Yep. You just need the app to book your trains which will automatically generate a QR code for your journey. The train conductor will only need to scan this and you are good to go.
Hello. I also had a hard time understanding this concept, till now. On the interrail website users review someone explained this clearly maybe you can check this link below community.eurail.com/eurail-interrail-passes-41/what-is-supposed-to-be-my-outbound-inbound-journey-is-it-compulsory-to-use-those-days-1332
Nice video. But completly different to my rail planner which is driving me crazy. I cannot add my saved trips to my pass. It just takes me back to planner to search journeys.
Hey little question, how many days before you can generate the QRCODE? Also if you want to get a seat on the train you have generated this QRCODE right? or you can just save it and that would guarantee you to get a seat on the train?
the QR code is generated when you start your travel day. For example is you decide to start your first day of interrail from Brussels to Amsterdam, you just look for the trains to your destination and the moment you save your journey, it will generate the QR. The QR is enough for you to get into the trains and sit anywhere not unless you are getting a train which requires seat reservation.
@@sapeurkenyan1611 oh so when I save the journey, mean that I have a seat on the train and to get in just need to generate the QR to get into it? thank you so much for your help!
hello, I bought a one-month global pass continuous ticket. Now I got activation mail. I want to start my interrail ticket in summer. I wonder if I do the steps in mail, will it be activated directly? Should I do these steps in the summer? Also, can we buy interrail tickets without a passport? I want to get a passport after buying the ticket. thanks.
Hello. First of all, the traveling days will start counting the moment you do your first travel. When you click activate for example on July 5th, it will start from that day. Since you have a one month continuous pass, every day is a travel day. Your ticket is valid for upto 11 months which means you can start anytime within this period. There is no problem if you put your details in the interrail rail planner app, so long as you do not click activate my pass. The days won’t start counting. Secondly, according to the terms and conditions, a passport / residence permit/ identity card of countries within the EU and some other European countries. I would invite you to check this link for more info: www.interrail.eu/content/dam/pdfs/terms-and-conditions/CoU%20SCIC-RPT_v7.pdf
@@volkanerenerdogan7586 nothing will happen so long as you do not activate you first day of travel you are good. The app is useful in getting to plan your routes.
Are the travel days at once or can i pick for example 6 days in 30 days when i want to travel? Does the 6 days just count if i pick a train with QR -Code? or do i need to deactivate the pass on the days i won't be using it?
You don't need to reserve a seat in most trains but we have some trains which you just must reserve one eg the French high speed trains (TGV) and night trains. Personally, I did not reserve any seat during the whole of my Interrail journey. The trick was using the slightly longer routes with connections from one train to another till I reached the target destination. This helped me avoid reserving seats in some trains, otherwise seat reservation prices aren't that much expensive, usually from around 6 euros. If that can save you from connecting to trains and using slightly less hours to reach your destination, then it's an option to consider. Actually you can simulate an interrail journey using the rail planner app without even getting the interrail subscription . This will give you a better picture about seat reservation requirement.
Thanks for some great advice. Happy travels to everyone!
Thank you for explaining this clearly!

Hi Sapeur, I wanted to ask, if internet connection ist needed to generate the QR Code?
Yes you do
Youre the king, but can i somehow travel in first class by paying more?
Thanks haha. Yeah it's possible. Though I don't have much info regarding that.
