Very detailed review 😊 in regards to battery, I have a 4XL and I'm getting around 7 hours of on screen time. It always lasts a full day and I get a good usage out of it. The adaptive battery gets better everyday. By far the best phone out there! The best of Apple and Android combined.

....is the silliest question - It's the 4th generation device in the series. They don't really differ enough to need to be specific. The issues (excluding the battery capacity) are identical between devices. 👍
I'm a pixel 4xl user I honestly don't miss fingerprint I had s10+ before this phone and the In display fingerprint scanner was annoying the pixel is hands down the best phone I ever used
Just picked up my pixel 4xl today they only had black left but am surprised that even tho it's not the same as the white or orange it's not as big of a fingerprint magnet as you'd think
I've been using the 4XL since launch and I am coming from a 2XL (I skipped the 3 b/c of the hideous notch). I have to say that the 4XL is a HUUUGE upgrade from the 2XL. Performance is undeniably better, the display is beautiful and of course, the camera is again one of the best ever. As far as battery life is concerned that is always going to be subjective to each individual user's usage of their device, ie location/GPS, Bluetooth, etc. I have been getting excellent battery life myself. Easily getting 5.5 - 6 hrs SOT and a full days use out of a full charge. Unless I play games for like 3-4 hrs straight which I sometimes do when traveling on the train/bus. Then my battery will discharge MUCH FASTER of course. But, the onboard fast charge, as well as wireless charge, make topping up a breeze. The design seems fine to me given there is NO NOTCH and the black/white panda look is still alive and well with the matte black side rails, the black camera module and matte white finish! It is still very much the Pixel design language imho. Then the addition of the 6GB makes loading apps and ram management much better! The 90hz display and motion sense are just added bonuses to me. I won't die without a 90hz panel but it's nice to have. And this panel is much much better than the Pixel 2XL. And the feel of the design is out of this world. This has to be the best feeling phone in hand I have ever owned. It feels like a cool slab of marble. Industrial, minimal and utilitarian.... I really enjoy the design quite a bit! This is what a "premium" device should feel like in your hands. It's hard to explain the feeling of a phone in hand but, I promise, it's just really nice! It has some heft to it also. It's not heavy but, you know you're carrying it..
I'm using the 2xl. Had the 6p before this. But I'm not sure if I should get the 4xl or wait for the next one bec of the battery. I love Google phones and their cameras more than any other, and I've used all. I'm confused af.
can i ask you a question? - the pixel 4 camera is upgrade and more good quality on the photos and videos, over the pixel 2xl ? - what is the difference of two cameras in general ? :)
You have to physically touch the person and HOPE that you chose the correct finger. Most people will wake up in an instant from being touched while sleeping. Other reviewers aren't Pixel fanboys trying to justify such an idiotic mistake.
Y'all some idiots man like c'mon now who the hell gone grab your finger to unlock your phone like pixel fans just admit the face unlock is super flawed
true , but it is a lot easier and zero risk for someone to just swipe the the phone past your face than it is too grab your finger and stick it on the fps (duh ). No getting around it , it is a flawed system , get over it .

My GalaxyS20 broke so I bought a Pixel 4 for $170 mint with no box and might actually stay on it after I fix the S20. I've never felt a more comfortable phone to hold! The battery life is OK, it got better after a few days of use
well said... I really like pixel phones and was looking for a honest review rather than a "a few days review" with a borrowed unit then throws battery life to people, its easy to be frustrated with features that you don't really understand affecting some factors after all pixel is the fastest phone to get a software update, with that you earn my subscription bro. Keep it up.
Thank you so much for your excellent reviews and unbiased advice on mobile phones - yours is the go-to channel for a well produced, honest review. I am thinking that maybe this Pixel 4 review did not require you to repeat honest 10 times though - mate your viewers can see you are honest by the quality of all your reviews! Your Australian accent is a refreshing change from the multitude of other cell phone reviewers! Looking forward to more from your channel.
The one annoyance I have with this phone is that it overheats too quickly. When I go out to take some photos on a bright day, the phone will always pop up a message saying that the phone is too hot and some features may not work. This is very annoying!
Really really nice review! You nailed it! And finally... 21:9 ratio support! So nice watching this on my 38inch Acer in Full screen without any black bars :D
This is my first Pixel phone. I have Pixel 4 regular 128GB. However, I have used Nexus one to four and I left Nexus line because I wanted something more premium. I came back to Google Phone because I am done with the spec list. I am all about experience. I have used multiple Notes, Galaxy and OnePlus. OnePlus is the only one that came close to actually offer something that is useful for me. Out of all the spec, no matter what they promised, they just don't matter to me. I like speed and I only use a few apps on my phone. Speed and smoothness is what I care about. Only thing I dislike about my Pixel 4 is the battery life. Then again, I expected that and have fast wireless chargers all around me. I have never used any phone I owned as much as I am using Pixel 4 now. It is something about that small form factor and experience that is way better than any phones I have ever used. If Oneplus sells phone in Pixel 4 regular size, I will move back to OnePlus. I don't like Samsung TouchWizard and One experience compared to Pixel and Oxygen. I know Pixel isn't loved by much but I guess to each and their own.
There’s no amount of regret in me for subscribing for this channel. Great content. Most importantly, the real review. Real talk. Factual. The reviewer that actually experience the phone throughly instead of testing it for couple of days and already trying to find anything wrong with it.
Great review! I bought a Pixel 4 for my wife for Christmas. I was still on the fence about it.. It was either the Pixel or a Galaxy s10. After watching your review I feel better about the Pixel. Thank you Sam.
great facts! I love my current Pixel 2 XL still and to this day still fully functional, smooth and way better camera than any other smartphones I've used. Can't wait to upgrade to this.
I like mine, which I've had for about a week. Came from a Pixel 2. I hear it's not exactly better than competition, but I value the Pixel software experience more than I envy the aesthetics or specs of other devices. Plus the special hardware was immediately useful, I was using gestures for music day one, and I was accustomed to face unlock even more quickly. Probably within minutes.
Just stumbled across this video, and damn I wish UA-cam had of recommended you before now. It's great to get an honest review, and have it in an Aussie accent. I've used every pixel since it first launched, and have never experienced the issues in any of them that were previously reported, but the decision to put the small battery almost turned me off the phone. Almost, the camera is well worth the phone.
Still amazed that professional reviewers always label their videos with the regular version of the phone then review the XL or plus model of the phone.

