Yes. This design is really bad. At least they should provide a dedicated hook for suspension. Removing and attaching should be a matter of 3 minute tasks even for non-mechanical people with minimal tools.
well. I would not trust on a quick release. specially if my wife is on the back sit. so I gess we need to ballance safe and convenience and this sollution is convenient enough.
I tried as per the DIY video to remove the pillion seat and frame with the Royal Enfield toolkit but not able to unscrew the bolts of the frame and 14mm spanner given by RE toolkit has broken, the bolts are very tight and not as per the torque mentioned in the video. Also, Royal Enfield must improve the quality of nuts and bolts for ShotGun and Super Meteor 650 segments since for this bike cost, these segments must have quality nuts and bolts, the threads are getting slipped for being so tight.
A tightening torque of 50nM on the shock absorbers, can you confirm? We sometimes see tightening torques of 18 nM on some videos. And could you give us the torque value for the bottom nut ? Thanks.
This bike is beautiful but, imo the seat setup ruins the look. I plan on buying it and changing the seat right away. Does anyone know if theres a subframe under the rear fender and if it can support a pillion seat without the rack?
Be happy that they engineered it to be able to remove the pillion seat support. Most bikes don't allow it and cutting the frame makes the bike "illegal" in Europe.
@@superleggenda thank you bro for your knowledge, i guess royal enfiled made bike for engg. and not common people who want easier things or maybe people should first think what is possilbe then demand as we invent first then create need for it not otherway around
@@superleggenda bro i totally understood your point about bike frame and all that my point to comment is for RE to make it more simpler in next design/bike not for other to defend RE, RE as a indian brand we often give them feedback by doing mods to RE, i have already made a classic 350 in bobber style with a fold seat although not practical for heavy weight it works and this design is good but i still stick to my point not simple for a common man and that is my feedback no matter what others say and being a indian brand we indians always demand more from our brands in cheap price so kinda hard wired that way. if you still want to treat others like noob pls go ahead.
Looking at the video, nut only needs to be loosened. Subframe is slotted for quick removal. I wouldn’t think doing this occasionally would affect chassis integrity. Always torque up as required though, not just tighten.
Where is sissy bar for rear seat? The kid will fly off. Shotgun is such a disappointment after waiting for it. It weights 240 KGs, are you try to hit a world heavy weight record ? I would go for interceptor when it gets USD suspension.
Royal Enfield, first you do a poor design for the rack removal and then you think doing a video like this will help?? Your definition of DIY is very different from most people. Do a rethink on the design before you put a new iteration of the bike on the production floor.
Suspension should have been placed on screw that is holding the rear cowl and vice versa... Ye sach mein kisi reservation ke chode ne design kiya hai bike
Naa, come on.... you re right. BUT: I am happy that they provide these solution in the bike and make it possible for Beginner AND show it on a video. You ll never find that service from Honda Yamaha, Triumph, Kawasaki. They even dont use Screws. They use Single-use-Plastik-Pins. And its almost not possible to customize it for your own. Enfield always use easy-to-find-Screws in every part of the bikes. So thank you R.E-
Excellent short vid showing the versatility of the bike. Nice that a luggage rack is already there beneath the pillion seat.
A quick release would have been much better... we motorcyclists would have appreciated this solution.

Love the flexibility to do this but it’s seems a bit much to assemble and reassemble, hope someone makes a kit for this
Work accomplished with so much delicacy that it's much better to watch it in 2x speed.. you are welcome by the way..
Don't listen to the whining here.
This is definitely doable even my beginners. Cheers to Enfield creating a bike which can do so may cool things
Stupido chi non rispetta la giusta torsione! Tutti dovrebbero avere una chiave dinamometrica. E se non ce l'hai, fattela prestare per mezz'ora.
What about the torque wrench?

I would also place a cloth under the subframe as the front bolts are removed. This will protect the rear mudguard from scratches.
DONT YOU THINK THE SHOTGUN 650 EVN LOOKS BETTER WITH PILLION SEAT? OR WHITHOUT PILLION SEAT IT LOOKS GOOD?
@@Rahitranjan1 I think it looks better without the pillion seat and frame.
If this come with Super meteror 650 seat and with hunter grab handle, It would look awesome !!🔥🔥
Something like the after market Jawa setup would have been so much easier where the pillion seat hides underneath front
Sg 650 Rear seat frame just looking like a after market frame, RE also provide another option for the rear seat
Parabéns Royal Enfield belas maquinas, espero que o modelo Shotgun venha para o Brasil.

Muito trabalhoso para retirar e recolocar o assento traseiro, pensava que era mais simples mas não é.

I got the answer, the tightening torque is between 40 and 50 nM, or approximately 45nM.

I think we will manage in one seat 😘
To start off we won't even have an Allen key ..Where will we go for a torque wrench?
Go to service center
Ask for tool kit when you do pdi for delivery
you buy yourself
you should have at least a set of tools for your bike
Can you please make more complicated
😂😂
I even dropped the plan of buying it after watching this video 😅
Be happy that they engineered it to be able to remove the pillion seat support.

Be better if it came with chrome spoked rims and a chrome and polished aluminium engine version like my 2020 classic 500.
Why aren't you making anything for interceptor ?😶
Is there a way to lower the seat height ?
meteor 350 के लिए भी rear लगेज फ्रेम है क्या????????
I am thinking of getting one of these, bute this whole procedure seems too much. A quick realse would be better.
Itne me to maholle ke log gher jayenge... Bhai ye kya kardiya bike ko 😮
Non vedo l'ora di avere una Shotgun650 per fare ciò che è detto qui. 😜
Does the Shotgun single seat fit the Super Meteor 650 with solo seat finisher?
Very very simple 😂
Back rest is available for the model ?
Not yet
We need scram 450 in 1 week only we are big fans of that bike i can beat hunter 😢🙏🙏🙏💓💕💕
Is coming as Roadster
@@blackskunk54 ya that only
See. Its that simple 😂😂
great way to damage suspension and safety of rider, should have given a simpler way which does not involve suspension screws

isn't it a disaster??
There is a model that does not have the rack and pillion installed, why hassle making this model a single seater and removing the rack?
The motorcycle is too heavy, didn't you learn from the Super Meteor? Besides you should have provided an easier way.
Am i the only one who can see the spelling of Arrangement as ARRANGEMNET😅

Nice (slow) film with horrible music. You don't need to add that. This film could do just as good without.
Should have provided a much easier way... this is way too tedious ...
