Shawn & Mel, their "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother", "Bus Stop" and "Carrie Anne" are next for you!! "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" will hit you in the feels!!
That's why it's so fun to watch your reactions. You two seem so close and very much on the same wavelength. For someone who WAS raised on this kind of music, maybe you can see why we are kind of stuck on 60s and 70s music. There was so much love, hope and peace between people. We still try to maintain those feelings today. It's harder now, but worth it.
I’m with you born in 1962 listening to my older siblings and my parents music so it was dipping all the way into the 40s but what a great time to be alive as far as music goes unbelievably great music today I’ll be polite peace love and joy to you and yours
Born in '55 and yes, our music was just the greatest. Point is, we didn't think it was super special because all we had to do was turn on the radio and this kind of thing just poured out, all the time. We were spoiled, I guess.
You guys are so sweet, it is always so wonderful to see a married couple that is so deeply in love. My husband and I will soon be 34 years. It brought tears to my eyes Mel when you said "Can you imagine being raised on this music? Life would be so different." I was, raised on this music and I can tell you for sure, absolutely, positively, that is did give me a different viewpoint of the world, and of love. I grew up listening to this music and it made me believe that as a woman I was deserving of respect and that masculine men were kind and feeling Music was this bright place for me, no matter what was going on in the world or in my life, the music was there in the background with a positive vibe making me feel hopeful . That is why it is such a wonderful thing to expose people to this music and show our children how to enjoy it and that good beautiful things can be fun. Another thing we had that children don't have anymore is music appreciation classes in school. I grew up being taught how to listen and pick out the sound of different instruments. I learned how to play the cello in the school orchestra, and how to read basic music notes. I learned how to sing harmony and perform with the school glee club. It didn't stop there though. The lyrics of songs inspired my interest in writing poetry, and that led to an appreciation for exploring all kinds of art. This has brought me much enjoyment over the years.. The beauty of music and art keeps my life balanced. You guys are really giving a service to people by just showing how to sit down and be still and listen to music with enjoyment and feeling. I think that is one reason I love listening to your channel so much. You two are so much fun. :)
Music and art have a civiliazing effect on people; that's why it's necessary that kids be exposed to them in the schools. We're seeing the effect of a lack of education in music and the arts.
Delisa, me and my hubby just reached 38 married years to go along with the 3 years of living together listening to beautiful music like this. Music makes the loving that much better imo! This couple is a breath of fresh air too!!!
I also grew up during one of greatest era's of fantastic music. Everything musical about the 60s and 70s had such a deep meaning and impact in a time when it was needed.
I highly recommend a song called "Don't Let Me Down." Of course, I could sit here all day and recommend Hollies songs. These guys were incredible and had such a long career producing so many hits.
I was raised on this music, I know every generation thinks their music was the best but the late 60s and 70s had the best hands down. One of my favorites is a Whiter Shade of Pale by Procol Harum, it won’t disappoint
The Hollies is definitely a rabbit hole worth going down... their music is timeless. THIS is my favorite song by them, with "Look Through Any Window" being a close second.
What are my very favorite groups of the 60s I’m a child of the 60s… In high school, these groups like the hollies were doing their thing and everything was all good. That rabbit hole for the hollies is very deep
As 70 year old white woman, I have enjoyed every video you made with music from the 50s, 60s and 70s. The music then was endless with new groups every week. American Bandstand was responsible for groups getting exposure. It was an exciting time. I have a request that is out of the ordinary. Gomer Pyle was a tv show that was in the 60s. Jim Nabors plays Gomer. There is one video where he sings The Impossible Dream and is unbelievable. His singing voice is nothing like his Gomer voice
As an old guy I concur... it was different back then. This was an average song on the radio at the time. We really did have great music back then. I feel very lucky to have grown up in that musical environment.
Discovered these guys in the late 60's during Vietnam with the song he ain't heavy he's my brother. Long cool women in a black dress is another. Long resume here.
I had to smile when you asked where do we find this music. We grew up with it on the radio! And yes, that music did become a part of who we were and who we are today. You two are a blessing to watch! I've been happily married 43 years and I wish you the same happiness for many years to come.
The Hollies have quite a few hits. My favourite is "He Aint Heavy". But here are more great songs by them. "Carrie Anne" "On A Carousel" "I'm Sorry Suzanne" & "I Can't Let Go"
Y'all are the best advertisement for finding your soulmate. Another epic share from The Lovers. May we all change for the better. Peace and Love. "He Ain't Heavy" and "Bus Stop" are essential Hollies.
I'm a firm believer that the music you gravitate toward has a huge impact on your outlook on life. So glad I was fortunate enough to grow up on this grenadine of music!! I'll never apologize for listening to it now.
My beloved mum's favourite group! The Hollies came from Manchester, about 30 miles from where I live. My early childhood is filled with their music. All the songs people have been suggesting are great. Alan Clarke , the lead singer, has one of the most distinctive voices ever
The Air That I Breathe 😮💨 ➕ ❤️ is a ballad written by Albert Hammond and Mike Hazelwood, initially recorded by Albert Hammond on his 1972 album It Never Rains in Southern California.
60's, 70's was my generation and we had the best music, took talent back then. I now have children, grandchildren and great grandchildren that all love the classic rock era, including 1 yr. old great grandson that loves Beatle music!
One of those moments... I can remember exactly where I was the first time I heard that soaring intro guitar note (on a school bus travelling to my first year of high school!). The song sent a shiver down my spine then, and it still does every time I hear it. Unforgettable.
(Wikipedia) The audio engineering for "The Air That I Breathe" was done by Alan Parsons. In an interview, Parsons mentioned that Eric Clapton said the first note of "The Air That I Breathe" had more soul than anything he had ever heard.

One of my top 5 favorite songs of all time... and yes... I came of age when this song was a hit... I am now 65 years old and understand the words better every day.
Perfect reaction!💖The Hollies really did breathe life into this Albert Hammond song, just incomparable. Also, I agree totally with everyone who has suggested that the next Hollies number that you should hit, and soon, is 'He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother' 🎶
I was raised on this. I smile when I think what my parents thought when 7 yr old was walking around singing this out loud, for weeks when it was at no.1 in 73-74 😅
Quintessential love song! All the romance, the soaring vocals, the timeless sentiment. I love The Hollies & The Guess Who for similar reasons: each of their popular songs has a unique sound given unto itself. Some bands can do a signature sound. Both of these bands can do signature quality for each individual song.
another amazing british band
"Imagine if you were raised on this!"
Thankfully I was 😁
Me too
Wth do u have to be raised on it? Absurd but absurd is the internet & those on it

Unmistakable opening you only need that one strum and you just know. Glorious
This was always such a cool song, The Hollies were amazing!
Watching you two hold hands listening to "All I need is the air that I breathe and to love you" makes me hopeful for the world.
