Gap Between Dirt and The Edge of My House?!?!

- It is HOT in North Texas and homeowners are starting to see not only cracks in their yards but many are seeing the dirt pull away from the edge of the house. We promise the concrete isn't moving it is the SOIL. Soil in North Texas has a high clay content. Therefore when it is hot and dry the soil shrinks, when it rains the soil expands. Best thing you can do now is setup soaker hoses and properly begin watering the foundation of your home. We DO NOT recommend adding dirt or putting a hose in the cracks. These tactics and cause other issues. If you have any questions, drop them in the comments.

Were in Poolville, TX, about an hour West of Fort Worth. How much would it be for y'all to install a drip irrigation system around my 1400 sq ft home to prevent the soil from shrinking further?
Appreciate the video! We have a deck on the back side of the house, should I watering the soil under the deck or should I water around the deck? Also should I water the soil along the driveway on the front of the house? Many thanks
you don’t need to worry about the deck or front of the house which they covered and protected from the sun heat “it will not dry like the soil around the house” more likely you need to water the soil and grass by the foundation with no shade
