PaPa D’s Range Time Watts
United States
Приєднався 13 лют 2020
Hello, I'm PaPa D as my grandkids call me. I'm an NRA Instructor, Husband, and Christian. I welcome people to view my channel to see where I am in my daily pursuit on being the best I can be. I fall short most days, The videos give me a way to review my "areas for improvement" and what I need to work on.
If I have a good range set, I will add speed, movement, positions and other challenges to Push myself. I understand the real world is not static, stand and shoot, hit your target and get your ribbon. I work on controlling my breathing, heart rate, nerves, as well as increasing speed and accuracy.

@@Zane-h5f I’m pleased with my progress. Thanks for watching

@@Gunsandfun1961 2025 is my retirement year. 7 more working day, 1/30/25 is my last day of employment. I’m very excited to start this new journey. Thanks for watching
@PaPaDsRangeTimeWatts Good for you 👍

👍 nice
@@angelovillasenor6325 thanks for watching, this is my favorite place to be
I see you use a tarp to collect brass. Is that to keep your range clean or are you a reloader?
@@Rusty_ok I reload, but it also keeps it out of the lawn mower blades. Harbor freight has the black mesh tarps on sale from time to time. The 10 x 12 is the size I like.
Good video!
@@benjaminmayfield6954 thanks for watching, enjoying my 2A rights.
Use CCI mini mag and keep them loaded for a while to stretch the springs. There’s a lot of people who have had no issues. But you can’t run shitty ammo
@@thetattooedguy1413 thanks for the comment and thanks for watching
That MNP shield looks stupid with that extra short slide I just don't like the appearance of it I'll stick with my G 36
@@josephpepe2607 the ability to conceal the shorter slide offsets the looks. Plus it runs every type of ammo, my g36 is finicky on ammo. Thanks for watching
Nice shooting on 3 different style ...

Thanks for watching, good times on the range!
Incrediblely jelious of that range!

Applying the 21-foot rule and you have been stabbed to death 54 times by the time of your first malfunction
@@bobechs7905 I understand, stabbed and still fighting. The 21’ rule I teach is an awareness of personal boundaries, I’m not sure of your 21’ and 54 stabbings. My training is to challenge myself in different positions so I have confidence on getting shots on target. Thanks for watching
Isn't there a specific order for the Texas star so that it doesn't freak out on ya?
@@CallsignCoalition yes, BUT I have weights and an activator plate to drive it down. I continue to challenge myself. Normally the highest plate first to reduce movement. Thanks for watching
@ that makes sense!
Credit to you for sharing with us how difficult it can be. The usual clips we see from other channels is after hours and hours of filming and editing no doubt.
@@MC-dw5or thanks for watching, I’m a where I am today shooter. Yes, I try to be realistic on my progress and training. Some days are better than others.
Nice job...a couple of gun stutters but you hung tough...
@@Gunsandfun1961 thanks for watching, light primer strike and then I lost my red dot. Battery cap worked loose, all tight now, ready to roll. GOOD TIMES!!
Huh, that was really impressive but the malfunction was interesting. I don’t do drills like that myself, so is the issue because of the angle of the pistol as it was fired? The magazine not wanting to feed at an odd angle?
@@last-royal7452 first tap rack was a light primer strike, my reloads- I probably didn’t seat the primer correctly, the second - my red dot went away, battery cap was loose. Overall I was pleased. The Canik runs great at all angles. Thanks for watching
We don’t have that many steel targets maybe you could come up with a drill that use some steel and incorporates some movement.
@@Rusty_ok I will work on that. Moving is hard to video from a tripod, wide angle does not catch a view of the hits. I will work on a hat GoPro and see how it looks. Thanks for watching.
Excellent...
@@Gunsandfun1961 thanks for watching, good times on the backyard range
Very difficult to make that happen on my range. Simunition training is valuable, this is what I can do Thanks for watching
Now try it where the targets shoot back!
Thanks, I was actually thinking about this comparison. So glad you did this
@@RudyardG thanks for watching, I have grown to love the EMP over the last year.
I have more guns than I need or will ever have a use for. I am flipping a coin on the 3” or the 4”. Then a Glock 45. Probably will not carry either one much. I have a issued duty G17 and off duty usually carry the 43x
@@sgtgrantham my gun “ need” is like my wife’s shoe collection, there MIGHT be a time, in the distant future, where it fits CCW attire. Thanks for Watching
That ain’t 15 yards 10 yards tops
@@KP-Pro2A I’m offering you an open invite to come step it off. South Louisiana, hit me up if you are anywhere close. It is 45’.
@ I’m nowhere near there- pull a tape out to the same spot. It doesn’t look anywhere near 15 yds
The micro is harder to shoot, but you did well ...
Thanks for watching, Definitely Harder, I kept pulling off during the trigger press.
Good drills thanks for posting.
US Law Shield is the biggest piece of trash company.
Nicely done.
We ran a transition drill yesterday where we shot steel then 2 on paper the steel then 2 on paper and alternated back forth for a total of 12 rounds. We used a plate rack and set the paper targets up to the left, right, closer, and farther away to force kind of a gas pedal brake pedal and distance transition. And because it was Halloween we used white trash bags over a cardboard target as ghosts, and a figures cut from felt in the shape of a witch, vampires, and skeletons bought at the dollar store.
@@Rusty_ok I like the “spooky” theme. Thinking out side of the box to create challenges makes training interesting. Thanks for sharing drill and thanks for watching
what's the grouping like?
It’s been a while since I did this video, but the red plates are 6” at 15 yards. Normally I work with combat accuracy of an 8” group. Thanks for watching.
Three of the guys that shoot with us have Caniks and they are very competitive with the group. Great guns for the cost. We shoot every Thursday morning at a private club in Oklahoma.
@@Rusty_ok ok has some great competitions there. I would love to shoot the Iron Man 3 gun one day. Impressed with my Caniks. Thanks for watching
