That has to be the most demoralizing thing in the world.... you're working your hardest, giving it everything you've got, then some dude blows past you chatting on a GoPro as if it's a light stroll in the park! Haha! I love it! 😂
Pissing me off about running some people are just natural.. I bench press 320lbs/145kg when I was 19 with no much training ... yet I bleed 45min 10k ...
Imagine giving it everything you got, sweating balls and then this guy casually jogs past you whilst filming, talking and cheering hahaha. Well done sir!
Running with a go pro, literally taking the Mic(hael). Would love to hate you. Can't. Impossible. You bring such enthusiasm to the whole experience it's inspirational. Hats of mate.
"This is what runnings all about. Forget about those guys at the front of the field. These guys are working full time jobs, out in all weather, training around child care, just out grinding away hoping for their dream to happen." So motivating! Love it.
Wow. Congratulations. 3.40 is your conversational pace!! Oh my gosh. If you run in any FM event at my country, you are already a champion. unbeatable champion.
Watching you run a 2:35 while vlogging made me question my existence, thanks for the needed motivation to get after it !!!! My current PB is 2:45 & I really want to go sub 2:30
I mean 2:48 ain't too shabby lol. Anything sub 3 is pretty hardcore and defiantly advanced level. Good job! You must take running pretty seriously. I hope to just run a single marathon some day. For me a sub 4 would probably bring me to tears lol. Anyways, hope you keep pushing yourself. Good luck!
I’ve ran it 6 times and they were pretty much the best moments of my life and my amateur sporting career absolutely loved it - 2:57 my PB but wow - you are amazing 2:35 with a Go Pro ! Legend !
Damn! My PR marathon is 3:48 and I was pretty pumped about that! 2:35 is incredible!!! How do you sustain such s fast pace for that long!?!! I’m impressed!!
WHAT THE HELL! My fastest 5k race was around 21 minutes and you're telling me he can run ths first 5 kilometers in 18 MINUTES while talking on a GoPro.
First time I've seen one of your videos, and I'm a new fan! I ran my 20th London last Sunday, this time in memory of my Dad, along with my sister and our partners. It really is the greatest race in the world. Keep up the good work!
20TH LONDON! Wow, get you Marc. I'm sure that was such a special day for you all.. what a lovely thing to do to remember your Dad. All the best and happy running!
Fantastic video. Got emotional watching it hearing the crowds and the drums. Great to see this event from this perspective. Thanks for sharing and well done 💪
Okay so a longer than usual comment... The first marathon I ran was London 2018. Before my run, I kept looking for a decent video of someone running the marathon and couldn’t find anything. I found a few for New York but nothing but a time lapse for London! So you have no idea how many people you’re actually helping by putting this content out. Secondly, this video brought back all the exact memories that I have of London - 5k, 10k at Cutty Sark, Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf (painful!), run dem crew, and the finish. That incredible finish! Literally the best in the world... Thirdly, Ben your production quality is so good mate! Love the sound, edits, overlays. So so good man and such great progress from when you started videos. I always thought we needed someone like the ginger runner for the UK. And I think we might just have one!
Thank you for all the kind words. When I started making videos about 11 months ago it was completely from scratch.. I had to teach myself everything. So it's really nice to hear how you think they are improving. I had the same problem.. and could only find that time lapse video video, but nothing that showed the incredible atmosphere. Hope your running is going well! All the best :-)
Amazing Ben!! Forget about that GoPro thing... . I loved the way you managed to keep talking and smiling to the end! Great inspiration, mate! Keep it up!
Wow, I'm blown away how easy you made that look posting a 2:35 while chatting away, not even out of breath. What a great video for us all to enjoy. May be if you put the video down and put in some effort you could be the first man to sub 2 hours :) Nice one.
Oh man Ben WOW......so I tried to break 3 yesterday, but after 30k leg started cramping and I was thinking about this video, it helped me keep positive mindset. Eventhough I didnt do it, I love running and you show this passion perfectly....you are incredible
Hey Ben. Flew in from Canada to run the London last weekend. What a blast!! The atmosphere was brilliant and the crowds were so supportive. I struggled in the last half with some aches in my right leg, but finished! Thanks for letting me relive it through your video. You’re such a positive energy.
Hey Paul. Hope you had a great stay in London! The atmosphere is incredible for sure and really makes a difference.. the crowds really get you round. Congratulations on your finish, well done!!
That was an epic video man, love how you're just chatting away and having a blast out there. Keep up the good work with your channel. Greetings from Los Angeles
Well done Ben. Very impressive time even whilst talking. Mini marathon was decent for me. Ran 17.25 for 3 miles but sadly left my running hat at home so did not run in it. I saw you and cheered you on between New Scotland Yard and Big Ben. Very well done!!!!!
Ben - I was getting a bit emotional for you watching this! Congrats on a fabulous run. I did the Hamburg Marathon on Sunday and took 11mins off my PB and qualified for a Boston! Sooo happy with that and all of those months of training....the miles that nobody else gets to see... was totally worth it. As you say....hoping to catch a dream!!!!
My prediction for your time was 2:19. And I was just right! I didn’t know that you were going to run filming, chatting or stopping for your lady! You ‘re a fantastic runner, Ben! Congratulations to you and to all London people who got out that day. Well done!
It was a great day and everything lined up for me. Ran a 6 minute PR and BQ with a 7 minute buffer. Absolutely loved the flat course, weather and the crowd. Run Tower Bridge was magical. Thanks for letting me remove the experience. Boston here I come! Booyaa!!!
Mate: liked, subscribed and now a comment: AMAZED at how you kept smiling the whole time. And how non exhausted you appeared! One thing, and no disrespect to your beautiful face, but the best bit for me was when you turned the gopro around on tower bridge; I felt I was there! Maybe next year, do it with the gopro on your head facing forwards. For us to get more of that amazing atmosphere!
