Thank you so much even though jobs and colleges are a couple years away I was struggling to think of a job because my family isn’t very fortunate for many years of college
22 years old, and I’m looking into becoming a firefighter but I’m watching this for some guidance, as I do respect and admire what the firefighters do, I don’t know if seeing dead bodies etc is for me yet 🥺🥺
I’ve never been a paid firefighter, but I did have my EMT-Basic and volunteered with a local fire department for a few years back in my early 20’s. I absolutely loved it. The training was fun. The people were great. The camaraderie was awesome. Showing up on scene and getting to help someone who was having what could have been the worst day of their life was an honor. You can’t save everyone. And that part is hard. I don’t think anybody enjoys that aspect of the job. However, knowing you helped as many people as you could makes it all worth it at the end of the day. I can’t think of many jobs that have a more rewarding purpose than to help someone in their hour of need. On top of that the pay can be pretty good (depending on the department) and the schedule is hard to beat. -Alex
I wanted to get in one of the medical fields but every single one is a Selective process so it’s basically playing the lottery and a gamble to even try to get in.
Water treatment has a wide variety of jobs you can do so it really depends on what angle you want to take with it. If you sell/ install R.O. Systems you can make a lot on commission if you’re good. Or you can go work for a city at a water treatment facility as a level 1 Operator. Depending on the city they can make anywhere from $18/hr to $32/hr starting. Within a few years and after a few more certifications you could easily make over $100k as you work your way up to a level 3 operator or get into Management. Every city is different. Some require 2 years of experience and some don’t require any experience. My advice is look around and see who will hire you without experience and get paid to learn on the job!
I was studying to become a airplane tech, unfortunately it’s not my passion I did like it yet. It was not something I saw me doing next 10yrs. I’m a car guy love everything automobile. But I’m not mechanic type enthusiast. My knowledge is more on the names, price, horse power, an all number type of specs. I was thinking to try Tesla tech but I’m not sure. Anyone knows some degrees that are no longer then 2yrs ? I’m 21, I want a career I can grow a family an financially be stable in the future.
It can be, absolutely. I think it’s more important to have a plan. If the plan or career field you want requires a degree then it’s important to get it when/while you can.
General studies are great to take while you figure out what your next move is. Only real advice - figure out that next move! Job shadow if you need to, take some internships, find what it is you like!

The problem with 2 yr degrees is that most of them takes 4 yrs these days because of stupid useless requirements one has to take.
MRI/CAT scans are different degree than Diagnostic Medical Sonography, they’re both two year degrees
The ugly friend joke made me cringe but great video lol.

Surprised electrician or plumber werent mentioned, many of them make 6 figures.
Been thinking about being a construction worker, because homesteaders build stuff too.
Wouldn’t be a 2 year program. They have many licenses and possibly have to start a business which takes years to build

The amount you get paid depends on where you live. Every state is different so we went off of the national averages.
