I'm not going to give the family a hard time, but I think a lot of people just don't realize how hard work it is raising a young puppy. It's like raising a child, but with 10 years all smushed into a year. There will be poo. There will be talking back. There will be nibbles in places you don't want nibbles. There will be babysitting and reorganizing your life around the puppy. There will be crazy zoomies and eventually play dates. They are not arm ornaments :). And they have an insane amount of energy! But it's so worth the effort.
To your point, which is why a lot of people struggle with large breed work dogs(Pyrenees, St. Bernards, Newfies). They are cute on youtube videos but a lot of work in reality. Also, you really need the physical space to accomodate them. Their not stuffed animals!
Aww thanks BusyBeTee. We are so thankful for the opportunity to work with so many wonderful families. Some times this happens but they made the right decision even though it was a very hard one to make. Sadie has been so much fun to work with.
@@DoodlesofNC I would much rather someone bring a puppy back to me rather than just feel "stuck' with it. I wouldn't want them to keep a puppy that either the puppy or them were not well-suited to each other.
Yes she’s a good breeder , and that person was responsible but there are millions out there that are not , not including average families having litters upon litters , unfortunately, they will not all have the same outcome!, Feel it’s about being responsible!, people and breeders are making babies over and over again , and a lot end up, abused and abandoned , when we have so many Pets in Shelters begging for a chance for a life and a forever home , a lot get euthanized every min of every day , including kittens and puppies , because we have an over abundance in this world !, I feel we need to encourage people to get their PETS FIXED! It’s super cheap , cheaper than having tons of babies !, let’s help , not add to this severe atrocity . Save pets lives !, ♥️🙏🏾
I get cats and puppies young , 4 weeks at some cats , and dogs asap. Best to raise them up !!! If you have the time . Potty train for me is old fashion . Yes pads, instead of news paper ! But watch them , and scoop them up as you see they looking and run them outside ! Of course treat them . I don't think my chiweenie was touched much by humans , last pick of her litter ! She had big feet ! Lol . Soo in love as we brought her home .
I agree, i've always had the breeder hold my pup till almost 12 weeks. I really feel the pups need socialized with the mother and other pups to be well rounded. The pup doesn't seem to be so needy when taken away from it's litter.
I must admit 5/6 days after getting my new puppy I had severe doubts. Had I done the right thing? What if my old girl wouldn’t warm to him? Was I enough for him? Etc etc. I went one way then another for a couple of days but decided to keep him. He’s now 5 months old and it was definitely the right decision- he’s well behaved (most of the time) and brings such joy. I think it’s only natural that that anxiety kicks in- you’ve been building up to this moment and then he’s there with crying, peeing, pooping and nights of broken sleep! Glad they brought her back to you though
Aine, thanks for sharing your experiences. Im so glad you pushed through the hard parts of puppy training. Its not always fun and at times can be defeating. I really appreciate you sharing! Hope you have a great week!
Yep. Honestly puppies have to be cute because they’re so much work.. I’ve had two Labrador puppies, and they are so different from one another. My first one had normal puppy biting ofcourse but man, my second one had absolutely no bite inhibition and it became really upsetting for me at times. My first one never barked either, my second one would stand there yelling at me constantly and then snapping and I genuinely wondered wether she was just gonna be agressive. Anyway, with training training training she’s turned into the absolute sweetest baby. But we’re all in agreement that if she’d gone to a family that didn’t have the time to be so constant with it she’d have been one of those labradors Given up to a shelter for being too crazy and too much for them. It’s amazing ti see how she’s turned out with me, and I am proud of that, but it really was very hard when she was little. Puppy stage is very cute at times, but I definitely prefer them when they’re past that stage and more trained.
I just signed up for this, and I remembered that it's not easy, but I had forgotten the feelings and doubt. Thank you for the reminder, as well as the reminder that it passes and that they are worth it!
I get why it’s too much for some. I had serious puppy blues the first few weeks with my lab, but she just turned 1 year old, is super smart, funny and playful and now I can’t imagine life without her!
Wow. I have a hard time understanding how a family brought her back. She’s still a very young puppy. People have to understand training takes time and every puppy is different and every command is different. With my dog, some commands he understood within a few minutes and others, it took sometimes days or even weeks before he totally understood. Tricks like shake and speak, took him nearly a month but he got it eventually. My boy is very intelligent. Stubborn at times but I just love him.
