A big "Ice Man" hit from 1969, that Jerry composed with Gamble and Huff....produced by Thom Bell and Bobby Martin....all Philly's BEST! Hope you like the stretch...the original arrangement limited my possibilities BUT I was able to give you the unedited ending that I worked from.
i am a big fan of Jerry Butler still listening 2024 i am 82 love you Phil all my life
The Incomparable, Jerry Butler! Literally! Music to my ears!!!😎
😲 I remember the Great Jerry Butler! I think he put this song on the map! One of my favorite vocalist and the band, good melody and drum beat! Made USA history! 🇺🇲
No one else can sing this song like him!!
Elvis sang a great version 🙂
I loved this @15 yrs old, when it came out, & still do in 2021 ❤
God I love this music and era 😇😇😇😇😇🤗🤗🤗🤗🥰🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️
This is what u call a flashback!& if u were around when this came out...the u know only the strong survive!
The Ice Man cometh! What an incredible talent. And you too, Mosogotam, your new extended version is so good! Thank you again, you have excellent taste in music and bring to us wonderful, improved favorites from long ago.
Quentin....thanks so much to you!!!!
John, I always loved your choice of songs to extend but you made me very happy with the recent Jerry Butler stuff.
I always considered him to be one of the most underrated and underappreciated artists of the R 'n R era.
Thanx again pal.
Thanks so much, Mike!!!
Mike Smith. Well said Mike!!!
I bought the album when it came out. That’s how much I dug the “ice man”...thanks John

The Butler Did It! One of my favorites always..... Still got the 45, but it doesn't sound as good as your extension! Right ON!!
Great Double Down on the "climax",then the clarity of the lead in to it in the background! I've been kind of unconsciously wanting something like that for a long time.
Joseph....many thanks to you!!!
You kill this jam
My father loved this song I remember hearing it alot growing up. Life is a mystery and I never will understand this thing that we call love....
You are the real deal
Thank you sooooo much … #1 R&B #4 Pop million seller … exceptional stretch based on a truly difficult arrangement. Great Job!!! P.S. point of information; actually Jerry Butler's "Never Gonna Give You Up" is the last top hit from the Gamble-Huff era that hasn't been stretched.
Thanks, Pamela!!! Well...alright....will do!!!
What a fantastic version my friend.
Thank YOU, my friend!!!
One song that reminds me of the 60's. A true golden oldie.😉😎
Yep..big hit on 1600 WWRL in NYC during my youth. A teaching song back when the two-parent family was a norm!...which is still relevant...teach your kids today this! without using guns! Sounds like what my Moms said especailly at the vamp to fade!
I love the originals the ice man JB.
❤💜💕❤️🙏🏽
Menace 2 Society brought me here!
Job Very Well Done..
QQ...many many thanks!!
Great singer - familiar with the Billy Paul version but this is good too.
Great Job
Thanks so much, Anita!!!
Morris Chestnut could play a young Mr. Butler in a movie. Looks are close.
My neighbor Mr Moore was a Baptist minister and a carbon copy of this man. RIP Mr Moore.
and to have strength one must have carbon just as The Creator created black with wooly hair that’s the standard of humanity
