I don't like these debates but Mercedes had the clearly best car in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2020. Ferrari should have won and arguably had a better car in between, but hamilton delivered results, even when the car was nowhere performance wise. I remember singapore gp watching live in 2018. Merc was supposed to qualify 5/6th at best, Lewis' quali lap was so shocking, the entire grandstand went silent in awe. Even his team didn't comprehend what he just did, because he beat the time predicted as the 'perfect lap' by their simulation tools. That's greatness. I had Australians (Daniel Riciardo fans) next to me, who just respectfully acknowledged what happened - they expected DR and red bull to get pole there. He converted pole to race win by managing the race. Ferrari and Red Bull were much better cars there. I can't think of any moment Verstappen delivered where he shouldn't have, and racing fairly while at it. These are the moments that define these top drivers
can't think of one instance when Hampton has won in a car that wasn't at least as fast as its nearest competitor. Verstapen won 2021 weather you agree with What happened in Abu Dhabi or not in s car that a cross the season was not as competitive as the Merc. 3 years in for Mercedes with Hamilton being their front man and their car just got worst specially in 2024 when they finally decided to give Lewis what he wants.

I am talking about which driver is better at finding the right setup for their cars.
Lewis had been struggling with his setups since 2022.
Which explains his inconsistent results, why is doing a lot of "experiments", and why Mercedes are clueless on how to resolve his confidence issues.
Max rarely have a bad setup, and even if he failed at optimizing his setup he can manage to make a great recovery.
Probably because he is better at sims, and sims are being used extensively for car setup during free pratice.

So he had the best car in 21 of the 22 races last year because red bull won them, but proved he couldn't win in a car that wasn't the fastest in singapore. According to your logic though if he had won in singapore he would've had the fastest car, so wouldn't have proved it anyway. Looking at perez his results you can definitely argue that max didn't have the fastest car in 21 of the 22 races. Max won races while perez wasn't even close to the podium. Max made last years red bull the most dominant car in terms of wins in f1, due to his speed and consistency. It wasn't the most dominant car in f1 history. It was nowhere near the 1988 mclaren, 2002 and 2004 ferrari and the 2014-2016 mercedes in terms of pace advantage, 1-2s and double podium percentages.

I'd bet every other driver on the grid also wished they were in an Adrian Newey designed car for the last 8 years. A driver who can race at 9/10ths always looks good in comparison to the rest of the field at 10/10ths, just pulling the pin on their grenades and hoping they don't blow.

Max yesterday in a Ferrari would mean Ferrari in pole, Max yesterday in McLaren would take McLaren to pole. Max is better. 2023 was a season when Max got out more from the car then Lewis got out of the best Mercedes cars over seven years. Lewis has never capitalized on the car as Max does, Max can win on ever track. I think you critic on Max suits more on Lewis.
Jim Clark is the greatest to have ever graced the sport. You could argue that Max is or will be (when it’s all said and done), the second greatest of all time, behind Jimmy. But besides that, I agree with everything you said.
In all honesty, none of this would be an issue if the media and fans of F1 weren't so insistent that Hamilton is mid when he's actually had competition for the majority of his title winning seasons. It's just hilarious that all of their points against Lewis are even more appropriate points against Max but they refuse to acknowledge it.
I mean, its in the media's interest to hype up Max. There are lots of Dutch fans that just started watching F1 when Max got succesfull.

I don’t agree with the way this video is portrayed, he’s not a fraud and definitely one of the best to ever do it (much like Hamilton, Schumacher, Senna ect), but I can really understand where this frustration comes from. This online delusion of Max being this racing Jesus that would’ve challenged for wins last year in a Ferrari or merc or mclaren is absolute nonsense. What a lot of these crazed fans don’t get is that this is a constructors sport, the fastest car wins (helps to have the fastest driver in that car). I think it’s much the same as Hamilton, a once dominant driver who is now struggling to get into the top 5 not because he is washed it was always bad, but because his car is capable of it. If Lecrec, Sainz, Hamilton, Russle, Norris, or Alonso were in Max’s car last year and Max took any of there’s then Max would’ve given up title hopes past round 2. You can do as good as your car and luckily for Max he got the most dominant car in f1 history.

Max couldn’t win the championship in a midfield car ofcourse, anyone who says otherwise is not knowledgeable of the sport at all.
I have to disagree though about the RedBull last year being the most dominant in history, because simply the gaps were not big. It got the highest win percentage because it was the fastest, there are more races and cars are reliable these days.
In 2016 the Mercedes was good enough to win every race comfortably, if not for crashes and reliability problems, and the gaps in qualifying were massive compared to now. Similar story with the 1988 McLarens.
While the RedBull last year didn’t work very well in Singapore, it was barely ahead of the McLarens on multiple occasions, and crucially qualifying was often quite close.
