    I have a 2004 Toyota Camry with this engine. 115,500 miles strong. It absolutely blows me away how simple these little motors actually are.

    The head bolt torquing looks worse that it actually is. I did the head gasket and really went smooth, the 70 NM isn't too much and 90 degree is not bad. I was worried at first but after 2 bolts I just went right through them

    I have the same motor in my Toyota Camry LE 2004 and it only has 84,505 miles on it right now and I purchased the car from Auto Lenders in Williams tow N.J. and it only had 65,000 miles on it with one owner and well maintained and I maintain my car very well the only thing I needed to do to it was change the water pump & the idler pully. When the mechanic did the Joe he told me what he was going to do.Now I am have slot of knowledge on what needed to be done. I told he when he changes out the parts to also put new pulls on both water pump and idler & the new shock on the idler pillow cause I know when you buy parts it doesn't come with everything you really need to do the job right. He was going to re-use the old pulls I told him I want new ones ,because sure as High or He'll once he puts it all back together the pulls will go bad! I know because the pulls have bearings in them also, Not only that the parts were only $35. Each. Now I don't know, Well I do know why they don't come with all the parts when you order them. They just want you the average person who doesn't know to have to come back after a month or so when the job was done you have to go back.😉

    Hello friend, may I ask why new balance shafts were used?

    • @MayoCarsDR
      @MayoCarsDR  Рік тому

      Because the old balance shafts were bad.

    there are two set of balance shafts. do you know the difference between this set (13601-28021 & 13602-28020) and the set you used?

    On my 2002 2.4 L Camry. When I dropped the oil pan I found 2 balance shaft bearings laying in the bottom of the pan. How could the bearings work their way out to fall into the pan?

    What sealant did you add on the corners of the head gasket? Do I have to? If so will black rtv work?

      The same silicone you apply to the timing chain cover can be applied to the corners

      зачем он нужен, не пойму? Нигде нет такой информации.

    Why didn't he put the sealing all the way around the block gasket before you put the head on ? 🤔

    • @MayoCarsDR
      @MayoCarsDR  Рік тому

      I have applied silicone where it was necessary and nowhere else