I know a lady that has two of these dogs like them...they are so badly behaved . Does she think they come fully trained or is she lazy. A man i see every morning has a HUGE dog and he's not a year old.. what a well trained dog he has...he's off the lead when walking....ignores other dogs when out and...he's fantastic...I saw him when they first got him and he did all the usual puppy things...six months later ...he doesn't even have to be told to sit near the curb.....the dog absolutely adores his owner...never seen a dog stare at his owner with such love whilst waiting for his command to cross the road....
You don’t know their circumstances. Don’t judge them. They did the right thing by returning him. They showed a lot of courage to release him. We ALL have gone thru a period of time in our lives when we think is this the right thing to do? I bet they feel badly as well.
Wow, they were never going to cut it as dog owners if one week of separation anxiety issues did them in! Glad they returned her while she's still little and easily rehomed to a more knowledgeable family.
The separation anxiety was exhausting. My Doodle is 6 months now but weeks 8 -12 she would scream and cry, whenever she wasn't in her crate, and couldn't see me. I just reminded myself that she is a literal baby and alone = death. She would lose her mind even though I work from home and her playpen was not even a foot away from me. We just practiced lots of me stepping out and then back and then one day she didn't care that I left the room to go get something lol.
Poor mother. So many births. She's going to die young if she continues to be impragnated so these people can sell her puppies. It's sad that this is a business for some people. Imagine impregnating women just to sell their infants, and then doing it all over again and again and again. Please find a new business. Thank you.
@@dukheelee7904 well in nature they would be getting pregnant every heat. As long as mother is properly cared for and retired no later than 6 she’ll be fine and go on to live a happy healthy life for years
Sadie reminds me of my own doodle girl, now 7 months. It breaks my heart she was returned but luckily they had the courage to bring her to you and not leave her to misery or resell. Admittedly, a lot goes on with a puppy and I had a moment questioning my own decision owning a dog but I think that's only natural. Once the basic house training is done the clouds lift and there's literally just pure joy, i hope Sadie found wonderful owners 💕😊
If the people had kids that made the puppy wild… I can understand. My boys would just grab the puppy and run an scream. When my kids were little there was no way I could have a puppy.
Yeah totally! I got my pup pretty late. He was already 14 weeks and even it was an adjustment for him and my family. Its not just a 24 hour care but I was also telling my small daughters that the puppy doesnt know we are "his people" yet. He has spent the majority of his life so far with his mother and the breeder's family raising him and now he is in a new environment. Thats a shock for anyone, on top of not knowing how to communicate, and also not having the wisdom and understanding of an older dogs. You need to have a lot of patience for sure.
Like everyone has said I'm glad they brought her back to you & understood that they weren’t cut out for it as it really is a full time job being a dog mama. I remember when I got my pup the first month i was sobbing thinking i made the wrong decision, i feel like i hear mothers (to humans) say the same things sometimes haha. The biggest thing I learned when I got my pup was patience, things take consistency and time. She’s a bit over a year now and although she still can rebel, i wouldn't trade her for the world.
I completely agree. Raising a puppy is a full time job! After some time, it’s so rewarding seeing them learn and grow. You’re right, patience is key! Thanks for sharing.
I was the exact same way when I brought home my little boy. I had watched videos on puppy training, read books, researched online, spoken with breeders and trainers -- none of it can prepare you for the real thing. It was so overwhelming and challenging, I cried for several days, and I wanted to contact the breeders to return him. However, I was kind of 'forced' (not by them of course, but through other circumstances) to stick with it. Now, I am so glad I didn't ask them to find a new home for him. He's still only 8 months old, but even in that time he has changed in a lot of ways. Still a lot of puppy behaviour, but he is my little light and joy! It's just the most wonderful feeling every morning to let him out of his room bright and early, and he's so happy to see me, whole body wiggling and rolling over for tummy scratches. (Still. The next time I choose to adopt, I think I might get a senior dog. Haha!)