Subbed, main reason how positive your attitude is and uplifting your vids are. Running a Marathon let alone doing it holding a gopro, talking and SMILING.
"Work hard and you can be here". Man thats my dream! I have to work for it! Just run 2 half marathons since i start running (last 9 months) and yes, my dream is one day to be able to run the London Marathon. Greetings from Cyprus, Limassol!! :)
You’re an inspiration Ben. Following your plan and advice I’ve gone from struggling to run 5k to running a 3:58 in my first ever marathon. This video brings it all back as well... what a day!!
Carina Livsey hey Carina! I started a plan from Ben in January and started running in October. I managed to run it in 3:58! If you follow a plan you can do the same... or better!!
You made it like a breeze. Running Ultras and have not ran a marathon for quite some time? No problem. You smiled all the way thru your run. Good job bro!
The faces of the people you overtake, whilst carrying a go-pro and talking to the camera! :) Poor buggers. I ran a 3:45 and felt like I'd won the thing. I'm in awe of you guys up at the front!!
London looks super fun. I'm in my last year of university now, so I'm hoping to burst onto the marathon scene in 2020-2021 maybe I'll do London. That would be a blast
Pure enjoyment… Loved watching the smile on your face and the passion that you have for the sport. Awesome thank you for always sharing your videos and journey!
I’ve just preordered your hat, I don’t normally buy merch, especially as this is the first video I’ve seen of yours but your attitude is amazing and has just sold it to me!
Awesome video Ben, it really came across the pure joy of the day and also gave us sub 4 runners a taste of whats its like at the sharp end, keep up all the great content, on to the next adventure :-), well done Ben.
Bloody hell, a marathon in 2 and a half hours at conversation pace and smiling throughout. You're some man, great achievement. It looks like a great race. Seems they mess it up though by having the finish line in a fairly subdued crowd spot.
Ben Parkes would love it mate! Got Newport marathon this weekend where I’m hoping for the gfa time so 🤞this by the way is the best London video I’ve seen so far!
I just passed 10k with 40min. I'm happy as hell. And I know many people are better but... U run whole marathon with pace like 10k 36min. You run with gopro. Chatting. I'm jealous. You're beast. Congratz! Great video! Love it. Think about doing tips for 10k.
That has to be the most demoralizing thing in the world.... you're working your hardest, giving it everything you've got, then some dude blows past you chatting on a GoPro as if it's a light stroll in the park! Haha! I love it! 😂
Google Phone 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Just thought the same.... ;-)))
@@ubsteige6916 Me too!
That guy in blue shirt at 4:02 was thinking exactly that
Anyone who has done any form of long distance running will know how impressive this guy is!
SinnigoTV yep this is very impressive I run miles and I can’t talk he’s running really good times AND talking
Yes absolutely amazing.. He can talk comfortably with that crazy pace 3:40 min/km
tell me about it, his 10k time is worse than my 5k by only like 5 minutes LOL it just shows how much work i need to put into my training
@@Vizzu Haha same; my 5K PB is just shy of 24 minutes 😄👍🏼; 10K PB is 53 minutes 😄👍🏼
35 minute 10k whilst pissing about with a go pro.... That's ridiculous.
DEPRESSING
And then he ran another 32k smiling and talking to a go pro! Fantastic!!!
Quicker than my 5k time haha
Pissing me off about running some people are just natural.. I bench press 320lbs/145kg when I was 19 with no much training ... yet I bleed 45min 10k ...
Nah it took me to the weather
You run 2:35 with a go pro and chatting??????
I know, eh. I'm in awe. Incredible.
Same that's unbelievable effort and enjoin every bit of it next year u will be giving no.farah a run for money
Lol I was going to say the same thing!!!
I KNOW! and he's like, "meh coulda done better" - CANT RELATE
Can prolly ez 2:15 with 0 gear
Never knew I’d see someone casually run a 2:35 marathon.
Pretty much anyone who is in shape to run a 2:25 should be able to "casually" run a 2:35
Wow that extra 10min makes that big difference?
@@willvaya yeah a huge difference
You made those 42 k look so fun. You are amazing
all smiles
That's what social media and editing is all about...
Mate you're unreal 3:36/km with a GoPro and commentary ! Awesome!
I can only run like 2K at this pace LOL
I can't even run 1k with this pace. Unbelievable, but very fun to watch!
"This is what runnings all about. Forget about those guys at the front of the field. These guys are working full time jobs, out in all weather, training around child care, just out grinding away hoping for their dream to happen." So motivating! Love it.
He’s not just fast, he’s got a big heart
Am I the only one that feels like running a marathon after watching this?
Yes.
Right! He made it look so easy lol
No
Wow. Congratulations. 3.40 is your conversational pace!! Oh my gosh. If you run in any FM event at my country, you are already a champion. unbeatable champion.

Yeah. On the one hand I'm totally motivated to train harder, on the other hand I just want to quit this hobby/sport :-/.
4:38:37 1st marathon and it was incredible. Atmosphere and crowds were amazing.
Doing something hard is one thing, making the hard look easy is another level
I ran 2:48 and felt pretty strong for the first 2 hours but WOW you make 5:55 pace look sooo easy haha
Linkmon99 I thought I was pretty good because I could keep that pace for a 5K 🤣🤣
It’s also impressive because he does that while he chats and vlogs
why are you everywhere i am now, i quit roblox a while back and you were like richest and now you are interested in marathons and stuff xd

Just searched for this too! Turns out she didn't finish...
Running the first 5k in 18:00 so casually and talking with no short of breath is about as depressing as it gets.
