🎣
Great video mark glad to see you back looking forward to the next one
It was nice to spend time on the beach.
@@seaangling hi mark it’s always nice to be out on the beach
Cracking video mate informative as always keep them coming mate really enjoyable to watch cheers tight lines 🎣
I’m glad you liked it, I know I’m a bit marmite. 🎣👍🏻
Nah mate ya a funny bloke real good watch mate 🎣
@@JedBewick-ro6qy cheers, appreciate it. 🎣👍🏻
Great video Mark. I fished there on Tuesday, same tactics. Only had a ting, but an enjoyable day none the less.
I find it fishes best from a building tide, 2-3 days into the increasing tide. Enough movement to fish well but not too much to affect the ability to hold bottom. Some prefer to fish this area on the ebb but I prefer 2 hours either side of high.
Great session Mark, plaice and Bream both nice sized fish
I was surprised by both looking as good as they did this early in the season. The bream was a stunner.
@@seaangling it certainly was a plump one! You should give Mrs W a present!
Beautiful evenings fishing. Thanks for sharing....
It was a stunning sunset and with being out for that alone. The fishing was a bonus.
Nice session. Good variety too. 🎣
I had 2 methods on the go but the 2 hook clipped at distance was working the best.
Nice session thanks Matt! Lots of useful info & advice! Well done on the 4 species, Mr Plaice would have had an invitation to my frying pan - one of my favourite fish to eat! Being as you uploaded this on April 1st, I half expected you to be reeling an old Boot or something up the beach! 😁😁 Best regards - stay safe & well, Dave. 🎣🎣👍👍
I did consider keeping the plaice but he was nicely hooked and got really lively in the bucket so back he went.
Watching your video today makes me really want to get out on the beach fishing it’s been over a year since l last went to be honest Maybe lost a bit of confidence guess l just need to get back in the saddle and I’m sure it will all come back to me..
I would suggest a warmer lighter evening and a gentle dabble somewhere like Southbourne. Lots of species and a Sandy beach as a backdrop.
@@seaangling thanks for your advice Mark l have a nice little spot just down the road from on littlehampton beach..
@@mrlv8126 hi if you are near littlehampton try east Preston beach I have had Ray's to 7 1/2lb and hounds to just under 10lb last year it's a nice beach to fish plus lots of other species
Great to see you out fishing. A nice plaice and bream. When I use to Milford shingle bank alot of years ago it was always on a neap tide on the ebb. Springs always presented a weed problem. Out on my boat on Sunday with my eldest son. Rays being the first target hopefully a spurdog or two, then I've a new mark to try. Could be anything there, possibly bream. They were in the area in Dec and Jan so who knows. Your doing a great job looking after our ships.
My boat is all prepped and ready for an early start tomorrow. Going to try drifting for bass and then static for plaice.
I like the idea of static for plaice or drifting for them. You have the bass. They're not really my bag. OK if they come along. Have a good day.
Another great session and video mate. Bet that bream was a surprise? 👌
It was a cracker and made for a nice session.
Nice little mix bag session 👍
I couldn’t have hoped for much better this early in the season. I was blessed with the absence of Tings.
Target fish first catch happy days 👍
Always feels nice when target is achieved and makes everything else feel more positive. 👍🏻🎣
I missed you too, work 🙄😂. Great trip and a cracking bream, but no flippy floppy tails 🎣🐟
There was a silent FFT 😉
Hi mate nice to see you back that was a lovely plaice and what a cracking bream must have been 1 1/2 lb at least if not a bit more last couple times I have planned to go the wind has veered round to on shore and picked up still looking for my first ray hope to catch up soon am down your way end of may tight lines mate
I should of weighed that bream shouldn’t I just out of curiosity?
The continuous wind has been relentless over the past few months and when it has eased it’s been pure easterly. 🤨
@@seaangling it has been a pain mate was going to try and go tonight but been working all day and high is around half one in morning next set of big tides is around 11 ish so fingers crossed 🤞
great video mark 👌👌👍👍
i hope to have a go for rays soon i hope
We are lucky to have a series of beaches all along the south coast that rays frequent. I do like the area between Milford and Bournemouth.
@@seaangling its just under 3 hours from where I live to chesil so I don't get down to the south coast as much as I would like
Nice one mark beautiful bream 👊👊
It was a cracker and surprised me this early in the season. It gave a cracking bite and a good account of itself. Fought hard enough to earn its release. 🎣👍🏻
@@seaangling nice one bud 👊👊
hi mark you ok mate . another enjoyable vid. all the best mate from grimsby.
A nice start to the season but I think this cold snap will have it taking a step back.
@@seaangling i'm thinking of getting a pair of 6 n baits mark. Can you cee bites with smaller specis .?. I got a pair of hellrazors ,they are brilliant but i'm off further up north and fancy something a bit heavier but not to much. Iff you got to sling a 7oz on would it cope ok. Cheers mark.
@@carldawson832 I had the Century Fireblades previously and they are very stiff tipped and didn’t show smaller bites, the 6&B’s do.
For even cheaper rig twine, I cut the bit that goes over your nose on the disposable face masks (which are everywhere!) does the job perfectly 👌
How do you keep your mask in place? 😂
@@seaangling old ones…🤣
Nice video and cracking bream!
Would you mind shearing some information regarding location as I m not local and would love trying myself to!
Thanks
Absolutely, the easiest way is to use “what3words” for the most accurate location.
LINGERING-SPEECHES-VETS
Got it👍
Thanks
Dear Mr Williams, I am a Dorset lad, so used to beach casting at Abbotsbury Beach (Chesil), but since moving to Southampton way, I've never really learnt where best to go beach casting around here. Where would you recommend most for feathers/ mackerel fishing? Thanks :)
They are few and far between along south central and it can be hit and miss.
Stokes bay would be the best option I think.
@@seaangling ah yea, I heard about stokes bay, but gotta admit wasn't the first place that sprung to mind thanks for the tip! Whats your thoughts on Lepe - Gypsy lane (to the right of the main carpark as you look out to sea) A bit snaggy I think but not sure.
Nice plaice Mark wot was the tide doing in this session
It was a lower size tide and I had the place towards the end of the flood, the bream I had at the top of the flood just at sunset. The doggies came at slack and the start of the ebb. I hope that helps. 👍🏻🎣
Rotator Cuff injury, do some rear delt exercises, helps no end.
The thing is it doesn’t hurt all the time but is a killer when it is playing up.