I had a similar experience with my puppy for the first few months. I have wanted a dog for such a long time (for over 20years, since I was a child, but my parents never let me get a dog). So during my childhood to young adulthood I have researched and researched, read books, watched videos about taking care of dogs/ puppies, and training them, volunteered at helping out with puppy classes a large rehoming organisation, etc. Even with all that knowledge, it did not really prepare me for what having an actual puppy was like, especially within the 1st month. I was very sleep deprived and went through something I found out called "puppy blues"? But I kept going with training, and taking care of her (I swear my puppy was on another level of crazy! lol, apparently she was the naughtiest out of her littermates, the breeder said...) and I have learnt I needed much more patience than I had, and I know I had a lot of patience to begin with, as most people has told me... And I'm so glad I stuck to it, because now, 2yrs and a half later, even though she still makes me mad at times, and not as affectionate a dog as I would like, but she makes me so proud at other times with all the time and effort I have put into training her, and I also wouldn't trade her for anything.
@@kuroneko23hikari81 it’s incredible how you can go from wondering what you’ve done and thinking you’ve made the wrong decision to never trading it for the world, i felt the exact same way with my pup. i researched all i could, but dear god nothing prepares you for the real life thing 😂 she’s my partner in crime and it’s hard to imagine i could love anything more than her now.. it’s incredible what it teaches you
I really hate when people get a dog without really thinking it through. A puppy is a lot of work and they should realize that Sadie’s behavior was perfectly normal for a puppy. But I am glad that they only kept her for a week so now she can hopefully go to a much better forever home. People need to know a dog is a commitment to their lifespan, which could be 15 years or more.
Clearly I don't know what the situation in the household was. However, a person who's never raised a puppy would probably not have any true idea of just how challenging it could be. To accept that they were in over their heads and return the puppy to the breeder was the best thing for the puppy.
So glad you mentioned the point regarding moving crate around to other rooms as we too want to keep it in bedroom for nights, living room for daytime & spare room if we go out leaving pup at home.
Sadie is really cute! I like the positive reinforcement! We have a 7 year old Aussiedoodle. We got her as a puppy (our first dog) were so blessed to find a dog trainer who taught all about positive reinforcement training.
A new puppy is “hard work”…after 30 years of dogs, we had forgotten how hard it is…especially as a senior citizen. But, we have made it to 4+ months old with our new Australian Labradoodle and she is quite well mannered…we hope to train her to be a therapy dog now that the hospitals etc are opening back up. A new puppy takes LOTS of patience and time. I agree with all the other comments….thank goodness they returned to you rather than reselling or worse.
Sweetest Sadie! I understand people have change of hearts but having a puppy is huge...be ready for intense feelings from them! Imagine being 8 weeks old and leaving all your siblings, momma, and the only home you've ever known. Those are big feelings we gotta help our lil fur kiddos through!
This story could hv a not so happy ending. Glad she was brought back to a place that loved her from the beginning. I'm struggling with a new puppy. Even thought of sending him back but I signed up for it & together we will make it.
I don't know how anyone could give up that cute little girl! For me, the first two weeks were tough with my labradoodle puppy, but I never thought of giving him up. Once we settled into a routine, it was so much easier. We eventually gave up crate training at 4 months because it wasn't working for us and he was fine around the house unsupervised as long as we blocked off non-puppy proofed areas. He's going to be 7 months soon and he is almost a perfect puppy. He hasn't had an accident in almost 3 months and the only thing he gets into is paper so we keep that far away from his reach.
You are doing a great job. I'm a breeder. So far no-one has brought their pups back. They all understood there will be some struggles with fun times. Prior to buying pup I provide them with an information pack plus discuss what they can expect. I have had 2 change their mind once they realized they are having babies at the same time they were to receive their pup.
It’s a lot of work for a Golden Doodle. Mine is a female, Rosie, 33 lbs, 2 years old in June, a hand full, lots of time but with the love she gives back.
Golden doodle are very smart and they get trained fast but you need to know how to raise them just like babies from a young age. I can’t believe she was returned I wish I can take her. Just the cutest. My daughter too 2 months maternity leave for just training her an d it paid. We are enjoying her a lot.
Hey Kamila - I do know certain breeds need that longer time, but these puppies are eager for training and so excited to meet their families at 8 weeks.
