Clio 1.2 front wheel drive. 3 mount points. Replaced the top engine end mount and the rear/dogbone because I had a vibration. Didnt cure it and if anything made it worse. Gonna try the gearbox top mount. If that doesnt solve it... what would?
If replacing a mount made it worse then you are on the right track with maybe the wrong parts. Or if you tighten down mounts while they are under tension you can cause vibrations. We often loosen mounts and rev the engine to settle them
@@MasterTechLou do you loosen all 3 at the same time, or individually?
@@andyrantshumanphilosopher7571 if front wheel drive its a little trickier as you do need to support the engine you just dont want the mounts under tension . So I would loosen the mounts and jack the engine and rock it to make sure its as relaxed as possible. Also I have yet to find motor mounts that are as good as the dealer ones.
Help me out. I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant 2.4. Didn't have much of a vibration before but engine mounts were old. I replaced them now have a terrible cabin vibration especially when in gear. I also have developed a wobble when given gas. That may be because of me shifting that motor and transmission up and down. Can you give me your thoughts?
I will say aftermarket motor mounts are not as good as dealer mounts. Also you may need to loosen them and rev and rock the engine to get them to
Settle. But if you got aftermarket mounts, that may have made it worse than worn oem. Wobble feeling on acceleration is usually cv axle
Related but if non of this was
There before doing the work, then you have your answer.
Do you ever replace just the bad or worst ones?
Not usually, because then the weak ones can cause the new ones to tear or break
Speciallized in shock absorber supports, engine supports, transmission supports since 2008,please contact if needing
Great video. Thaks for making it.
Thank you for the information 😊
Are my mounts bad if there's no vibration but knocking sound under load, and when jacked up the cover of the engine mount lifts up ?
Bravo!!!👏
Darn good info bud
Thank you...well done!
i have Tahoe 98
when i start A/C and put transmission in D in stop mode it's vibrating until i move and drive on the road
with speed no problem !
and without A/C also no problem!
Probably low idle? Engine struggles to keep runnin. Might look into misfiring issue? Or possibly bad compressor or overcharged ac system
Great video
The first engine mount is the passenger side, thanks me later 😃
Hi thank you for the video
What are the insulators for?
And what would be the cost to get something like that fixed on a 2009 Nissan Murano
I have this weird thin on my 1.8 tsi passat where engine kind of rumbles / vibrates during shifting. And it only does it sometimes, like 20% of the time.
Been to three different mechanica and none of them could figure it out. Maybe they were also lazy to figure it out
@@AldoApachi- torque converter or spark plugs would be something I would focus on
Can I replace them without removing my engine? 2016 Hyhindai Accent. I was ran off the road into grass and two days later it started. Goes away after car is more warm or put in neutral
How long can you drive on a bad motor mount? I just found out today both of my front are bad on my 2010 Infiniti G37x.
Forever. 🤷🏼♂️
What if I already replaced all mounts and still get a vibration on gear?
I will try and do the passenger mountain and see if that doesn't anything different
Thank you so much!
Make sense. Thanks
Intermittent juddering vibration on startup only, almost violent i.e. 'intermittent' not every time; often perfectly normal start up; more likely when the cold starting; but also when at OT??? Audi A3 1.9tdi 8P1.

GREAT TIP!!!!!!
A good one 👍
Mine vibrates bad when ac is turned on only any suggestions or ideas?
Thanks for this.
I just found out my X3 needs motor mounts good thing I have a warranty!
Lou, do I go to Toyota then pay 5 mounts for $700 that gets me 150K or should I get Chinese made on Amazon $70. Any luck with Chinese made? Do they last ?
@@bonholio0o in my experience when it comes to motor mounts you get what you pay for.
I have a 2012 Honda civic it shakes under 45mph. Mostly when the speed limit is
Sounds like the torque converter for the transmission possibly
Okay fuckin same, but on my 2020 Forte GT. Same exact thing.
God, I wonder how this simple tip can save a lot of money
My jetta only vibrates when i go above 60. Is that for sure bad motor mounts?
No, torque converter, wheels, tires, brakes , loose steering components need looked at
Thank you
What could happen if i didn't change them? If vibration is lets say medium to high
Nothing. Just annoyance. Unless the mounts secure the engine from movement Which can wear and break wiring
@@MasterTechLou thanks 🌹🌹
What if it rattles only when accelerating? How can I diagnose the problem
On jack stands with the drive wheels off the ground
I lost 3 or so bolts to my mount and other 2 or 3 were loose. Car was JUMPING side to side violently when i braked.
Oh dang!
My car is shaking and vibrating when ac is on and when I stopped and due to that it leads to the car just stop and not wanting to drive I have to turn it off completely and wait for a while until it can drive again what would you say is the reason ?
Either overcharging of the ac or the ac compressor is about to seize up
Outstanding
Thank your awesome
I.
Replace my rear motor out of my nineteen honda core and the dog motor steel filling vibration
what about when I only feel vibration when the A/c is on?
Ac compressor or belt tensioner or alternator.
What if we change engine and gear mounts ,spark plugs ,coils are ok and still vibration when put gear on Drive or Reverse !!
! What else remaning?
Im fed off 😮
thanks
Thx!
Why only replace 3 and not 4?
@@ger_amer there are only 3 in mercedes cars except for fwd models.
@ thank you, for the reply it is appreciated. I’m learning.
I have a 2018 cla 250, it only vibrates in reverse gear
Change plug first too
Man ya think warranty covers Motor Mounts?
I currently have a 4k Bill for;
Motor mount on left side (driver)
Both front Axles $1k each
All four control arms $200 each
A crap ton of money on labor
Breakpads.
If one is shut, then might as well change the rest
