Yessah Fishing back with another Big Island Hawaii Drone Fishing episode! CJ of TBD Fishing has caught his New PB Kahala (Amberjack) which came in at 23lbs! Later in this video brother Jared, also of TBD Fishing lands his first shibi (Yellowfin Tuna) from the rocks. Yellowfin tuna fishing is usually done from a boat until now. With a use of a DJI Phantom drone all things are possible. What a perfect way to land a dream fish.

Thank you Dave! I've been hagi free for quite some time now and the wahanui has taken it's place for sure haha. Indeed we have gotten quite far with drone fishing. A lot of trial and error, common sense is a huge factor in the whole learning process. This is something that literally anyone can do. I hope that this drone fishing method can hopefully help people catch their dream fish #tightlines

That's true, I've never seen or experience a drone crash with the clip. I was using the clip at first with my P4 and since this buggah is brand new I was paranoid with the clip & gave me a fright on the first drop, since I had the gannet i might as well make use🙏
awesome video! When you guy use a slide gaff what type of rope do you use?
I used a Marine rope cord from walmart, 75 ft about 8 bucks. That thing is still going strong and it pulled up a lot of fish while rubbing against the edge of the cliff, handles like a champ!

Thanks! Yes Kahala is a good eating fish 💯 they do have spaghetti worms in them, but they are quite harmless.

They flew me down there and interviewed me, and I got the job! So now, it's going to be awhile until I move there. I'm thinking of coming there on vacations now to work a little on it until I move there. Talk about being Melancholy, I was so excited to leave, but SpaceX is such a good job lol!

I was wondering when ur jogging do you use a leader line with sinker or you tie it with your main line all the way ?
Leader line tie straight to the solid ring on the Jig, no sinker 🤙
@@YessahFishing I always wondered..cause I was like there’s no sinker and they don’t get stuck...does those jiggs float?
@@youalreadyknow8087 The jigs are like lead sinkers, I use a 3oz Jig, perfect for what we do. You should give it a try someday. maybe start with a 30-50g weight jig and see what will bite.

You guys ever use a mavic or mavic pro for drone fish?
I used a Mavic Air to drone fish, that's how I got to land my Ono from shore. Our Buddy @catchnkook uses a Mavic pro, it's really stable in the air too. Good to use when it's not too windy out.
How do you keep your jig from getting snagged or stuck after releasing from drone?
We know the area where we fish is deep so when we do our first drop we let it sink for 5 minutes and then we quick retrieve. If we don't get snagged the first time then we drop it a little deeper if we wanted. When our spool gets halfway full then we retrieve even quicker so The Jig can move its way more towards the surface, less likely to get caught on a reef.

Length of rod , what test? Mahalo
In this video this I used a pen battle 3 high speed 8K 65lb braid paired with a 10-ft daiwa TDSURF1002MFS rod. To be honest I would not recommend this combo, the casting sucks I'm always getting knots, the guides of this rod is too small most likely because my reel and braid line is way too big 🤣. Basically I'm just working with what I got, paid 60 bucks at my local tackle shop for this rod, sending my lure out with the Drone though it doesn't give me any problems, just about all I could do with this combo really.

If there are worms in the flesh then usually we just pick them out, they are quite harmless.