My 9 month old goldendoodle was absolutely entranced by your video whenever it showed the dogs! Doodles are so smart. I understand the family returning their puppy, and I'm sure in their instance it was the right thing to do. Many people get doodles because they look cute but don't look more into their training and grooming requirements. They are hyper, energetic, and headstrong dogs! But once you get past that puppy stage (thankfully i'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!) it is so worth it because you have a goofy, sweet, and extremely loyal best friend. ❤️
I am happy they brought her back. I just rescued a 6 month labradoodle 2 nights ago. He is so, so skinny. Doesn't even look like a labradoodle, he looks like a terrier. I have taken him to the vet and I contacted the breeder and he was able to sent me pics of the parents and of him at 6 weeks since they do not have a lot of liters. Hoping he fattens up soon!
I so could not give a puppy back. We actually got a puppy that was four months old and with love, and guidance and training, he has become the best therapy dog. He is loved and adored everywhere he goes.
New to this site!I am so surprised they brought her back because of transition anxiety in a puppy! They must have had unreal expectations .They at least returned her with was their saving grace.I bet you They did not have the first clue on taking care of a puppy! They are very much like babies in needing their needs met and feeling safe and a routine. I bet they were either a young married couple or an older married couple.
Yes, I am a little dumbfounded as to what they would have expected with getting a new puppy ?? And after only a week, I duno ... It just seem to always surprise me when ppl don't realize what getting a puppy means. I duno, glad they returned her so she can find a loving home.
Jana, you're right. They were overwhelmed and panicked on not knowing what to do. Im glad Sadie came back and she is now with a great family! Thanks for watching!
Over some thinking, I am glad that the puppy was returned. It's better than a shelter and abusing the dog. The person who returned the dog did the right thing.
Hey Erin... always a happy moment everytime I saw your videos. I love the way you and your family taking care of those puppies and the moms too. I also love the design of your nursery home its feel so homy and comfy. Much more blessing for you and your family 🤗
Of course is gonna be overwhelming sometimes. They're just babies. Some ppl want to show off a pretty puppy but not all the work, effort and time it takes. I've had 2 puppies at 3wks due to mom not being not being able to take care of them due to health issues. I had to get up multiple times at night to feed, or cause they were crying or what not. One is now almost 5yo and the other 6mos and i can't imagine my life without my furbabies ❤
Yes , puppies are a lot of work. The first year and a half is you do the most training. I have always trained my own puppies with the help of my family. I feel that it's very important for each family member to build a relationship and understand how the puppy is learning. I had German shepherds, pit bulls, boxers and poodles.
I just got an havanese puppy Jan 3 2022 9 weeks old. I love ❤️ her so much but I can say its not easy even though I’ve had many dogs and even bred a female golden. Its like having a baby and a huge time commitment to train them. To top it off the north east weather has been awful for me and the puppy. I am definitely conditioned to freezing cold and snow now! I can see how inexperienced owners could easily be overwhelmed. Lucky for me is my puppy took to the crate and playpen ever so easily and slept through the night from day one! I also have a wonderful cat who loves playing with the puppy so makes it a bit easier to burn off some excess puppy energy..
I have a 2 year old goldendoodle who I got when she was 8 weeks. Puppies are incredibly hard, especially if its your first time. They're so worth it to put in the work :)
Thank you so very much for showing all of this and sharing with us! I get my mini-goldendoodle puppy on 04/20/22. Watching everything possible to make sure I’m prepared!
You are kind and understanding to accept return. I hope the returned puppy will end up with a loving forever home (not like the previous ex-owner). I hope people wouldn't treat a puppy like a pair of shoes.
I got my lab puppy at 12 weeks and he’s perfect. I think it’s actually better i left him there longer as the owner let him socialise with loads of his other dogs, his brothers and his mother. It depends on the breeder though, they might neglect them for a few weeks if you choose to leave it longer.
@@DoodlesofNC no problem! I heard loads of negative things about getting a puppy later than 12 weeks - like not being able to bond to them and socialise them etc but it’s just completely rubbish. You seem like the perfect pooch breeder
Puppies are like toddlers and require so much attention. They were not the right owners for the puppy. The next home she gets will love her unconditionally. 💗💗💗
Awww! I wish we could take her, but I am glad she was returned to the breeder. 🥰 It does take some patience for those who are trying to adopt a puppy. It gets better though 🥰
I laugh. After losing my 21 year old quiet, smart, beautiful angora cat I decided to get a little toy puddle. Culture shock. We are doing beginners 101 puppy training again because i flunked the first round. My house is her crate and she cries and barks if I leave. But…I’m learning and loving!
