How I Saved Money on Tools?

  • I have always liked the idea of an 18v drill with interchangeable chucks. It's the flexibility of the 12v installation type drills with the power of an 18v drill. This Bosch model always seemed to be more money than I wanted to spend because it's only sold in a kit. But then I found a reconditioned version on Acme Tools website. At over $100 off, I jumped at the chance. So check out this initial unboxing and see if you think reconditioned are worth taking a chance on.

Did you know that the SDS attachment in Malaysia can be puchased for about 40 USD (RM 160) in local online shopping apps. If you have a friend in Malaysia then you can ask his/her help to purchase the adapter and send it to you by international courier like DHL etc.
That adapter is really convenient & helpful for minimal drilling tasks (6mm holes)

I have had the 18v flexiclick for almost 2 years now, it has never let me down yet

I have loved it so far. My only complaint is I wish it had the quick insert collet. It’s something small but it makes nicer to use in my opinion.

That thing looks awesome as is without the Chuck. Thing looks brand new! Definitely worth it. I have a Milwaukee Gen 3 impact driver reconditioned and there’s definitely no difference at all in performance compared to the one I bought new. Not many touch on the reconditioned tool topic. Great review and demonstration on it man👊

Thank you as always. This purchase has definitely given me the courage to try reconditioned tools more often.

@@TinkerWithTools for sure. There are many fret reputable sources for reconditioned. eBay, Amazon, acme. Authorized retailer, factory recon, are keywords to look for on eBay. You have to be careful on there

Another great, concise, to the point review. Makes me regret having purchased the Dewalt DCD805E2T-QW a few months ago. Even though the Dewalt is a great drill, the anti kickback on the Bosch + the lower price + the various attachments makes me regret buying the Dewalt a little bit. Can't wait for the more in depth head to head.

I attempted to do a head to head but the Bosch ended up smoking a little bit.

I have the 12v and love it. It’s interesting that Bosch goes with a different mechanism for attachment, I didn’t expect that. I wonder if two are interchangeable?

They are not interchangeable. It would be nice if they were though.

Awesome topic 👏 I've bought rigid tools that were factory reconditioned and its been working really good for monthes I actually bought the ridgid small blower inflator absolutely love it very powerful and I haven't had any trouble

I think it will all depend on the tool and the price... small discounts on really important tools aren't going to sway me... but getting a discount on something that I didn't know if I would love was worth it to me.

@@TinkerWithTools yes your favorite tool the little blower went up in smoke.... little advice its brushed so any blockage or straining of the motor will fry it 😉 I was seriously upset 😡 when it smoked and vowed never to buy a brushed tool again... so I have no brushed tools in my 240 tool arsenal btw I just bought the dcd 800 love it... but flex24v midrange goes 2200 and 600 so its close compared to 650 and 2000 I believe the dewalt is stronger but depending on battery its still not official

That Bosch looks as good as new probably no real risk with that buying it reconditioned. I fix up stuff on my channel however it is not fixed to a high standard like that usually enough to get it functioning again.
    There is quite a difference.

I agree. The source really makes a difference when it comes to where you are getting. Bosch and Acme Tools don’t gain anything from selling garbage.

😱 You got the 18v???? Nice!!! One of the few tools I don’t have that I want (have the 12v brushless, Bosch, dewalt and m12). Nice man!!! I’ve stayed away from reconditioned stuff, but for the right price, I’d give it a shot too. Where did you get it reconditioned if you don’t mind my asking? Love to see how it measures up!

yeah, just realized I didn't actually mention it in the video. I just looked at it now and it's not in stock but I think it comes and goes as they have some available.

my favorite cheap luxury was the Matrix from Black and Decker because it did more than just screw screws in different ways. It had multiple types of saws, had a router, an oscillator, tire inflator, Da Matrix wuz All da things! That thing was awesome and I used it as my ONLY arsenal through 2018 🎉🏅🎊
I stopped promoting it because it and its attachments are practically unobtainable even online and B&D seemingly hates the US. All of their good stuff is foreign market only and the Matrix attachments are flat out _better_ overseas(the US versions are cheap and have no vacuum dust ports). and its like... it's like..
. it's like they only sell 1.3Ah batteries here. You can't get a bigger battery even if you wanted to.. so it seems. So I do not recommend it and Black&Decker upsets me

Black and Decker used to be the brand when I was a kid. Now they have pumped up DEWALT and thrown black and decker out in the cold.
