If I want to save gas, it would by the hybrid XSE all the way. Even if it was a 4 cyl vehicle. It’s all in with that route or go V6. Otherwise the regular 4 cyl was never an option for me. I’m the end, I chose the V6 and said, “screw it. You only live once.”

I just got a 2020 XSE Camry AWD, and since it’s AWD, it only comes in the 4 cylinder. I love it. The 4 cylinder has just enough power for me, and it’s especially fun in Sport mode. It’s not so much fun in Eco mode (for obvious reasons) but it’s so fuel efficient and still very energetic.

I don't like the 4 banger put -put sound regardless of decent power output The 6 cyl is way overpriced. It shouldn't cost more then a $2000 as a stand allone option on the L E .Nowadays to get 2 more cylinder you have to buy a lot of ad-ons you can do without giving you problem down the road that get in the way and will be expensive to fix if you're lucky enough to be able to get them fixed.

I had two rentals one V4 2.5 liter XSE and one V6 3.5 liter XSE the V6 got 24 mpg on average and 283 miles on a full tank of gas. And the V4 got 35 mpg and 491 miles on a full tank while the V6 is faster. The V4 does good enough for me and they both are limited to 135 mph. And now I'm not allowed to rent any more cars because I tested both Camrys to there limits. And the rental company wasn't happy about that lol I noticed the V4 handled better and felt easier to corner at high speeds due to having a lighter front end.

I drove a black on black 2015 XSE V6 that I bought new & drove for three & a half years (my brother bought the car two years ago). The Camry's currently the only family sedan that still offers a 6-cylinder engine. My mom drives a 2017 XLE 4-cylinder that I've driven many times & is surprisingly punchy & has plenty of power for me, but far prefer the V6 for the sound.

If you want, or need the extra power and torque, and can afford it, get the V6 is you must, but the 4 cylinder has a lot power, is not slightly nose heavy with the V6, so handling is slightly better. The V6 is also harder to work on and cost more for certain things for maintenance or repairs. The 4 cylinder is slightly more reliable, though both N/A engines beat the turbo GDI engines for durability, reliability, dependability, and longevity.
The TRD is nice, but must have the JBL stereo, which I believe is available for 2021, albeit without the CD player from the 2020 XSE. Also, the TRD rear seat not being able to fold down for more storage utility is a deal breaker if it will be your only car, and not a recreational car, or you have a car or SUV/truck with more cargo capacity, should you need it. The other thing is the non TRD exhaust, the mufflers look horrid by at the back end by the exhaust tips is the start looking like they are rusting, and the lame fake exhaust tip in each pair is just as bad. The V6 at least should have the TRD exhaust available as an OEM accessory option.

The JBL in these toyotas suck ass. I love my 2021 Camry XSE V6 and 2022 Highlander Platinum which both have the JBL but it sucks. Better to get a base stereo and upgrade it with good aftermarket speakers. The tweeters in these sound so harsh I have them down to -5 on both cars just to be able to listen to music semi-comfortably. And the seats on the XSE are way too hard, like sitting on a wood stool. Highlander is much softer though. I wonder if the XLE 4 cylinder has softer seats vs the XSE. This was a long comment but I was just triggered when I read that the JBL system is desirable, I also have a 2006 Mercedes E350 with base stereo that sounds much better, soft vocals and plenty of bass response on all frequencies.

For most Camry buyers the I4 is the smart choice which is what 90% go for. Two years ago I got a 2019 SE I4. But if you can justify the much higher initial cost plus lower fuel economy then the V6 will be smoother, stronger and more fun to drive. It's interesting the 2021 TRD front grille doesn't have the refreshed look of the 2021 XSE. It looks pretty much the same as my 2019 SE grille.

35,500 for a 4 cylinder SXE😬...love the features and the reliability but without it being turboed I see very little you could do too this car to get more power out of it.

Christina could advise me a V-12 is better than a straight four. I want to believe everything she says.

The I4 propels the heavier RAV4. There is no need for the V6. Both engines are powerful enough to put you in jail.

Both engine top speed are electronically limited to 133-136 mph.

Can someone tell me why my wives 2021 v6 xse is saying on average 280 miles remaining on full tank?she normally drives freeway 5 days a week, driving around 60 miles a day so within 2-3 days she's having to fill up again. She also doesn't have a heavy foot

    • @jstersmithson
      @jstersmithson 3 роки тому

Your not the only one I had two rentals one V4 2.5 liter XSE and one V6 3.5 liter XSE the V6 got 24 mpg on average and 283 miles on a full tank of gas. And the V4 got 35 mpg and 491 miles on a full tank while the V6 is faster. The V4 does good enough for me and they both are limited to 135 mph and now I'm not allowed to rent any more cars because I tested both Camrys to there limits I noticed the V4 handled better and felt easier to corner at high speeds.

@@jstersmithson i was wrong average a day its 35-45 miles but yeah makes no sense even if its 24mpg theres 15 gallons in the tank so should be closer to 400 if anything

4 cylinder more reliable better gas mileage. 6 cylinder quieter more refined and tranquil and way more powerful

Come on its 2021, Push start should have been standard in all models. I was considering to upgrade from '18 SE to '21 but I dont see much of a difference. Just couple more features added in safety and some cosmetics.

Thanks for posting. Toyota quality in both i4 and v6. They v6 has lots of pick up. v6 might be more expensive to maintain but the v6 maybe more durable as a daily over the i4. Not sure I'm ready to look hybrid. Thankfully Im not in the market for a Camry. Thanks for posting video. Hello North Carolina! :)

You buy a Camry for reliability and gas mileage. The V6 is not even fast due to the sluggish 8 speed.

I'm also skeptical of the HP figure of the V6. It certainly can produce those 300 hp but I doubt that's what actually end up in the wheels of a FWD vehicle.
