One of the great losses to our society is that we've lost the ability to be entertained at such a level, it hearkens to a very specific time in our cultural history and probably never truly existed al all, if it did we've certainly moved past any such beautiful scenes, exchanging them for crass aggression and hostility

That is not Princess Dala's song, though the Princess is in attendance like most of the film's stars. The singer is Fran Jeffries. She's part of Angela Dunning's crowd in the film and appears in several scenes. She only speaks once, in Greek, while she sings in Italian.
I came here to write this. And to add insult to injury this is the official MGM channel.
I think it was sung for the princess
And they even leave Claudia Cardinale out of the cast members above. Scandalous.
@@trickyplays240 Claudia Cardinale is the Princess. Fran Jeffries is a pop singer who is part of the same jet set circle in Cortina.
The song is: Maglio Stasera ( It had better be tonight ). Fran Jeffries was born in Palo Alto in 1937. Her father was Steven Makris who was a Greek immigrant barbershop owner, and her mother was Esther. She was a model and of course a singer. She was featured in a pictorial for Playboy in February 1971, titled Fran-tastic !!... She passed away on December 15th. 2016 in Los Angeles at the age of 79. The cause of death was multiple myeloma.

Wonderful. For years my ambition was to live the life shown in the movie, including the wonderful easy skiing in gorgeous surroundings.
Simply put Fran Jeffries performance was flawless.
This is such a perfect scene that captures essence of an era. Every time I see it, I feel like I'm pulled into the scene. This movie was made when I was one year old, so I really missed out.
As far as The Pink Panther movies go, I think this one is mildly and ironically humorous. A Shot In The Dark was the first that really got into slapstick comedy and made Clouseau a bumbling fool.

Migiacci was the lyricist of numerous internationally successful songs, in particular he wrote the lyrics of the famous "Volare" ("in the blue painted blue") by Domenico Modugno
It's crazy that I fell in love with her from this scene but also that I fell in love wirh the whole vibe this movie brought me. The days where romance was alive and we could all still engage like humans. I miss this more than ever. Such a fantastic performance.

Take note here: This scene was filmed in no more that two "takes". There is only one break, and that may have simply been because the Director liked the last part of the scene better from the view of camera #2. Fran actually was that good, although I've heard some complaints from a few Italians that her accent while singing wasn't very good. Que sera, sera! (oops!)

An undulatingly (and esthetically) attractive Yank, Fran Jeffries, singing an Italian samba. Simple, yet very eye- (and ear-)catching and memorable scene. Too bad Miss Jeffries did not have a more fruitful acting career.