Thank you for the nice review. My Pixel 2XL still works great, battery etc., this review makes me think I'll wait for the next cycle to upgrade. Not sure a 4 is worth the $$$. But, if my 2 breaks, then I guess I'm in. Thanks again.
Only just found this channel, and I really like it- new sub. I'm glad you're not just saying that the phone is trash like all the other UA-camrs out there
I took the plunge after seeing this review. Good on ya mate. Felt like the most bonafide review, and so far the phone is great with my average "everyday" use.
A very well thought out and informative video. I have a Pixel 3A cell phone which is my first Pixel that I have owned. I'm thinking of upgrading to a Pixel 4XL for the updated camera. I'm trying to decide if I should get the 4XL or the 4A XL.... Regards, Duane
In all honesty, I probably wouldn't upgrade just for the camera, as the telephoto lens is the only real upgrade, and you can already get great zoomed in photos on the 3A. I'd consider waiting for the 5XL later this year, which will hopefully have a wide angle lens as well 👌🏻
I just don't want a phone with a curved display or even more extrem display that go to the side! The Pixel 4 has an awesome design and I really like that it doesn't go with all of the newest trends. Having them develop on more important things like Software and new improved Hardware-features is way better. Who knows? One day we might even have that Soli-chip as a new standard implemented into everything, no more touch needed. But hey, a phone 360 screen is more important... *eyeroll*
@@GramoCFC I haven't handled an iPhone in years, so it would be difficult for me to compare. Plus, I general keep my phone's display at a low brightness level. I can say it is a huge improvement over Pixel 2 XL.

I really appreciate your honesty review. I'm a P4XL user as of today. I continue to be loyal to the brand because of its simplicity. Keep up the good work.
I'm coming from a regular Pixel 2 to a Pixel 4 XL and to me it just blows my mind! The camera is unreal in comparison to what I already thought was a damn good experience. Had a lot of people tell me I was going to regret going to this phone but a month in and I'm still in love. I do really miss the finger print sensor on the back though.
THANK YOU for mentioning the loophole in fingerprint scanners. People just need something to complain about. And talking about other "popular" UA-camrs, they're used to having the best of the best every time a new device comes out, and never use the device for a longer period of time. Most of the complains they make are fixed by getting used to your device.
The production quality of this video is on par with channels that have millions of subscribers. I can see you easily reaching those large numbers mate! Keep doing what you're doing!
I've been rocking mine without a case tossing it around in my cup holders or the storage area by the radio. I havent noticed a single bit of chipping being vibrated around in a car or sliding around either because of train tracks and such. Looks brand new after 3 weeks still. My iPhone and note all had scratches over the back of the phone though micro in size they were there and this one hasn't suffered the same fate in the same time.
@@GavinSteiner honestly phones are quite durable in my opinion it really all depends on how it falls. I've seen an iPhone hit asphalt numerous times and never crack. But then I've seen them hit a table leg and shatter to hell. All depends on how it fell for the most part. To me it's character anyways dents chips and scratches.
Finally a honest reviewer who actually used the phone and just didnt use it for a few days and then bashed it for battery life ...

