The podcasters told us their would be no drop off after benching DJ because he sucks and if DJ got hurt that Schoen should be fired. The podcasters were very WRONG!!

Honestly the Giants calling you about that video prove everything right about the soft ass culture this franchise has become about. They’re more concerned with saving face than making the tough decisions to bring back a winning culture. That video was super well done and presented both the positives and negatives of Joe Schoen - can’t ask for more than that. I’m happy to hear the call isn’t changing your approach to videos. You guys should continue to have that freedom and like you said, we can’t fake positivity - this is the worst season I can remember as a fan and they deserve all the criticism in the world.
Just wanted to take a minute to share my support for you guys and this channel. I appreciate you sharing what you did. It’s crazy to me that they’d want to suppress your perspective. You guys are one of the best Giants news channels out there because you are fans sharing heartfelt, educated, and logical arguments about all elements of the team. You don’t do gimmicky stuff, you want the team to win, and you always take a thoughtful approach. Just keep going guys. Consider this a win; the organization is listening, you’re making good enough points to have their attention, and they need to understand you’re representing a fair, fan perspective. The Giants should take a page from your book. As much as I’d like to, I can’t really watch a lot of content direct from the Giants because it’s so bias and there’s so much covering up the reality. I agree with Giants management… the timing of Draft evaluation is ill advised. Note I don’t disagree with most of current evaluation… I do disagree and think that it is way early to judge and give Schoen a grade. The Giants have been rebuilding the player personnel draft analysts department and the 2024 draft is proof they are on the right path and anyone can see the improvement from the first and second draft. Also note: Evan Neal not panning out is not on Schoen alone. He was in the building for like 1 month and picked this guy with Gentlemen personal. Also, I remember talking Giants and most pundits thought it was a great pick . Everybody in Giants Land missed on this guy so let’s not bump it on just 1 guy Schoen!
I admittedly don’t support this channel as well as I should. I’m a father of 3 with one being a soon to be 2 year old and I work nights and I am always tired and at times forget to like your videos and don’t have the extra funds to contribute to the channel but, with all that being said this is by far the best New York Giants channel out there not only because of how well spoken you guys are or how knowledgeable you both are (because the official Giants channel has a lot of smart guys on there too) but, first and foremost it’s the full transparency you guys provide to your fan base. There are no punches held back. You guys preach on everything that we see every Sunday and then some. And don’t act like we don’t see how bad we really are. Unlike the official Giants channel where they quite often refrain from speaking on things that they’re not allowed to speak of presumably of out of fear getting fired themselves and speaking for all Giants fans out there we appreciate everything that you guys do.
This just proves how bad of an organization the Giants really are and your video was completely right, Schoen has to go. Your video perfectly explains how bad he’s missed in the draft. And the plane is right: everyone needs to be fired. Nothing personal. They just did not do their job. I’ve been a Giants fan my whole life, and this is the closest I’ve ever been to completely abandoning the team. The fact that they, in their current unbelievably terrible situation, focus their energy on trying to silence you guys for simply speaking facts about the team is crazy.

I don't watch you guys on a regular but I have a lot of respect for you guys. The reason why is because many people would've folded with a call like that and instead you stood your ground and then put it out there what happened. Also, from what I have seen you guys have been fairly consistent. Not trying to call out others but there is one creator group that just floods UA-cam and flip flops, not from video to video but instead flip flops during the video.
Been listening to Talkin Giants since 2022 and what I love most is how transparent you guys are compared to other podcast that I would listen to. The first 10 minutes of this video helps me understand why the opinions of former players who are now analyst or guest on podcast really don’t matter 😂😂. They have to be soft spoken to avoid getting one of those phone calls. You guys call it how it is. We’re 🗑️!! This was the first season that I did not buy a new Giants football jersey because 1. Didn’t know who to buy, before week 1 had no faith in any player on the team that I don’t already own a jersey of theirs. 2. By the time I choose whose jersey I’ll buy (Nabers) I would be to embarrassed to wear it!
There were two times Mara got involved and told Schoen what he wanted. Schoen listened to him one time and disregarded him the other. Schoen was wrong both times.
Saquon would have been a mistake. He wouldn’t have had the year he’s had playing for the Giants. And the Jones contract meant making sacrifices. It would have been a better move career-wise for Schoen to resign Saquon. Mara would have been happy. And we’d have Saquon back. But it would have been worse for the team in the long run. That’s what annoys me. Schoen does the right thing for the team and then fans blame him for it. They even blame him for getting rid of Jones. People want a scapegoat for this situation but it’s a mess that’s been years in the making. It’s not something that’s going to be solved that easily, especially when the team couldn’t start the rebuild when it needed to happen. The thing is, if Schoen didn’t resign Jones and the team struggled under the new quarterback, the fans would have been calling for job for not sticking with Jones after 2022.
@@catsooeySchoen hasn't done anything right. Except for Malik Nabors his overall draft picks are mediocre at best over the years. There was nothing hard about that pick. You don't give away, not even get a trade for your best and most productive offensive player to your divisional rival for nothing. Giants got nothing in return. Zero......nada. Nobody does that.