There is nothing wrong with this puppy. She is smart as a whip. I trained my little adopted dog to go « in her house ». She goes in her house during the day sometimes and I praise her. When company comes she gets very excited so I tell her to go in her house to « settle » and let her out once she is calmed. Took a bit of time, but now she does it on her own and knows she will get a treat because she is a « good dog ». I love dogs, wish I could afford one of your beautiful doggies. I would love to be near you and volunteer to help….
I never have used a crate. 14year old poodle, 5 years old Doberman, and now Lola, 7 mo old staphie/boxer ....They all use doggy door to fenced huge yard. And potty trained. When I leave? Which I work from home, I usually take Doberman more since hes my Service dog. They do great alone. No shoes 👠 or.anything chewed. I have tons of toys...2 subs to doggy box 📦 monthly .
That is so great that the family returned Sadie to you! She is so gorgeous! I LOVE HER! Also, thank you so much for replying to my question about being a breeder. I'm not there yet but I just adore your videos and Sadie! Both of your daughter's are beautiful and sweet too!
We agree. They were a great family to work with. Sadie has the best personality! It’s so fun having a puppy her age around but a lot work too. Thanks for the kind words about our girls. Hope you have a great week!
I really don't understand people, didn't these people do research as to the training of these puppies and Pottie training?? There are tutorials, books all kinds of literature, NO EXCUSE in my opinion. I'm really sad to see puppies or dogs returned back because the owners think pups and dogs are self taught and they should know where to Pottie from birth!!! How ridiculous and sad for the puppies or dogs especially rescues!!! I'm very happy however that the former owners of Safe returned her to you.......you and your husband seem very dedicated to the health and welfare of these precious balls of fur, thank you both for your love and care of the Moms and puppies. Your both doing a great job!! 💗
Michelle, you are so kind! We try our best to ensure each puppy has an amazing and healthy life, both mentally and physically. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Ahhh, this was a great video. I am new to your channel. How is Sadie doing now? I have worked for a dog trainer and done a lot of work with puppies. I'm glad the people brought her back to you.
i put a wire play pen in the kitchen, my 18 week is really loving it, she watch the commons area for dogs playing and me cooking....it serves as a holding pen when coming in after play...allows any wet paws to dry off
This is one of the many reasons I keep my puppies until they're 16 weeks old that way when they go to their new homes they are crate trained mostly housebroken started on lease training and basic obedience. You can walk outside with one of my puppies tell them go potty and go poop and they will do it. It is not abnormal for people to not understand the benefits behind my doing this the reasons that I do it and the value that it provides them but when I see things like this it reinforces why I do it. But then again I started as a trainer before I started as a breeder
for first time dog owners, they must be so excited to get a puppy and see how cute they are that they have no idea how much work it's going to be! I know I would be in that boat if I didn't see all these videos myself. a rewarding challenge I'm sure, but if you have full time jobs, especially if you have to go into the office, it must be very tough! keeping them that long is definitely a testament to the breeder. It's sad when I see pups given away at 4 weeks
What we do, with our puppies is a week before they are going to there new home, we drive out to the family with the puppies and all family got their puppies home for an hour to two.
I've learnt and understood that l would never go to a breeder when there are thousands of dogs to be rescued out there.....but upon saying that l did make the unfortunate mistake of having a German shepherd puppy from what l understand to be a backyard breeder then couriered over to me nearly 11 years ago! He was 7/8 weeks old when l got him. I desperately wanted him to stay with his mother longer but all his siblings had been sold and gone to their new homes. He was bloody hard work for the next couple of years and training never stops but he was the best £250 l ever spent! Today l have a well rounded, obedient, loyal and most protective lovely natured best friend l could ever want. I get told 'that's not a dog, that's a bear' but kids seem to think that he's a horse lol....love my boy to bits ❤
training puppies is hard, we got my rottie at 8 weeks she’s now a little over 12 weeks. those first weeks are really hard and really anxiety inducing but puppies are like babies and take a lot of time. i did one training session with her food at like 9 weeks and she learned how to sit and lay down just from that one session. but we went over those cues over and over and that helped a lot. i think a lot of people expect to get a puppy and just have them be super calm and well behaved like they see older dogs online but it takes time and repetition to get them to that point. if you know you might struggle or not have the time to train a pup maybe consider getting a trainer before you get a pup. at 5 weeks we are sending her to a trainer to live with them for two weeks. my pup is doing really well with everything she sits and waits for her food until i say “okay” same with the door she had to wait until i give her permission to go outside, she goes to the door and looks up at her leash when she has to potty (she still has accidents but not as many) the main thing we are still working on is biting and coming when called but positive reinforcement and one on one time she’s doing really well. that’s all it really takes 💜.
