Two legends of entertainment who, sadly, are no longer with us. May Harry Belafonte and Danny Kaye R.I.P. Thank you, both, for making the world a brighter place.
Just watched "The Secret Lives of Walter Mitty" on UA-cam Movies. Danny Kaye was funny and athletic as "all-get-out"! Plus, Virginia Mayo was gorgeous.
Yes! It was great to see them on my utube page, this morning. Both go back to my toddler years. Hearing Harry on the radio, when I was so very young, (some of the first songs imbedded in my memory if not the first) , and the legendary Danny in all his films and music. It’s so nice to see them on this clip.
Just heard about Harry Belafonte's passing. Now both of these legends are gone. Whenever I need cheering up, I come to watch Danny & Harry dance. Two of my favorite performers. Rest in peace, gentlemen.
@@JayHallett Just found out about his passing too. Told one of my sons that "Our" ("girls" of a certain age) "pretty boy" had died. He said: "show me your pretty boy" and I found your video. We all have to go one day. RIP Harry Belafonte. We will remember you............
Danny Kaye, one of my all-time favorite people. He could do it all, sing, dance, act, do comedy, impersonations, played many instruments, and was a great humanitarian, especially for children. How could you not love him?

I mean yes I was always funny but he made me embrace it more..
Harry Belafonte was a genius, and he will be sorely missed. Not just his voice and singing, but what he did for the Human Race !! Rest in peace Harry…look forward to hearing you in heaven !!!!!
Harry Belafonte-classy, charming, attractive, talented, with a strong social justice track record. If there was ever such a thing as a perfect human being, he is the closest I can think of. And unafraid of “camping it up” in an era that would have not approved either! Superb.
I love how courageous the variety shows of the 1960's were in their choice of music. Danny Kaye could have fun with all kinds of songs - Broadway, folk, classical - and calypso. Belafonte and Kaye are a fantastic team. Harry is the perfect straight man full of amused dignity and Kaye is full of his crazy joy. This number that looks so carefree is incredibly tight musically.
I wish shows like this still existed. My grandmother loved to watch Danny Kaye, and I would watch with her. I loved when he conducted the New York Philharmonic at the Lincoln Center. I bought the video for my Dad. Years later I bought the DVD for myself.
