Jim DID capture "Time in a Bottle"... Think about it... Forty Nine years after recording this and dying (RIP), and his message can still be felt as strongly by today's young people as it for us when it first came out. THAT'S Timeless!

Jim Croce wrote this reflective song the night that he found out his wife, Ingrid, was pregnant. The couple had been married for five years, and Ingrid found out she was pregnant when she went to a fertility specialist. She recalls a mix of terror and delight in Jim's reaction when she told him the news. The child was a boy named Adrian, who grew up to become the singer-songwriter A.J. Croce.

True story. Right after my big brother died suddenly, I was crying to him that we didn't get to spend enough time together. At that moment, this song came on the radio.

He did an interview on tv and was asked about his accomplishments. He said he accomplished everything he wanted and if he died, that would be fine. He died later that day in a plane crash at the age of 30.

A great songwriter/storyteller. Jim was only with us a short time, but his music will touch us forever.

He did save time in a bottle. He left us his music as a reminder of what we should value. RIP

I lost my wife 6 years ago. This song has a whole new meaning when something like that happens. This song says everything that can't be said anymore.

This is a Perfect "Arguing with your Spouse" song. No Matter the Issue, this song puts your life, your LOVE into perspective. Life has it's little bumps, but they're nothing compared to having someone to love for the rest of your lives together.

At 75 it brings tears to my eyes. My love is gone. Times go by so so fast. Make every day a day of loving Your lover.

I lost my cat Cathy in August 2020 & I know it’s probably silly to grieve a pet but I remember her w/ this song🕊️💓

Awww, this was such a moving, sweet song. He wrote it for his little baby. Captures every parent's feelings perfectly, I think. One of the most timeless lines ever, still reverberates today:

I remember when he died in the plane crash. Loved his music. So long ago and an incredible loss to the music world. God bless him.

When my husband and I got married we were 21-it was 33 years ago and the one line that hit us was “I looked around enough to know, you’re the one I wanna go through time with”. He passed away 1-1/2 years ago and these words are on his gravestone. No truer words were spoken in my life-they felt like he wrote them for us. What a beautiful song. I will always cry hearing it, but now I can smile remembering what joy we had. Love each other and love your lives❤️

I remember hearing about his death on my small white transistor radio. I can still remember that exact moment. I ran into my older sister's room and we both started crying. This song always makes me cry when I hear it.

Jim’s music will always be timeless. Some music never dies. Here I am in tears Mel watching your emotional reaction. The same way I cried when we got the news of Jim’s death. I was 17 then, I am 66 now. R.I.H. 🙏🏽 Jim. We still 💕you.