Hello! I just saw this video. I am sorry to hear this but I understand that training and caring for a puppy requires a lot and some people are not ready. I wish that I could have a wonderful dog like this one ( I am sure this puppy has a home by now 😊).
What an absolutely adorable puppy just being a PUPPY. Dogs are sensitive animals and will inherit the traits of their owners. Your calm demeanor is already half the battle won. I cannot see any behavior which is so awful enough that she should be brought back to you. That said she deserves an home where she will be loved and not given up on after only ONE WEEK.
People always want puppies for their cuteness & expect them to just be perfect but they're not just for looking at. They're literally babies and babies are hard work. I know several people who adopted puppies and gave them away 1-2 weeks later cause they say "this dog is too stressful or misbehaved etc" and it breaks my heart when puppies have to bounce around homes. Like im sure your parents were tired of you when you were a baby but they put up with it and you grew! They will require alot of hard work, patience & love. Just like a human baby, you can't just give it away just cause you're tired of the hardwork. It affects & confuses them. When you get exhausted, just remember its a phase & they WILL mature at some point.
I was very lucky to be able to adopt my Shih Tzu from an elderly lady on Next Door app. Her husband was ill and she just could not handle the new puppy and a sick husband. Puppies definitely have a lot of energy and take a LOT of time. When I called the breeder to find out how much the mother and father weigh, so I could get an idea about Lacey, the breeder was so angry that the lady did not return the pup to her. However, after talking to me, she felt much better. Most good breeders considers these pups their babies and only want what is best for them.
It is definitely hard!
I loved puppy training. My trainer told us that a lot of hard work in year 1 leads to easy street for the rest of your puppy’s life.

I got my first puppy ever on my birthday week 2021. My birthday week was NOT pleasant at all. 0-/10 would not recommend.
This happens more than people expect! Its so worth it though once you get through the hard part! Thanks for sharing!
Julie, thanks for sharing. This is so true!
Better to return her than just dump her. We just acquired a black lab puppy because some asshole dumped her.
Me too!
Thank you.
ONE WEEK? Sounds like there might have been some anxiety issues inthe family.
@@dukheelee7904 well in nature they would be getting pregnant every heat. As long as mother is properly cared for and retired no later than 6 she’ll be fine and go on to live a happy healthy life for years
Getting a puppy is like having your first child. It’s a learning process for parents n babies/puppies. We can’t wait to get our new puppy this summer🤗
yay for a summer puppy! potty training is much more tolerable than the cold nights and early mornings!
Agun, this is so true! Thanks for your comment!
@@DoodlesofNC my puppy doesn't like treats how can I still train him
@@LovePatience32 toys, carrots or anything your pup likes will help you to train your puppy.
I don't understand how anyone could give back such a clever little cutie.
It was a hard decision for them but the right one.
If the people had kids that made the puppy wild… I can understand. My boys would just grab the puppy and run an scream. When my kids were little there was no way I could have a puppy.
Puppies are babies. More people need to think about the 24 hour care, training and time a puppy requires before getting a pup.
Thanks for your thoughts JC. Raising a puppy is a full time job at times. But the hard work pays off.
@@kuroneko23hikari81 it’s incredible how you can go from wondering what you’ve done and thinking you’ve made the wrong decision to never trading it for the world, i felt the exact same way with my pup. i researched all i could, but dear god nothing prepares you for the real life thing 😂 she’s my partner in crime and it’s hard to imagine i could love anything more than her now.. it’s incredible what it teaches you
@@mariaasmrr I have a lot of pets, do you want to see them?