@@Twiist585 Of course not! But after the Jones contract was done the die was cast. I’m not going to be too hard on them for the Jones contract. I didn’t agree with it. I didn’t like Jones as a draft pick. Schoen was planning on moving on as well. But after 2022 they were in a tough spot. I know they could have overruled Mara but I still hold the owner accountable for a big part of the Jones situation. If Schoen didn’t have a draft pick or replacement that he thought gave them a better chance then where they were at in 2022 then Jones might have been their best option at the time. If they struggled with a mediocre QB and got rid of Jones there would always be the question of “what if”. If Jones leaves and goes to a better team as a #2 and gets an opportunity to start - even if he’s just “ok”, the fans would be all over Schoen. The league had the Giants figured out halfway through 2022. They had a very limited bag of tricks. But Daboll thought he could try to push Jones and see if he could do more. It didn’t work out. But I don’t blame Daboll for not being able to get blood from a stone.
I Do a podcast based on Orlando City Soccer Club - we have always refused to try and get press passes casue we dont want to be forced to be a mouthpiece for the team - there are other pods that have credentials and man... its wild how differently we view things cause we can speak freely and they cant. good for you guys for telling them to shove it when they have only done a tiny favor for you.

Thats crazy they would call you over this. I respect the mara's a lot but the one consistent during this losing stretch is the owner. I have a very hard time believing that so many coaches and Gm's in a row have been this bad over the years. I am super slow in wanting to fire managers and gms and getting rid of most players that are not named Kadarius Toney. That being said, it makes absolutely no sense at all to keep these two. Schoen is good at saving money but horrible at using the money he saved. And on top of that, he has been even worse at the draft. He has proven he is a poor evaluator of talent. So why should we trust him to draft our QB? And now if you keep him, he will be making moves to save his job and not for the better of the team. Dabol has not been much better. I just can't get over him not having a backup kicker dressed earlier in the season. He seems afraid to take chances anymore and his play calling to me is subpar. He is supposed to be a QB guru but every QB he has had here has gotten worse. And then, what the hell was that uprising last year with Wink? I am no fan of Wink's because it seemed like he was planning a coo, but the fact that he thought he should and could get away with it reflects badly on Dabol to me. I like him a tad bit over Schoen but not enough to go through hiring a GM and not letting him pick his own coach again.
Wink shoulda popped him in the mouth. I thought getting rid of Toney was a bit premature even though he was as well. He could have at least returned punts because that's what we needed at the time.
Almost every “big” Giants content creator is openly connected to and in the pocket of NYG. One of the reasons I like you guys is because of the distance there. My guess is they will end up apologizing to you after this blows up in someone’s face.

You clarified why the Giants are where they are so, so well. I have felt for the longest time that ownership is the problem and you are the first media outlet, as far as I know, that has stated the obvious (IMO). You didn't say it directly, but you certainly laid out some obvious truths. The biggest problem we face is not only do we need to hire a good GM, but we also need to hire a GM who will ignore any input from John Mara, Chris Mara, and Tim McDonnell. Joe Schoen is obviously not that guy. The biggest reason to fire him is because he has not stood up to John Mara. You framed our problem perfectly by saying we have to hope that John Mara "lucks into" hiring a good GM. The fact that Pat Hanlon called you about your video is not only petty, but reveals a lot about the Giants organization. What kind of person performs poorly at their job and then complains and threatens when they are criticized? That's John Mara in a nutshell. I don't like saying that, but it is what it is. The billionaire gets an employee to threaten a podcaster who he views as a jerk. Maybe he's the nicest person in the world, but that's a pretty big character flaw. The only thing I wonder is how limited was Schoen by the cap situation Gettleman left us in? The franchise really did need a full reset and someone had to fall on the sword rather than continue to try and find guys to win now. So I wonder if that’s why we’re dependent on rookies rather than successful veterans. I don’t think it changes anything around Schoen given the lack of success from the draft, but I also think there’s so much luck that goes into it regardless of how much you scout players. So we could look back that Schoen did the dirty work to find the $s and our next GM ends up thriving.

