REAR MOTOR MOUNT INQUIRIES...
I get lots of questions on 4wd rear motor mount removal, labor time is less than 1hr for rear mount [anything more then you're the problem 😂]. I'll list removal instructions below, they're pretty much cut and dry! You'll definitely have to get access to bolts by positioning your body above or below engine compartment to ease effort. Goodluck!
1.Remove rear mount retaining bolts (4).2.Remove rear mount through bolt (1) .3.Remove oxygen sensor connector (2) from mount.4.Remove rear mount (3).
-as simplistic as instructions are, you may have to jack up engine via floor jack [with wooden block between for protection], to elevate motor for Clarence for removal.
Hey i noticed some of your viewers were asking about vibration at stop or in park. Could be rough idle due to bad idle control valve. I found this video because im definitely going to have to replace some of my mounts on my 2014 jeep Patriot. Very good video . Thanks
I don’t think so. Different symptoms for that.
I have watched three videos on how to do this but yours is the most intuitive and thanks for keeping such a steady video stream!
Replaced all four Mounts on my 2008 Patriot this weekend. Your video was a big help for the bottome two. Thank you for posting.
Thanks for the vid man, crazy how much easier this was than i thought id would be.
Excellent video, not many videos out there on the patriot. Thank you for the contribution. Huge help!
Good job on the narrating, very easy to follow.
Thank you for this documented great job! You just took out what is necessary, I had seen vids about this, where "experts" tears the suspension down, because they dont know better! Thank you!
Best video so far for these mounts thankyou so much
Thanks bud did exactly and worked great. thank you keep it up
This is a pretty well filmed video thank you!
My husband will enjoy your content. Thanks for sharing
thank you and god bless always.i really appreciate you for joining my live stream yesterday take care always.and I'm always here to support your channel
Thanks for this I will be replacing them on my daughters truck tomorrow.
Have to do this to my sister’s Patriot tmo. This really helped.

Muchas gracias compa, excelente video 👌🏻
Ha sido de mucha ayuda.
This is going to save me $1800!!!!! Thank you!!!! (this plus an A/C hose, dealership costs)
great video, god bless you sir
Thank you for the video. How long would you say it should take a mid level DIY ding it?
hey man great video. just wanna ask, the vibration dampners on the old mounts, did you just reuse them with the new ones?
I swear the compass is the most fixable suv i ever bought yet,the engine and transmission are basically a hundai
Very nice.. keep it up.. coming from HC host... stay safe
Great job. What's the mileage on this 2008 partiot?
Wow amazing keep safe vlog stay safe
Thanks for this awesome video bro. Perfect camera angling and commentary. Was this customer's issue excessive vibration while stopped/idle while the gear's in drive?
Thanks...
I wanna say no, I just did what I was told! But if I recall, his vibration was actually from a defective tire😂
But what you're referring to as "vibration while stopped" yes, engine mounts are typically the culprit 90% of the time.
Hey there sami kent, I'm curious if you ever came to a conclusion on the vibration at idle while in gear? I'm experiencing the same. If you can tell me if you ever figured that out I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
😅@@partsshooter
Let me ask you, the front motor mount the smaller one that's easy to remove has a bigger hole than the fastening bolt? Lots of play in that hole, is t hff at normal? Have a constant vibration, even after replacing all of them, but I noticed the difference in the hole and bolt?
Tell me which one is the gearbox mounting ? The first one under? Does it make noise when it needs replacement?
Great vid my friend. Keep it up. Really detailed. 😀😀😀
So I have a 2015 jeep patriot when I drive it. It sounds like something is loose up under my car. I know it could either be my motor Mount, or rotors anyway I was just wondering if anybody had the same problem… also my my car shakes real bad when at a stand still and whenever I get up to 60 on my mph it shakes 4:06
My 2015 doesn’t shake on the fwy/ high speeds. Only at slow or in idle. I’m looking into doing the mounts but also Spark plugs were my issue last because for patriots it’s supposed to be replaced every 30k
It's good to work dear.
Was the customer experiencing loud thumping noises that sounded like a suspension problem but ended up being the motor mounts?
How are you supporting the engine?
Is the motor mount underneath the computer that you replace was it bad..???
Ty!!
What issues did the owner have with the jeep?
Did that help with the vivration?