I really hate when people get a dog without really thinking it through. A puppy is a lot of work and they should realize that Sadie’s behavior was perfectly normal for a puppy. But I am glad that they only kept her for a week so now she can hopefully go to a much better forever home. People need to know a dog is a commitment to their lifespan, which could be 15 years or more.
It is a challenge for many! But one of the best!!!
So glad this helped you! Thanks so much for subscribing!
Sadie is really cute! I like the positive reinforcement! We have a 7 year old Aussiedoodle. We got her as a puppy (our first dog) were so blessed to find a dog trainer who taught all about positive reinforcement training.
I love aussies!
I agree, it takes a lot of work and love Sadie looks like she will be okay.
She is amazing
A new puppy is “hard work”…after 30 years of dogs, we had forgotten how hard it is…especially as a senior citizen. But, we have made it to 4+ months old with our new Australian Labradoodle and she is quite well mannered…we hope to train her to be a therapy dog now that the hospitals etc are opening back up. A new puppy takes LOTS of patience and time. I agree with all the other comments….thank goodness they returned to you rather than reselling or worse.
That is amazing! I'd love to see a photo of her!
I am training my Maltese puppy to be a therapy dog because I work in the healthcare ❤
And now she’s at a perfect home
I have a new puppy too and man I almost almost took him back, but a lot of sleepless nights and practicing with him helped so much.
Great job! Keep training , it gets better with time! Thanks for the support!
If the pup was separated from mum at 8 weeks I understand why. I would encourage anyone to not buy from these "breeders".
This story could hv a not so happy ending. Glad she was brought back to a place that loved her from the beginning. I'm struggling with a new puppy. Even thought of sending him back but I signed up for it & together we will make it.
Keep working on your training. It will get better! Don't give up! We appreciate your honesty and your support!
Routine is key!
Oh I’m glad for you! It wasn’t until about 2 years ago that people started returning! I think Covid affected a lot of it! What do you breed?
It’s a lot of work for a Golden Doodle. Mine is a female, Rosie, 33 lbs, 2 years old in June, a hand full, lots of time but with the love she gives back.
The love makes it worth it!
Golden doodle are very smart and they get trained fast but you need to know how to raise them just like babies from a young age. I can’t believe she was returned I wish I can take her. Just the cutest. My daughter too 2 months maternity leave for just training her an d it paid. We are enjoying her a lot.
It takes dedication for all breeds for sure!
You are amazing, and the work you do is admirable.
Thank you for those kind words!
And what a gorgeous puppy. 😍
We agree. Thanks for the comment!
Your videos are so helpful, please never stop!!!!!! Thanks!
oh my goodness you just made my night! thank you!
It is kinder and more beneficial for a puppy to stay with mum for 12 weeks.
Hey Kamila - I do know certain breeds need that longer time, but these puppies are eager for training and so excited to meet their families at 8 weeks.
She is great with her crate and other commands
Thank you!
that is what my stella does and she is a fantastic service dog love that I found your channel
I’m So glad!
Hannah, thanks so much for sharing your story! I completely agree with you!
I am sure he will!
I recently got a 3 month old goldendoodle I have 2 older Lhasa Apso and I had doubts the first 3 days I’m glad I pushed through Oreo is a joy!!
I’m so glad! They have a tribe!!
I so could not give a puppy back. We actually got a puppy that was four months old and with love, and guidance and training, he has become the best therapy dog. He is loved and adored everywhere he goes.
Good for you Susan!!! Your amazing!
I agree. I think a lot of folks have unrealistic expectations!
Jana, you're right. They were overwhelmed and panicked on not knowing what to do. Im glad Sadie came back and she is now with a great family! Thanks for watching!
Erin, we agree!
Janice, you're right. I'm thankful its only happened 3 times in the last 8 years.
Over some thinking, I am glad that the puppy was returned. It's better than a shelter and abusing the dog. The person who returned the dog did the right thing.
I couldn’t agree more. Sadie is doing awesome!
I recently brought home a goldendoodle puppy and that first week was no joke!
I hope it’s going well now!

Hey Erin... always a happy moment everytime I saw your videos. I love the way you and your family taking care of those puppies and the moms too. I also love the design of your nursery home its feel so homy and comfy.