Just wanted to take a minute to share my support for you guys and this channel. I appreciate you sharing what you did. It’s crazy to me that they’d want to suppress your perspective. You guys are one of the best Giants news channels out there because you are fans sharing heartfelt, educated, and logical arguments about all elements of the team. You don’t do gimmicky stuff, you want the team to win, and you always take a thoughtful approach. Just keep going guys. Consider this a win; the organization is listening, you’re making good enough points to have their attention, and they need to understand you’re representing a fair, fan perspective. The Giants should take a page from your book. As much as I’d like to, I can’t really watch a lot of content direct from the Giants because it’s so bias and there’s so much covering up the reality. I understand why they have to, but I want the truth about the team, not the fluff. I empathize with the organization, it’s a hard time, but they need to come off you guys. It’s a classless move on their part. Sad to hear about this. Just know you have the support of a lot of fans.

I agree with Giants management… the timing of Draft evaluation is ill advised.
Note I don’t disagree with most of current evaluation… I do disagree and think that it is way early to judge and give Schoen a grade.
The Giants have been rebuilding the player personnel draft analysts department and the 2024 draft is proof they are on the right path and anyone can see the improvement from the first and second draft.
Also note: Evan Neal not panning out is not on Schoen alone. He was in the building for like 1 month and picked this guy with Gentlemen personal. Also, I remember talking Giants and most pundits thought it was a great pick .
Everybody in Giants Land missed on this guy so let’s not bump it on just 1 guy Schoen!
I admittedly don’t support this channel as well as I should. I’m a father of 3 with one being a soon to be 2 year old and I work nights and I am always tired and at times forget to like your videos and don’t have the extra funds to contribute to the channel but, with all that being said this is by far the best New York Giants channel out there not only because of how well spoken you guys are or how knowledgeable you both are (because the official Giants channel has a lot of smart guys on there too) but, first and foremost it’s the full transparency you guys provide to your fan base. There are no punches held back. You guys preach on everything that we see every Sunday and then some. And don’t act like we don’t see how bad we really are. Unlike the official Giants channel where they quite often refrain from speaking on things that they’re not allowed to speak of presumably of out of fear getting fired themselves and speaking for all Giants fans out there we appreciate everything that you guys do.

This just proves how bad of an organization the Giants really are and your video was completely right, Schoen has to go. Your video perfectly explains how bad he’s missed in the draft. And the plane is right: everyone needs to be fired. Nothing personal. They just did not do their job.

I’ve been a Giants fan my whole life, and this is the closest I’ve ever been to completely abandoning the team. The fact that they, in their current unbelievably terrible situation, focus their energy on trying to silence you guys for simply speaking facts about the team is crazy.

I don't watch you guys on a regular but I have a lot of respect for you guys. The reason why is because many people would've folded with a call like that and instead you stood your ground and then put it out there what happened. Also, from what I have seen you guys have been fairly consistent. Not trying to call out others but there is one creator group that just floods UA-cam and flip flops, not from video to video but instead flip flops during the video.

Been listening to Talkin Giants since 2022 and what I love most is how transparent you guys are compared to other podcast that I would listen to. The first 10 minutes of this video helps me understand why the opinions of former players who are now analyst or guest on podcast really don’t matter 😂😂. They have to be soft spoken to avoid getting one of those phone calls. You guys call it how it is. We’re 🗑️!! This was the first season that I did not buy a new Giants football jersey because 1. Didn’t know who to buy, before week 1 had no faith in any player on the team that I don’t already own a jersey of theirs. 2. By the time I choose whose jersey I’ll buy (Nabers) I would be to embarrassed to wear it!

This reveals a lot about the Giants priorities and explains why they are where they are in the standings.
There were two times Mara got involved and told Schoen what he wanted. Schoen listened to him one time and disregarded him the other. Schoen was wrong both times.
Saquon would have been a mistake. He wouldn’t have had the year he’s had playing for the Giants. And the Jones contract meant making sacrifices. It would have been a better move career-wise for Schoen to resign Saquon. Mara would have been happy. And we’d have Saquon back. But it would have been worse for the team in the long run. That’s what annoys me. Schoen does the right thing for the team and then fans blame him for it. They even blame him for getting rid of Jones. People want a scapegoat for this situation but it’s a mess that’s been years in the making. It’s not something that’s going to be solved that easily, especially when the team couldn’t start the rebuild when it needed to happen. The thing is, if Schoen didn’t resign Jones and the team struggled under the new quarterback, the fans would have been calling for job for not sticking with Jones after 2022.
@@catsooeySchoen hasn't done anything right. Except for Malik Nabors his overall draft picks are mediocre at best over the years. There was nothing hard about that pick. You don't give away, not even get a trade for your best and most productive offensive player to your divisional rival for nothing. Giants got nothing in return. Zero......nada. Nobody does that.

