- This is a quick video from start to finish on the installation process of a SwampFox Sentinel red dot on a HellCat by Springfield. A torque screwdriver and a torx t10 bit will be all you need to add this to your firearm. The fit of the Sentinel to the slide is very nice, the window is big enough to find the dot quickly. Next up is range time to sight it in and test fire on targets.
Nice to see someone that has machinist knowledge and or background, slow is fast, It's hard to explain to someone that if you walk through a project in your head first you can save yourself a lot of time.
I wish I could say, "That makes things go planned" but sometimes if it can go wrong it will. All good, I have a video where I broke a screw in the slide of a Glock G19, and then the ensuing work to make it right. Thanks for watching
I ordered a new Swampfox Sentinel (Green ) Shake N Wake Manual Brightness today I purchased my Son JB A used Hell Cat and a Swampfox Sentinel Red He really can hit the distant target at 25 meters. I have had my Hellcat for about two years now and it's my favorite cant wait to Zero my Sentinel and see how well it shoots with the new sight installed. Thanks for the Review and walk thru of the mounting of the SwampFox Sentinel to the Springfield Armory Hell Cat.
Glad to pass on a little info to a fellow shooter. I've added 2 more SwampFox red dots to my line since this video. I believe they are a good company with very good products. Thanks for watching and commenting. I use an Alien Gear "CLOAK" OWB holster as my daily carry, I'm faster with Appendix, but my work is lots of squatting and bending and that makes it uncomfortable.
Hellcat user with Swampfox, and a Dillon reloader? Subscribed!
Thanks for watching and subscribing. The Hellcat is a great pistol.
@@PaPaDsRangeTimeWatts I also have a swmpfox sentinel do i need to put the dot on the center of the window?
@@jesseawiten8480 Good Afternoon, I'm not sure of what you are asking. When sighting in, I use a benchrest at 15 yards. I want the bullet impact to be the exact same spot as where the dot was when the trigger was pulled. Does this answer your question? Thanks for watching
@@PaPaDsRangeTimeWatts thanks
Great video. I would only add that the tool provided by SwampFox gave me a scare. I needed to use a handled Torx driver to get a positive bite to back the factory screws out.
SwampFox has a "screw Kit" with many sizes of screws that maybe needed. about $20, its worth it. Thanks for watching
The waterproof pad is too large for my Hellcat. Can I install without it?
Sorry for the delay, working a turn around, I think its best to have it on the optic, Are you running the Sentinel? I just looked over mine and it is slightly smaller than the red dot
@@PaPaDsRangeTimeWatts Yes sir it’s the sentinel. The gasket was a bit larger and would not line up with the holes. I just installed it without it since I don’t plan on shorting it in the rain. Lol. Time will tell. Thanks for getting back to me.
Um... I'm pretty sure that the auto adjust Sentinel is not 'shake and awake'. I just ordered one from the manufacturer website, I decided the 'always on auto' was better than the manual 'shake and awake', unless their website is wrong...
You are Correct, I have 4 of these in different models, just got a little confused on the model I was speaking of. Thanks for the feed back, I don't want to give wrong info. I have had much success with these Red Dots.
I need to get one of those small torque drivers. Is that the Wheeler?
Yes, A Wheeler, very easy to use.
@@PaPaDsRangeTimeWatts Thank you sir! I am gonna order tomorrow then!
With the waterproof cover can you still co witness with the iron sights?
Yes, its a very thin shim and does not change the co witness. I'm not a fan of having to remove the red dot to replace the battery, but it should last for years before I have to address that. Thanks for watching.
@@PaPaDsRangeTimeWatts thanks for responding
I just installed mine with the use of purple (222) Loctite, but I'm worried the screws might come lose. I didn't soak the screws, as recommended by Brownell's, but I did wipe them down with an alcohol cleaning pad. Am I good to go, or should I reapply?
I think you are good, I have an instructor I train with who uses finger nail polish and has no problems. I would check the torque after a couple range sets to have price of mind. Thanks for watching
@@PaPaDsRangeTimeWatts Much appreciated, and thanks for the video - very helpful in helping me decide on an optic, can't wait to give it some range time! Have a great day!
my swampfox battery lasted 7 months (kept it on setting 7 or 8)... anyone else have some data on that? i was very disappointed.
I've had mine only a few months, but it's going strong. I contacted Swampfox about a concern and they offered a warranty repair or replacement, if I did have a problem. The 100% warranty is a real deal. Reach out to them for this.
I swear I only got 5 months on maybe a medium setting but it could’ve been the brand of battery I used also as I bought bulk off ebay
I don’t know about you but on a higher setting mine gets a big blurry circle that washes out the site picture
@@SUGARAYK I have the auto brightness model. I'm 5 months in and the battery is still strong. I just received a Liberty model for a Glock 19, more to come on that one. SwampFox customer service has good reviews, the wash out should be checked out. Let me know what they say.