Much more blessing for you and your family 🤗
Thank you! We love the nursery’s!
Oh my goodness!! That is amazing you were able to take care of them.
I got my pup at 4 months. It was HELL, but it was worth it. He's 9 months now and the best dog ever. Just gotta push through it
So true!
Sadie lucky to have you guys
Thank you! Sadie is loving life with her new family!
Yes , puppies are a lot of work. The first year and a half is you do the most training. I have always trained my own puppies with the help of my family. I feel that it's very important for each family member to build a relationship and understand how the puppy is learning. I had German shepherds, pit bulls, boxers and poodles.
Agreed! Thanks for sharing!
That's awesome! Thanks so much for sharing your progression of puppy parenthood. It is a big commitment but sounds like you're become a pro!
I have a 2 year old goldendoodle who I got when she was 8 weeks. Puppies are incredibly hard, especially if its your first time. They're so worth it to put in the work :)

We are too. Sadie is doing great with her new family!
I got my lab puppy at 12 weeks and he’s perfect. I think it’s actually better i left him there longer as the owner let him socialise with loads of his other dogs, his brothers and his mother. It depends on the breeder though, they might neglect them for a few weeks if you choose to leave it longer.
Those are good thoughts, Frafor. Thanks for sharing your experience.
@@DoodlesofNC no problem! I heard loads of negative things about getting a puppy later than 12 weeks - like not being able to bond to them and socialise them etc but it’s just completely rubbish. You seem like the perfect pooch breeder

I laugh. After losing my 21 year old quiet, smart, beautiful angora cat I decided to get a little toy puddle. Culture shock. We are doing beginners 101 puppy training again because i flunked the first round. My house is her crate and she cries and barks if I leave. But…I’m learning and loving!
As long as you keep it up you'll be successful.

So cute!
Why thank you!
Thats awesome! Thanks for sharing.

Doing so amazing with crate training, and obedience training
i put a wire play pen in the kitchen, my 18 week is really loving it, she watch the commons area for dogs playing and me cooking....it serves as a holding pen when coming in after play...allows any wet paws to dry off

Hello, I live in Canada. Can you recommend a good breeder of pomeranian puppies? Thanks!
I don’t know any, but go with your gut. Someone who is very communicative .
Wow, that is amazing GoRogue! Thanks so much for sharing!

Very true!!
What we do, with our puppies is a week before they are going to there new home, we drive out to the family with the puppies and all family got their puppies home for an hour to two.
Oh wow!! What a nice idea. Our puppies go all over so it’s not feasible for us but I’m so glad it works for you guys!
I know he is in a loving home! How wonderful.
training puppies is hard, we got my rottie at 8 weeks she’s now a little over 12 weeks. those first weeks are really hard and really anxiety inducing but puppies are like babies and take a lot of time. i did one training session with her food at like 9 weeks and she learned how to sit and lay down just from that one session. but we went over those cues over and over and that helped a lot. i think a lot of people expect to get a puppy and just have them be super calm and well behaved like they see older dogs online but it takes time and repetition to get them to that point. if you know you might struggle or not have the time to train a pup maybe consider getting a trainer before you get a pup. at 5 weeks we are sending her to a trainer to live with them for two weeks. my pup is doing really well with everything she sits and waits for her food until i say “okay” same with the door she had to wait until i give her permission to go outside, she goes to the door and looks up at her leash when she has to potty (she still has accidents but not as many) the main thing we are still working on is biting and coming when called but positive reinforcement and one on one time she’s doing really well. that’s all it really takes 💜.
They definitely expect easy! I’m glad you worked on your pup!
Hello! I just saw this video. I am sorry to hear this but I understand that training and caring for a puppy requires a lot and some people are not ready. I wish that I could have a wonderful dog like this one ( I am sure this puppy has a home by now 😊).

@@DoodlesofNC I googled Doodles of NC and signed up for emails. Do you have lots of breeders on that page…I’m a bit confused.
Kathryn, thanks for sharing your thoughts. Sadie is with an amazing family now and is doing great!
It is hard work, but so worth it!
Some people do not know how to truly deal with the ordinary challenges of a good puppy.
It is normal puppy behavior. That’s why we really want people to utilize a trainer!
@@DoodlesofNC She is an incredible puppy.
Exactly!