What year Patriot is this? I have the 2010 4x4 and rear mount looks kinda different
I have 2017 and definitely different than what he is doing
Do I have to take the whole bracket out for the rear mount if all I want to change is the mount ?
You maybe able to manage without it, it's worth a try
Hey bro I don’t expect a response but do you think if I take the passenger top motor mount off Then lower motor enough to reach tensioner bolt threads from passenger wheel well with a reverse drill bit I’ll be able to take it that snapped bolt out
You snapped a bolt?
@@partsshooter no this customer called me said hard steering told her I’d take a look pop the hood see belt popped off find tensioner snapped bolt and it’s self somehow so yea I’m stuck Trying to figure out how to get this snapped bolt out the motor so I can reinstall a new bolt just seeing if what I said was the best way before I did it
Haha I just did this and then found this video . I can see why these go bad as the engine still has a lot of movement even after replacing mounts , more than I’d like to see , weird .
What size is the rear motor mount bolts
Nice
Was the customer experiencing excessive vibration while stopped at red lights or under heavy acceleration?
Muy bueno el tutoría gracias
I'm experiencing vibration while at idle while in gear, im curious if you ever figured out your issue?
@@phillippardo5712 did you?
@@forniafishing I think its the motor mounts. When I hold my engine while somebody outs it in gear with foot on brake. The vibration stops. I did mounts twice on the car. Shit mounts I'm guessing.
Very through! This guy is legit.
Looks like it had the original factory mounts
Did you not need to support the engine while changing the mounts?
Yeah he said he put a jack under it
So the motor won’t drop if you take off the motor mount?
Lol... In this case, no. You can remove them 1 at a time without the engine falling out 99.9% of the time
The rear engine mount does not last long. That replacement might last only 30k miles. I had to make my own rear mount. Works great.
Make your own? How??
He's lying haha@@phillippardo5712
I have a 2010 Jeep Patriot and when I hit bumps I hear a clunking sound coming from my driver front, I've replaced control arm, Shock & struts and still has the noise. On the highway I drive with ease but once I get to town and hit them potholes grrrrrr. Any advise? Please
Ever figure it out?
@@salvatorepadovano1405 yeah I bought a 4runner lol. to many issues, I built the frame from the ground up and had so many side issues I decided to just sell it and get a Toyota
Seems like nobody has a video on how to do the rear mount on the 4wd I'm about to give up lol. FYI not the same because of the 4wd "transfer case" in the way
Man! I'm sure if you can see it, you can remove it! Seem like a day job for a weekend wrencher! You have the same truck, I'll shoot you labor time so you have an idea!
Send your year make and model
I'm also trying to replace the rear mount on a 4 wheel drive. The bolts are impossible to reach!
Same as the fwd but alittle more.Spray them with Pb blaster before you work on then.
Stalking here
😆
customhonda got you hahaha
What gun you are using?
Power torque from O'Reilly's auto parts
I followed this video and everything went smoothly! However when I got back into the car the vibration while slowing down and at idle is way worse. What did I do wrong?
Check the idle conditions of the engine.... Google or check for videos as to "how to clean throttle body". Possibly you have low idle conditions. If your check engine lights on, investigate that and see if the issues correlated with what you're experiencing.
@@partsshooter OK thanks! I have no lights on at the moment but I am sure the throttle body could use a clean. Also, seems to be worse in drive/park as opposed to neutral so Im going to do a transmission fluid service as well. Currently at 115k miles.
@@brianlabarbera6956 hmmm.... And you changed all mounts?
@@partsshooter I did. Is there a certain tightening sequence for the mounts or something? I did driver trans, pass trans, front then rear. All tightened as I went. Nothing seemed off about the install.
@@brianlabarbera6956 is it worst with ac on or off or the same? Check the idle and get back with me
What issues was the driver having before replacing the motor mounts?
Excessive vibration
My patriot will shake rattle and roll in drive and stop in park and neutral.. it's one hell of a design flaw. I have just decided to live with it, and believe it's unfixable
Did you ever find a fix? Mine vibrates in drive pretty bad. In park it isn't as bad and noticed if I put the e brake on shift to neutral then park the vibration is gone. But in drive it's always present.
And. On 4x4 really?
Bs why don't you show putting the rear mount 😂
