      Their lineup is definitely small and they are the upcoming (they didn't innovate for decades nor did they try to sell worlwide) that's why I said upcoming) company compared to globally established ones.

    RE is not a small manufacturer or small player in the motorcycle industry. They are nearing one million bikes produced in a year. As RE continues to evolve some of their products, they will become a bigger player in the states. Currently in he US, they are not mainstream... They are simple, appealing, well made bikes that are more premium than many that cost considerably more. My garage seems to sprout a new RE every six months or so. Of all the bikes I have owned, from HD, Yamaha, Honda, etc... the RE's are my favorite to own and ride. The Classic 350 REborn has some odd mojo than I can not explain. I can not ride that bike enough. Royal Enfield is doing something I do not see from any other motorcycle company... it's as if they have created a new class of bikes "budget premium"

    Thanks for covering this. Glad to hear it has a 31” seat height and foot pegs that are mid-mounted vs the Super Meteor’s lower seat height and forward mounted controls. I have the Classic 350 and the seating position is very good for me and the Shotgun looks similar. Glad it’s already in the US as well…we often have to wait another year after a new RE release

      My mate is interested in the Shotgun the blue or green one if it arrives in NZ 🇳🇿 in the next 4-5months otherwise be a Celestial Green Super Meteor.
      I got a email today from RE NZ 🇳🇿 saying that they're taking Pre-orders for the Himmy 450 which arrives in March.I also
      got a email last week saying the new Interceptor/GT Dark models have arrived & for sale so hopefully not to long for Shotgun.The new Interceptor/ GT would've been better if they put 41mm Showa forks in them that would've been awesome.

    Yes, it's heavy and there was a time that "creating your own niche" was a major gamble, but at this point RE aren't creating their own niche, they're leaning heavily into the global niche they created and others are tying to break into.

      @@aaronleverton4221 As global constriction bites, I think more people will go for cost effective options and fuel efficient bikes, maybe HD can pull the rabbit out of the hat with its new engines, but it may have left it too late. The Chinese are coming ( not that I want this) but they will do to the market what the Japanese did in the 70s

    • @aaronleverton4221
      @aaronleverton4221 5 місяців тому

      @@motechRevolution I think the "too late" for HD was about 20-odd years ago. They started it with the water-cooled, but they didn't have the courage to go all-in and I can't really blame them. Like Corvette and Land Rover they were locked into a specific image. Try something different and meet pushback from their traditional sales base. (I really don't like the new Defender) But, by sticking with what the dinosaurs liked they were fencing themselves off from the future.
      Then they tried something radical with their E-bike venture and the shareholders screamed blue murder. There's a point at which you just have to feel sorry for HD as the only manufacturer even older than them drives the nails into their coffin.
      Anyway, RE exist in a world (South Asia,/South-East Asia/East Asia) where step-through/underbones Supercub clones rule and they are making strides there.

    • @motechRevolution
      @motechRevolution 5 місяців тому

      @@aaronleverton4221 I think you are totally on point. It will be interesting how things pan out. I can't see Jochen Zeitz, pulling HD out of the mess it's in, no more than Land rover competing with other more innovative brands. A whole new world of interesting possibilities.

    All Royal Enfields are built to withstand Indian riding conditions, these bikes with a dual seat are used as an mpv on there own territory, it wouldn’t be unusual to see dad,mum, two kids and a baby out for a ride, that’s why they’re built strong.

    • @daakuredpanda5782
      @daakuredpanda5782 5 місяців тому +1

      Well, Royal Enfields in India are not the cutting edge of technology but they are built solid with heavy robust and repairable parts. They do last a long long time and are easier to fix and even restore. That is what saved them from the Japanese mosquito onslaught in the 80s and 90s. I believe they are never going to drop this. Else they would be just another manufacturer.