@@Twiist585 Of course not! But after the Jones contract was done the die was cast. I’m not going to be too hard on them for the Jones contract. I didn’t agree with it. I didn’t like Jones as a draft pick. Schoen was planning on moving on as well. But after 2022 they were in a tough spot. I know they could have overruled Mara but I still hold the owner accountable for a big part of the Jones situation. If Schoen didn’t have a draft pick or replacement that he thought gave them a better chance then where they were at in 2022 then Jones might have been their best option at the time. If they struggled with a mediocre QB and got rid of Jones there would always be the question of “what if”. If Jones leaves and goes to a better team as a #2 and gets an opportunity to start - even if he’s just “ok”, the fans would be all over Schoen. The league had the Giants figured out halfway through 2022. They had a very limited bag of tricks. But Daboll thought he could try to push Jones and see if he could do more. It didn’t work out. But I don’t blame Daboll for not being able to get blood from a stone.

Thats crazy they would call you over this. I respect the mara's a lot but the one consistent during this losing stretch is the owner. I have a very hard time believing that so many coaches and Gm's in a row have been this bad over the years.
I am super slow in wanting to fire managers and gms and getting rid of most players that are not named Kadarius Toney. That being said, it makes absolutely no sense at all to keep these two. Schoen is good at saving money but horrible at using the money he saved. And on top of that, he has been even worse at the draft. He has proven he is a poor evaluator of talent. So why should we trust him to draft our QB? And now if you keep him, he will be making moves to save his job and not for the better of the team.
Dabol has not been much better. I just can't get over him not having a backup kicker dressed earlier in the season. He seems afraid to take chances anymore and his play calling to me is subpar. He is supposed to be a QB guru but every QB he has had here has gotten worse. And then, what the hell was that uprising last year with Wink? I am no fan of Wink's because it seemed like he was planning a coo, but the fact that he thought he should and could get away with it reflects badly on Dabol to me. I like him a tad bit over Schoen but not enough to go through hiring a GM and not letting him pick his own coach again.
Wink shoulda popped him in the mouth. I thought getting rid of Toney was a bit premature even though he was as well. He could have at least returned punts because that's what we needed at the time.

Thank you guys so, so much for this podcast. It is so honest and revealing. Fans can wonder and speculate why their team is not good. They can complain about one thing or another. You clarified why the Giants are where they are so, so well.
I have felt for the longest time that ownership is the problem and you are the first media outlet, as far as I know, that has stated the obvious (IMO). You didn't say it directly, but you certainly laid out some obvious truths.
The biggest problem we face is not only do we need to hire a good GM, but we also need to hire a GM who will ignore any input from John Mara, Chris Mara, and Tim McDonnell. Joe Schoen is obviously not that guy. The biggest reason to fire him is because he has not stood up to John Mara. You framed our problem perfectly by saying we have to hope that John Mara "lucks into" hiring a good GM.
The fact that Pat Hanlon called you about your video is not only petty, but reveals a lot about the Giants organization. What kind of person performs poorly at their job and then complains and threatens when they are criticized? That's John Mara in a nutshell. I don't like saying that, but it is what it is. The billionaire gets an employee to threaten a podcaster who he views as a jerk. Maybe he's the nicest person in the world, but that's a pretty big character flaw.

The only thing I wonder is how limited was Schoen by the cap situation Gettleman left us in? The franchise really did need a full reset and someone had to fall on the sword rather than continue to try and find guys to win now. So I wonder if that’s why we’re dependent on rookies rather than successful veterans.
I don’t think it changes anything around Schoen given the lack of success from the draft, but I also think there’s so much luck that goes into it regardless of how much you scout players. So we could look back that Schoen did the dirty work to find the $s and our next GM ends up thriving.

40 years of being a Giants fan. I stopped watching the games but I watch every Talkin Giants video. Have had a lot of respect for the organization for a long time but have less now. Thought that video was really well done.

Any exposure, especially as Bobby said happens in the preseason before they suck, can only help market this team that can't market itself by being competitive. This is just a prime example of a team wrecked all the way up to the top.

I spoke to someone inside the organization....very close to the ups. He said "Schoen and Daboll are staying put". ...they will NOT be fired.
