A new power has risen. I have felt it. The resolve of fanboys everywhere joined together but they aren’t just fanboys anymore they are fanboys with power and that puts a smile on my face.
Sounds like the ending feels like Return of the King.
It really IS Snyder’s DC meets Lord of the Rings.

So, I saw Batman V Superman has the Ultimate Edition on HBO Max, so since I'm not going to get to see this until the 18th, I book marked Man of Steel and Batman V Superman to get ready between now and then. Basically refresh my memory on those. Thank you for the heads up on the connection of those, Cody.
Ultimate edition is great, makes bvs make more sense and the pacing is better despite it being a longer movie than the theatrical
The original cut was a mess! Hopefully this gets the DCEU back on track

The DCEU has gotten back on track since 2018's Aquaman. However, this is a big step forward, I think and hope.
No the snyder cut is non cannon. That's the only dc und warner agreed to release this

@@dalestrunk1749 yeah but still they've got very exciting films coming in the future plus as others have said the justice league directors cut is a one off that won't lead anywhere so it really shouldn't effect any future DC films
I’m a bit worried with the 4 hr runtime mostly because I always am mixed on 3 hr epic films. Great review Cody, very honest thoughts

I didn't like that The Joker wasn't in it much, but I am happy to see what comes with Deathstroke
I'm reminded of Ryan Gosling's line from the end of The Nice Guys: "Sometimes, you just win." I imagine Zack's feeling that about now.
Obviously, haven't seen it yet but unless it's "Suicide Squad/Birds of Prey" level, it's going to be a vast improvement over the pile of shit that was the theatrical cut. Can't wait. Great review, Cody!

I just watched American werewolf in London last night, nice shirt, way ahead of its time.
Nice review. I definitely think he had the benefit of finding out what people liked and didn't like about the original release when he was adding the new stuff. Still I liked the additional footage. Way better than the theatrical version
Cyborg got his arch realized pretty well. Flash too but it didn't feel as in depth as cyborg.

The epilogue was just a fan bonus to show what was going to happen and to give batsmen that talk with joker. Snyder was going to make two more justice league movies…movie 4 was going to be darkseid shows up and wrecks everything…movie 5 was going to be the justice league beating darkseid. We will never see the 5 movie arc now, so I’m glad he threw the kitchen sink at fans to give us everything. After watching all the directors cuts of Snyder’s trilogy, I appreciate them much more. One just has to look at them as not what you were expecting…this is the “Snyder verse” and you go with it or don’t.

I'm personally mixed on Snyders dcu movies, Really liked man of steel, found bvs to be very messy( even the ultimate cut), hated Eisenbergs Lex, which is too bad because he could have been great. This movie was much better than the theatrical, but could have easily been 3 hours. I'd put it just under Man of steel on my list.

Compare Ray Fisher’s Cyborg to The Cyborg on Doom Patrol series which is also on HBO Max. I like the Doom Patrol Cyborg more. There is two seasons to that show and I love it. Doom Patrol is like DC version of a X-men like show. Timothy Dalton plays the Xavier lite character and Brendan Fraser plays Robotman which is awesome he is great in the series. The other members are Negative Man, Crazy Jane who is a superhero with multiple personalities and Elastic Girl who doesn’t have total control with stretching powers. The villain is played by Alan Tudyk
Hopefully this cut of Justice League will be released on DVD very soon.
I love how you are fair about Ray Fisher. He is just not a great actor. It’s not being RACIST. it’s not being SEXIST It’s being HONEST!! He is not a good actor. That’s not only a few ppl saying that- it’s the general consensus. No matter how he wants to spin it. He didn’t have the charisma or appeal of Gal or Ben or aquaman. He has to accept that.
My biggest gripe with both the theatrical cut of the Justice League and the Zach Snyder cut is that there is no version of Green Lantern anywhere to be seen. I think there was an Easter egg or something in the Zack Snyder version, but that's it. I mean for people that know the comics the original Justice League is Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, The Flash, and Green Lantern. Cyborg's inclusion in the group really make no sense for the initial story of the first interpretation of the Justice League. That, I think, is one of the main reasons why The Avengers was so much more successful than the Justice League. Marvel had the foresight to add in additional characters to the Avengers roster ONLY after the first film. It's very obvious that Warner Brothers and DC did not do that and now the DCEU is over. I'm kind of sad that it has to come for this because I really don't want retread familiar ground just because a film studio decides to walk into a glass door when they have another studio to look towards as a perfect example in Marvel
On the whole Batman fighting and interacting with aliens thing you don't really like and these characters not working well as a team i was wondering if you've seen the Justice League animated show? I feel that show and universe nails these aspects. Still the best version of the DC universe.

I loved this movie! Absolutely love it. Been a massive DC and justice league fan since I was conceived and man did this deliver the goods.
5 stars for me, loved it on every level. I do agree with you on the epilogue portion, didn't need that, the story already a perfect ending for me and we got nothing of necessity in the epilogue.... plus I never want to see Jared Leto as any type of Joker persona ever again as long as I exist.... so for me I just turn it off after the last chapter, and have a near perfect viewing experience.... a couple of minor issues for me, but nothing worth a damn.