Thank you for the nice review. My Pixel 2XL still works great, battery etc., this review makes me think I'll wait for the next cycle to upgrade. Not sure a 4 is worth the $$$. But, if my 2 breaks, then I guess I'm in. Thanks again.
Thank you for an honest review! I'll be getting a Pixel 4 XL very soon. 😊
Only just found this channel, and I really like it- new sub. I'm glad you're not just saying that the phone is trash like all the other UA-camrs out there
@@DJMMLJ why do you hate it?
Honestly, the best review so far on Pixel 4 series
I love this finally someone giving a fair review of the pixel 4s.. they might not be the best but I definelty love where they are headed...
I took the plunge after seeing this review. Good on ya mate. Felt like the most bonafide review, and so far the phone is great with my average "everyday" use.
It’s 200 off everywhere right now practically so it’s at at that price point well worth it
link?
Google Store
@@JKTaylor115 it's only $100 & $150
But best buy's $200 w/ activaation
4/15/2020, it's $300 off. That's a deal!
Frank Sz yeah, it’s a great phone for 500. I’m thinking of going in on it even tho it has a lot of drawbacks
A very well thought out and informative video. I have a Pixel 3A cell phone which is my first Pixel that I have owned. I'm thinking of upgrading to a Pixel 4XL for the updated camera. I'm trying to decide if I should get the 4XL or the 4A XL....
Regards,
Duane
In all honesty, I probably wouldn't upgrade just for the camera, as the telephoto lens is the only real upgrade, and you can already get great zoomed in photos on the 3A. I'd consider waiting for the 5XL later this year, which will hopefully have a wide angle lens as well 👌🏻
YOU ARE AWESOME ....💚💚💚💚💚
I just don't want a phone with a curved display or even more extrem display that go to the side!
The Pixel 4 has an awesome design and I really like that it doesn't go with all of the newest trends. Having them develop on more important things like Software and new improved Hardware-features is way better.
Who knows? One day we might even have that Soli-chip as a new standard implemented into everything, no more touch needed.
But hey, a phone 360 screen is more important... *eyeroll*
This is the best pixel 4 review I've ever seen. Well, mainly because of that accent. Great job!
After watching this review, I realised google’s not so smart with their marketing for the pixel 4 XL. Such a shame since it’s a great phone
And have they even attempted to correct the premeditated misinformation...because (besides minor battery gripe) my Pixel 4 is great.
@@dually81 How's the display compared to an iPhone if you could compare?
@@GramoCFC I haven't handled an iPhone in years, so it would be difficult for me to compare. Plus, I general keep my phone's display at a low brightness level. I can say it is a huge improvement over Pixel 2 XL.
@@GramoCFC I had chance to us my son 11 pro Max for a week before my pixel 4 came in IMO I feel the pixel has just as good of display as the 11 Pro Max
Best review yet, not just ragging on it and being honest from a typical users standpoint
I always love the minimalist design of the Pixel phones
You my friend just earned a new subscriber. You had some valid points that I could agree. Watching this from Pixel 4 XL
You earned a new Subscriber! Great review I was getting sick of people hating on the Pixel 4. I went to Best Buy to play with it and wow definitely a way better experience in person and it's lighting fast and smooth
Upgraded from pixel 2, don't regret it
I have to totally agree with you on how Google should of sold this phone a year or two ago would of been so much better.
They should have kept the fingerprint scanner and doubled the storage options.
@@wllmrkhm I honestly don't mind face ID I think it was more natural I think it will be better when app developers use face ID on there apps for banking etc will be better.
@@Neil_Sarg face ID is cool and all but there's no reason to remove the fingerprint scanner
really good review mate, im subscribing, keep the good work
A little Matt Corby never hurt nobody neither. Rainbow Valley is a really fun record. Great review also
Great review Sam! Keep up the good work! Love that you shoot your videos in ultrawide format
the best review so far. I have pixel 4 for one-month too and couldn't verbalize better than this
Well you just helped me pick my next phone! Thank you for the FANTASTIC video!
I'm glad a UA-camr finally pointed out about the eyes closed face unlock. 100% much bigger issues if your worried about that xD and mornings I'm so tired my eyes are barely open it makes it much easier to unlock
a very clear and detailed review, your speaking skills are sharp and professional. thank you
Imagine this phone with 4000 battery power ....🔥🔥🔥
I really appreciate your honesty review. I'm a P4XL user as of today. I continue to be loyal to the brand because of its simplicity. Keep up the good work.
I was concerned about the brightness. How is it?
@@romad1978 I really can't tell a difference from my pixel 2XL
I was watching in full screen and it took me a min to realize this was actually filling up my whole screen. Thank you for ultrawide
How about If Google add wide angle option and improve battery performance on the next pixel phone ?
I'm coming from a regular Pixel 2 to a Pixel 4 XL and to me it just blows my mind! The camera is unreal in comparison to what I already thought was a damn good experience. Had a lot of people tell me I was going to regret going to this phone but a month in and I'm still in love. I do really miss the finger print sensor on the back though.
How about the brightness? Is it an issue?
I don't want to be there the first time you drop it :)
Im using my tablet to watch this
While using my Pixel 4 XL
Battery life. It is actually very good. Disable smooth display and motion sense and the battery life improves greatly.
