Thanks for sharing this how-to. It was clear and easy to follow (good job).
A couple of basic workshop tips to make everything easier and safer:
1) Don't use solvents / cleaning fluids / water and allow to just spill or drip onto the floor (eg @5:48) - it creates a slip / safety hazard and takes longer to clean up than going to a sink or cleaning station to start with.
2) If you are going to work on an engine and do an oil change anyway, particularly when the work involves removing parts that can drip / leak oil, empty the oil first. It reduces leaks / spills and mess. When the filter screen was removed a fair bit of oil dripped onto the car parts below it. That now needs cleaning and can falsely indicate an oil leak down the track when diagnosing another problem.

I have this engine in my 07 Camry. 150k miles on it. Toyota replaced the pistons and rings at 65k due to the oil consumption issue. Lately it has been blowing blue smoke at startup so I'm planning on taking the valve cover off to replace the valve stem seals. Also the engine is very loud so Im wondering if the camshafts and/or valve lifters are also worn. Thanks for this video, going to check this filter also.

That engine looks like quite a few oil changes were missed or extended way too much. Maybe change the oil more frequently to avoid the problem.

Just buy a new one for about $5.00 US. The plastic becomes brittle. Better for older vehicles.

Did they EVER change the oil?!?
Change to synthetic as soon as possible when the engine has been running conventional prior. I've had, and still have toyotas from 2003 and up, never had any clogging issues on any of them. seafoam the engine for 50 miles max, before oil changes, and it will reduce/eliminate oil consumption issues toyotas have also. higher octane fuel will help prevent carbon buildup also

Not too difficult and most Previa vehicles don't have a hydraulic pump
