    Thanks for the review. I am curious about the award aspect. Their “OS” is a fork of klipper with no acknowledgment. When users found back door access to give more control and prove the klipper aspect, they locked it down. Qidi’s new printers at least use klipper and give them their credit. It’s standard with their config and users have full control. They even stopped selling or provided a refund options for a design flaw. Creality just keeps sending parts out and are on v4 of the extruder. This review also does not touch about Creality cloud which is one of their selling points. Where premium is a fee. I am glad for the new round of machines that are not i3 clones and we are shifting towards a new generation of cost affordable options that are faster and are not kits, however I feel this model was rushed. Much like the kingroon version. What happens when Creality loses interest for the next flagship and you can’t update an already outdated klipper it shipped with? Vorons are not for everyone and that’s where Bambu shined. It was a plug and play option. Software updates have been consistent, customer service has been in the middle and now you can pretty much buy any part of it at a reasonable price. Time will tell.

    Excellent review again.
    Not long ago I purchased an Ender3 V2 and upgraded it part by part to an Ender 3 Pro S1 with ABL. I added a Sonic Pad.
    In the end I did spent more than this 600$ printer.
    Incredible how fast evolution is since bambuLabs shook the world.
    Glad that Crealety picked up the signal. Others have to follow soon.
    Competition is back.

    Don't understand why you didn't address the severe ringing seen in many of your test prints? I have the same problem on most all of my prints and so do many others. The input shaping doesn't appear to be effective at all at canceling these out. Very noticeable on the Alpaca test print you showed.

    Yes it's fast, yes it's loud, yes it's a cheap Bambu knock off, yes it will break, yes you will need to mod it to get it to work right. After my experience with Creality and the E5Plus I wouldn't buy anything from Creality again. There's already issues with the extruder on this machine. No to anything Creality. I'll stick with my Bambu X1Cs with AMS. I want to print, not fix my printer. Love the Channel

      @@sofuzzywuzzy there are too much mods for E3. But actually you need to change bed springs, fix bed bolts with nuts, buy a PEI sheet and install any direct extruder you want, even most simple 10cm short bowden extruder will work. I cant wait to see the Bamboo Lab return serve to the K1 Max and Prusa's XL, I think this will be revealed within a month or so, If it is a toolchanger then I shall be purchasing one, I have been holding out on the X1C as I am not happy with all the filament wastage and I wouldnt buy a Creality machine as they always have faults, previously I have bought Creality printers knowing that I would have to upgrade and fix the printer, however, If I am spending above £1000 I at least expect the printer to be able to print without encountering errors.

    another excellent review.
    I did notice that I thought i saw some ringing issues that i don;t think you addressed. I think this printer is still having some teething issues. It remains to be seen if these can be fixed with firmware, or possibly mods, but it is great that it can use stock klipper and other slicers, as crealities slicer seems to be somewhat subpar. I wonder if it will work with Orca? I think it can, but i can't remember from my orca setup screen, though i believe it give you the option to make a custom profile.
    The enclosure is great, but the p1p is fairly easy to enclose cheaply. That and the slightly larger build volume influenced my decision to go with the p1p, along with some fairly poor early reviews. The option to add the AMS was also on my mind, though i don't multi-print much, and have a dual-head printer already.
    I'm glad to see the Creality is making strides after a shaky start, and the more open-source route they have taken is definitely encouraging. What I'm really looking forward to is the K1 Max, which I have great hopes for. I might have gone with that if it had come out, but launch appears to be delayed.

It’s been about a week now since I received mine and I have been printing nonstop ever since. The timing was right the promotional sale offered two free spools of the HP-Ultra PLA filament with the purchase of the K1 so I have been able to take advantage of the high-speed printing.
    The K1 has been putting out some quality prints without any problems so far, I like the touch screen and also the ability to print locally rather than through the Creality cloud. Creality Print has been adequate, although it would be nice when it gets opened up.

    Had my two weeks and have to send it back, I just don't have the patience, small hands and my eyes are not as young to
    tweak those tools. It was good at first, I want to take in the backyard and target practice but since I bought it on amazon
    I still have the 30 day window, thank god. I am going to encourage them to remove the item.

    Great review! I wait for your reviews to come out before I purchase any printers. The one thing I wish you had commented on is the ghosting/ringing seen in some of the prints.

    It my understanding that switching nozzles is still difficult and uses the “old” structure of hot end/heat bridge/radiator with tube that still runs the risk of leakage?
    And it’s still t fun to switch nozzles.

    I think Hyperflow is just a marketing gimmick. At 9:55 the temp is 230c. Hence a pla high flow temp, which is what we should then look for in other brands of pla, ie the high flow temp. Imo. Laurie NZ.😊😊

    One very notable fact of this particular printer: Despite it's solid design, it is a Klipper printer in violation of Klipper's GPLv3 license... and buying it is supporting that. Kevin works very hard on his open source firmware, and Creality is using that firmware without distributing it's source, as it is legally obligated to do.

    Dang, I wanted this printer, and I was holding off, because I didn't like the last review I saw, but your review made up my mind, I wanted something click and go, and as much as I absolutely love my Voron, I'm tired of messing with it constantly. I may have to sell it off and buy this one.

    The K1 I ordered from Best Buy for $350 is arriving today. Do you still stand by your original recommendation after all the reported fixes often required? I’m new to 3D printing and nervous as this is my first printer. Wondering if I should just return it and get an A1 Mini for the “just works” factor though I’m not keen on the even smaller build volume. Thank you for the thorough, review as usual.

    Thanks for the interesting and informative reviews. Special thanks for the clear speech, which is easy to follow, even if English is not the native language.
    A little question: peek, poly-etheretherketone, is an expensive engineering plastic. It is available as filament, but requires a 400C print head, can one be fitted to a 'regular' printer.

    • @AuroraTech
      @AuroraTech  Рік тому

      I don't think PEEK filament and a hobbyist machine belong in the same category, considering that 1kg of PEEK costs the same or even more than the price of this printer.

    Same feedback as last time, max flow test (like the OrcaSlicer one), and highest acceleration that doesn't shake the table would help. The printer shows ghosting in some of the prints as tested.

    Good review and it makes sense.
    BUT
    The P1P is just missing too much, like the enclosure.
    The price reduction makes sense even without the K1.
    What about the K1 Max? Will $100 cover the advantages that the C1Carbon has over the K1 print volume?
    This is an interesting apples-and-oranges comparison problem, to be sure.
    I noticed that you did not suffer the extruder switch problem as so many others have had.
    In the end, it is an alternative, rather than a direct competitor, more like hamburgers vs pizza rather than pizza brand 1 and pizza brand 2.
    Is the goal to remove your hunger in a tasty manner, or do you want pizza, the best pizza?

    • @AuroraTech
      @AuroraTech  Рік тому +1

      I am fine with the extruder, I have no complain with the switch, it works just fine with all materials I have tested. The only thing I don't like is the plastic (or POM) gears instead of all-metal ones.

    • @buzzbbird
      @buzzbbird Рік тому

      @@AuroraTech POM is strong and nearly friction-free. Stel gears may, in the very long run, outlast POM, but they need lubrication and adjustment more often.

    Excellent review. I had been considering grabbing one of the Bambu labs machines come tax time this year, but this looks like it might be worth sticking to Creality and getting the K1 Max model instead. That way I can keep the 300mm cube of my current machine, but get the benefits of these newer machines. Have to wait a bit longer and see how that one reviews as it has a few other features on it's page that makes it look like just what I'd want in an upgrade.
