The warrior introduced to the WCW was great. But giving him the mic was a mistake. But the build up to Havoc was great. But to have him lose to hogan was a total letdown.
The Ultimate Warrior wore that jacket all the time in the WCW in 1998 because his biceps and triceps were torn to shreds (right off the bone). The jacket was to hide just how much his arms had atrophied (shrunk) since his WWF days.
You didn’t note that warrior tore his bicep at fall brawl and was still injured during his tag match with sting against hogan and hart. That’s why he was not in regular ring gear and didn’t do much physically.

Warrior did not run back to the ring. The Renegade was the decoy Warrior. Once he disappeared, the real deal then came to the ring. Also, he had a torn bicep that he suffered during War Games. He had bandages during the tag match with Sting. The duster (jacket) was kept on to cover it. He also said that Hogan didn't want to go over the match ahead of time.
I had heard (from friends who read a lot online & did a sports show) that Warrior was supposed to do something like 13 appearances. At the time, I had counted that it didn't get to 13 or whatever number it was. His last appearance was the day after Halloween Havoc and he told Hogan "you failed the challenge," cause Hogan cheated to win at the PPV. Jesse Ventura had just won the governor election, and Hogan's next promo became saying he was running for president. To me, it seems WCW just being WCW and not finishing a fued right. Cause a 3rd match would have made sense.
Hogan didn't move his gimmick. Bishof came up with the great idea to have him go heel. Luckily, Hogan did go along with it. (Then it would been Sting and probably bored not as cool.) However, Hogan would have loved to stay the hero for his entire career. And rhen... WCW reverted and and made Hogan face again. (Quite lame!) If Hogan cared, or had a clue, he would have said that doesn't work brother. As far as Warrior, he was just doing as told. I'm not down with the theory that WCW just copied WWF, but I will say that WCW didn't know how to evolve.
They both were never the most technical wrestlers, and having this match almost a decade later really exposed that and how all the magic was based off of their larger than life character back in the early 90s. Ah well.
For their Wrestlemania match Hogan and Warrior meticulously planned out and rehearsed the entire match with Pat Patterson before the show. That went a long way toward hiding their in-ring deficiencies.
DDP, Roddy Piper, Warrior, Kevin Nash, Sting, Lex Luger, Hogan, Bret Hart...and Stevie Ray. One of those guys isn't quite on the same level as the others.
I like the ratings battle and how viewer chose to watch the warriors return instead of raw... remember this is way back then we never knew what we were missing on the other channel
Another great episode covering an infamous time in wrestling. You should really think about doing a video on the Nitro Girls. Maybe as an April Fools episode.
I think Warrior had an injury with his biceps at the time of the Blade Runners reunion, that was why he left the jacket on. I remember reading that on the hot sheets back in the day

I always loved the Ultimate Warrior but even I used to cringe at some of his promos.
It's the same with Taker, massive fan but sometimes even the legends had an off day
Warrior was trying to do 1988 WWF in 1998 WCW, even Hogan had managed to move his gimmick on.
Hogan didn't move his gimmick.
Bishof came up with the great idea to have him go heel.
Luckily, Hogan did go along with it.
(Then it would been Sting and probably bored not as cool.)
However, Hogan would have loved to stay the hero for his entire career.
And rhen...
WCW reverted and and made Hogan face again. (Quite lame!)
If Hogan cared, or had a clue, he would have said that doesn't work brother.
As far as Warrior, he was just doing as told. I'm not down with the theory that WCW just copied WWF, but I will say that WCW didn't know how to evolve.
Hogan was proud he got his win back.
McMahon is a genius
Wrestling Bios has the power of THE ULTIMATE UA-cam CHANNEL!
It looked so awkward having Stevie Ray in the ring with the Warrior at WarGames.
DDP, Roddy Piper, Warrior, Kevin Nash, Sting, Lex Luger, Hogan, Bret Hart...and Stevie Ray.
One of those guys isn't quite on the same level as the others.
Eric Bishoff's face expression at 07:22 = Priceless...lol
As I said previously channel is amazing really lifts in spirits in lockdown
This bit is what drove me to switch from regularly watching WCW back to watching WWF
Thank you for all the videos mate 👍
Hell if I got paid $1 million for just a few appearances I wouldn't care about my performance either
Good video Wrestling Bios. I had a good time watching your videos. I hope you do another one in the future someday soon like Slick.
I like the ratings battle and how viewer chose to watch the warriors return instead of raw... remember this is way back then we never knew what we were missing on the other channel
WCW had my attention 4 a hour then after that I was jumping back & forth
the original indigenous upper class top ranks ultimate warrior is my favorite wrestler at all times 🆗☝️💯💯💯
hands down the best youtube channel going right now
Personally, I think the renegade had a better run in WCW than the Warrior did in the late 90s
At least he won the WCW Television Championship from Arn Anderson of all people.
@@Facade953 Really? The same title that Bill Goldberg beat the disco Inferno to get?…….. or was that raven?
I remember how fired up we were when he walked into WCW. then he started talking and we were laughing by the end and switching back and forth to wwf
nothing like a wrestling bio before the superbowl.. nice touch
Great video upload really enjoyed it cheers wrestling bios
Ur a national treasure. Keep it up!!
Another great episode covering an infamous time in wrestling.
You should really think about doing a video on the Nitro Girls. Maybe as an April Fools episode.
Yeah, that's actually a good idea. You could talk about Whisper marrying Shawn Micheals & Sharmell marrying Booker.
Ultimate warrior was crazy
I was a "little warrior" back in WWF but not much after 1992. I did always LOVE his jackets and I would love to have one of my own. No pun intended
I think Warrior had an injury with his biceps at the time of the Blade Runners reunion, that was why he left the jacket on. I remember reading that on the hot sheets back in the day
Crafted Pure yeah it was a bicep injury,it’s also why he worked out with a rubber hose to nurse it as much as he could,he suffered the injury in the cage match at War Games
His biceps and triceps were shot at this time in his career. Dude was a mess from all the juice.