What do I think of it? I don't know, all I have to go on is your review for now. I'm basically just glad it got made, regardless of how good or bad it turns out to be though.
Man, what if we truly do get a Justice League pt2 though? Would be awesome to see the follow up story connections that were planted in this one, and Zack definitely had storyboards that were updated relating to a possible sequel.
If they're releasing this on physical media, I'm definitely getting. Awesome review as always.

So we aren't going to talk about the 1:1 aspect ratio, I understand why he did it, but I would have preferred the traditional 4:3 ratio. Great review as always. Also that final scene with Jared Leto, pure glory.

Too funny about the mention about going bk to 2017, I don't remember much about that time in my life. I was a lil messed up. I actually have only seen Aquaman once, and none of the other ones except MOS and Bvs. I got hbo max now gotta catch up. I'm praying hbo max grabs another movie or something from ZS. I feel like haters need to remember. If zack snider was able to stay on the film originally and finish his work for theatre's.... he wouldn't have made it 4 hours. It would have been made for theatrical release. This is a version where he was able to do as much as he wanted and he did so much because he probably isn't going to continue. I HOPE HE DOES THOUGH
This review is so spot on Cody! I feel exactly the same way about everything you said. I liked this so much more than 2017 joss whedon version but I don't exactly think it's the masterpiece many are saying it is. Glad it exists though.

As someone who who loved Man of Steel but disliked Batman v Superman (both cuts), I had my reservations about this film. However, your review has really sold me on giving it a shot, Cody. I just hope it's more respectful of the source material than BvS was.
I absolutely loved it, better than the theatrical (which I didn't hate)and prey for the sequel
One last comment lol but I would totally be down for a follow up video after the film debuts on HBOMAX about what things from this film you would like to see continued in the Dceu going into the fututre.

Can't freaking wait to buy this on dvd and throw the other version away. Ended watching the first half on a Saturday and then the next Saturday night. So glad this movie came out hopefully they'll support and continue this universe that follows this

Yeah, there was supposed to be three Justice League movies, not just one.
So much more superior than the theatrical cut. I didn’t have the entire who the F is this since they had character development! Duh WB! Cyborg makes so much more sense now unlike the theatrical version. Flash was redeemed just enough for me. But holy hell, knowing WW84 now....how can you save that franchise? I do agree about the epilogue being unnecessary, since we aren’t going to see any of that come to fruition. Still a fun watch though!
ZAC SNYDER WE NEED YOU for "JUSTICE LEAGUE CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTH" or whatever it is called! Zac 3-4 hour version of infinite earth Justice League. damn it they closed it down right? At least these justice league characters. :D

I like the PG-13 cut of Justice League, but was disappointed that multiple scenes used in the trailers and television spots were either reshot or excised altogether. I want to see Zack Snyder's Justice League, but I also want to wait until Zack Snyder's Justice League: Justice Is Gray is released on home video, either separately or with the colour version ala Logan and Mad Max: Fury Road.

Will Superman and the flash going to race Like in the 2017 version because I want to see them race.
I'm glad we are finally getting this movie, I felt Josh was brought in to ruin and steak zack story and help disney finish infinity war, seems allot like zack story arc
Never bothered to watch the theatrical version in theaters or at home. I’ve seen about the second half of that movie. Seeing 15 seconds of it from when it leaked and the knowledge of the new things that he had added, I have just a little more “I wanna watch it” feeling. I hope it can help build back up the DCEU we would’ve gotten after it was ruined with BVS then JL
Personally I didnt hate the theatrical cut just found it meh with bad cgi. It clearly was going for something totally different then a Snyder film. It felt like old school Dc Super friends for better or worse. But the studio promised us Snyders vision so I wanted Snyders vision. Any way im very happy this came out an according to Snyder he wants to help David Ayer get his Suicide Squad cut out next so I say bring it all on.I think your review was fair in terms of Cyborg I have seen other ctritics say hes good so its interesting to me you didnt get into him. I will say Cyborg has never been my favorite so I gell with him being just kinda ok. With Flash I think I need to wait an see how hes developed in a solo film to get more idea of where hes coming from.I do think if this does well we will get some kinda continuation. Its getting good to descent critic reviews an should do well so I can see least spin off.
The flash/Barry Allen is a "funny character"......BUT that's not all he is. When it's time to be serious he's serious. He's actually a complex character with a lot on his shoulders. Rebirth does a great job with showing the layers and so does the show to be honest. I don't want my flash to be a pg deadpool.
His humor isnt really Deadpool hes written as an awkward nerdy fanboy hanging out with his heroes. It works here and there.
@@CodyLeachYT when I say deadpool I just meant someone cracking jokes all the time. Works for some not with others. Hopefully this flash will get more mature. Once the fanboy runs it's course and he is the flash longer.

There doesn't seem to be a way to conclude this as a trilogy when the Justice League was supposed to be a trilogy with it all leading up to a battle with Darkseid.
I dont think it was ever intended to be a conclusion but it does have thematic and story beats that make it a 3-movie arc for Superman

They will keep Cyborg because he is part of the JL they'll just get another actor to play Victor Stone.
