what to do if you don't have the swipe option to activate the ticket? It doesn't show up for me.
So the app is kinda glitchy, I would say try uninstalling and install again. For me, in some cases, it helped. If not, try emailing them: eurail.zendesk.com/hc/en-001/requests/new
Hi! how the Ticket office know that you can buy just a seat and not full pass? the ticket for your seat reservation is show on the app after you buy at ticket office or somehow is linked with app?
Linked or you need to show it if you are buying in the ticket office. Plus, they check both on the train. You can't board without both.
I will be travelling using eurail in two weeks time. I have planned the trip journey. Should i swipe the toggle now for it to turn yellow? Or should i just wait until the travel day?
Make sure you have an active ticket with a bar code! Trip should be active in trips tab, otherwise it is only "saved" in journeys as a draft.
Hello Guzelia and nice video! I'll appreciate if you help me here. I'm about to buy a Interrail pass as I'll travel in 9 European countries from Austria Czech to Germany Netherlands France and Spain (some of them mentioned). From East to West .
My big concern is the seat reservations you said it's not possible to book them from the app not even from the website and you need to go on the station and sometimes even on station and even 2 days before your journey seat reservations are already booked this sounds difficult to deal with especially with a journey thay you use a lot of trains.
I want to ask you after your experience what do you think is the best and most convenient way to do it?
Also do you think if I'll buy the First Class pass I'll have more possibilities to find seat reservations instead of 2nd class?
I mean first class ticket don't sell so fast as 2nd class right?
I calculated my budget and with the pass I save a big amount of train costs but I don't want to lose my days on searching for reservations.

Hey hey! Awesome plans; I hope you have a great holiday. Seat reservations are not an issue for every single country. In France, you can book them by phone and pay with a credit card for example. Or Austria has an easy tool for seat reservations. My biggest pain was Spain (Madrid Barcelona speed 2-hour train). My advice:
1) Please check this link www.interrail.eu/en/plan-your-trip/reservations/how-do-i-book-my-reservations in advance and check what options are available for each country.
2) Plan in advance if possible. For me booking from the app never worked but maybe it is just my issue; who knows. With some research and planning in advance, you should be fine. Just don't hope that tickets will be available day before - most often they
3) If you are traveling in the summer - make sure you book things as early as possible. It is the busiest season.
4) ASAIK, the pass is refundable (90% of the price) and there is an option to pay extra 15 euros and then you get a fully refundable option. If you are in doubt about seat reservations - maybe worth considering that options.
5) If you see a certain country is posing a potential issue, make sure you have a backup booking for a train with no seat reservation. Or make a seat reservation the moment you come to Spain. Worst case scenario you can always buy a full price ticket which I actually had to do once.
Interrail pass does save money, especially if you take speed trains - I agree with you. Also it is a fun experience, gives you some sense of freedom. Hope all works out for you

I'll go from Paris to Barcelona and from Barcelona to Madrid .

@@firstneverfollows9988 For Barcelona-Madrid, I had to buy a full-price ticket. I wanted ticket for the same week and they had no seat reservations available for the next 3 weeks.I think the cashier explained that only certain fraction of train is allocated for seat reservations. In Spain you can only come to the station and book a seat reservation (they are all paper-based, and no electronic options are available). About 1st class - I would think so since 1st class is more expensive. I booked my seat reservation late for Paris to Barcelona, and there were no 2nd class seat reservations left but the lady on the phone suggested seat reservation for extra charge. So for me that was the case. But it may depend on the season.
