- And here is the other slugcat (slugpup rather :p) from the new Solace update!
I love the mechanics on this pup, being able to craft traps and flame spears from scratch is super fun, and I can't believe you can even customize the traps in whichever way you want!
The Slugcat is the Poacher, from the (now renamed) "Solace" mod made by "MusicalMiracle" (Or Elliot in the Rain World Discord :) )

It's kinda like he is spectating the brawl and getting excited with jumps :p
They should add a skill where they *intentionally* make sound that attracts predators, so the traps can work more properly. This scugcat also helps witn preds softlocking you cause there's no way around them.
That is a cool idea for a feature, maybe you can just use a rock instead and throw it though since I imagine the sound could be enough to attract them to you :p
@@lolight2 at times the noise a rubbish hit does is at times so hella weak that lizards kinda ignore it. Probably something like a strong pop that attracts predators, or maybe just a cherry bomb but the complete opposite. Just saying
Preds like Dropwigs preventing or at least making progression through a region a lot more harder due to them "camping" basically the only way forward?
@@aerothallji6514Referring to other predators like lizards blocking tunnels, or a miros bird being in the way of a pipe. There are at times they are exactly in the way, and their pathfinding is broken that they cant be bothered to move. Dropwigs are fine, they can be just...there. (dropwigs aren't fine i hate them 💔)
@@xX_prodeadbird_Xx I think the distinction you are trying to make is that one is blocking the way in a covert and intentional way, and the other is blocking the way because the path finding decided a lizard should be in front of the only tunnel to your destination for the entire rain timer haha xD
o'that these traps are much more useful than I thought it would be cool to have a game mode that only wants to kill and feed like that

No problem! I really like signal boosting this game since it is probably my favorite game of all time :D
I'd say one of the major problems with the Poacher is that there aren't enough opportunities to utilize the traps. The spore one is kinda useless since the centipedes are super weak anyways. The bomb one is certainly strong, but cherry bombs are rather scarce. And electric traps are very strong, but have the most situational materials required to use it.
Maybe if there was a weak trap that required only 2 rocks, or if you could put spears into the trap, then I would be able to use traps often. Because right now, 80-90% of my encounters as Poacher are just rock and spear.
Basically the unique part of Poacher (traps) is rather situational right now, and hopefully a wider arsenal of traps would fix that.
I think that if the trap on its own without any materials put into it became a bear trap (like the kind that snaps and keeps the enemy still and stuck to it) it would make the trap usage go up a lot!
But as it stands it is also really fun to load it with 3 explosives and send an enemy to the moon. xD
I haven't gotten around to trying the electric trap yet, but I am curious :)
@@lolight2 It would be cool if they could make this "bear trap" specifically target the legs, injuring them.
Also for the electric charges, you need to load the trap with either jellyfish or flash fruit.

The ability to craft flame spears and literal fucking mines is REALLY powerful... But at this point you just need a joke rifle to load the flame spears into to turn from poacher to soldier.
Although growing up and getting some of that urban camo would help.
Flame spears are really powerful, but the explodey plant needed to make them seems kind of scarse :S
Plus you do get less damage by default because of being a pup, and the spawns are harder!
It seems quite overpowered at first but I died so many times while playing it xD
This is truly a stepped on a thumb tack moment!

Oh don't worry! I tried throwing the little bombs and they barely do any damage at all, it's pretty well balanced! :)

Have you been running to a similiar issue?
Apparently there is a slugcat which causes the Slugcats to be unable of crafting and swallow objects, i have a bunch of custom slugcats installed because i play with friends and it's really difficult to tells whos messing with the feature.
Unfortunately I have ran into issues like that in the past :(
What I do to mitigate them usually is I only keep the specific slugcat I am using enabled so that there is no ability cross over, it means a lot less bugs this way!
I don't know specifically which slugcat could be causing your issue though :(
@@lolight2 Good news! I found the slugcat causing the issue!
Apparently the Enigma slugcat is the one causing it, which is odd since he uses the transform mechanic aswell.

How do you craft the traps? The chart is rlly confusing to me
It's pretty easy to figure out the crafts, usually a rock mixes with almost anything else to make a trap, 2 rocks make a spear, a spear and an explosive plant makes mini explosives for the trap, and if you mix a mini explosive and the spear you get a flame spear :)
As for the trap you can arm it with a bunch of different things, explosives, mushrooms, I think flashbangs also work.

i was triying to play solace mod but when i play it it's just survivor, you know why this happends?
Try disabling other mods, Solace is pretty big so you want to use it mostly on it's own!

i tried again with al mods disable except solace, slugbase, fisobs, rain world remix and more slugcat expansion (dependencies) and nothing, i am a non steam player, idk if could it do something at my game@@lolight2
hey, i tried again with no mods expect solace and dependencies but it's survivor in all, i think is because rainDB problem with versions, or github (i tried githup to) and isn't the one is survivor, it's happends with all mods campaigns@@lolight2

You need to load them up with items like shrooms, or explosives :)
